Can someone help me with SIM Unlocking for the sprint galaxy nexus? Do I need an unlock code, or just flash the unlocked nexus firmware (i9250) ?
The Sprint Galaxy Nexus does not have a GSM radio. It will never work on a GSM carrier. Ever.
Do not try to flash GSM firmware to a CDMA phone.
I'm willing to buy a sprint galaxy nexus, how can I work with another carrier? (I have a vodafone SIM)

No because it's a CDMA phone, not a GSM phone. If you want to use your Vodafon sim card you will need to buy a GSM Galaxy Nexus

If i buy a Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and unlock the bootloader.. Would it be able to work with a T-Mobile sim?

i dont think it will sorry, but then again iam not to sure. i think sim unlocking and bootloader unlocking are two differant things. it dosent cost much to get a phone sim unlocked though and if you do some google searching you might be able to unlock it yourself.
i just read on google that you cant unlock verizon or sprint.
The verizon nexus only has cdma & LTE bands, so no, the only other possibilities are Sprint and other cdma carriers.

Boot loader != sim unlock
CDMA / LTE != GSM
Verizon phones not marketed as 'GLOBAL' will NOT work on GSM carriers. Unlocking a CDMA phone is hard and if done can only be used on CDMA networks (sprint or Verizon in US) and even then you need to provision the phone for the new network and CDMA network operators do not like to allow other phones on their network since you did not buy the phone from that carrier.
TL;DR:
Verizon only works on Verizon

You can get a GSM Galaxy Nexus, unlock and work with T-Mobile.
I have the Nexus and am on T-Mobile.

yes a global verizon phone will but it is sim locked.
First of all non of the galaxy nexus phones are locked. The T Mobile version works with the Att version and so on. The Verizon version will never work on the other networks because cdma is not compatible with GSM period

Verizon galaxy nexus only works on Verizon. It has a sim slot but it's designed strictly for LTE.
It will not work with tmobile or att

This is actually wrong, some of the phones being sold in Europe are actually sim-locked. There is a thread under the general section discussing someone trying to sim-unlock their phone.
trying to get a Verizon Galaxy Nexus to work with a T-Mobile sim card
is it possible? what are the steps?
thanks in advance
No

The steps are:
1. Put T-Mobile GSM SIM card into your CDMA/LTE only phone
2. Cry and wet your pants because it didn't work.
just to be clear, tmobile uses gsm technology and verizon uses cdma. those two are different so they are not interchangeable.
Step 1: sell your Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Step 2: buy a GSM Galaxy Nexus.

thanks for the explanation
This isn't a dumb question BTW... There are several CDMA phones that support gsm .. Rezound for example... No need to be cruel

This is incorrect. Verizon uses CDMA and ATT uses GSM. The phones are not compatible.

^ this
but you can actually change from GSM to CDMA from your *#197328640# (stock 4.1.1) but not sure if that'd work
but for the most cases, reason to unlock AT&T S3 is to use it for T-Mobile ;p

The Verizon "sim" card is only to get Verizon's LTE network. Its useless on ATT/TMobile

^ this. Flashing any Verizon modems, ROMs, ect can lead to a paperweight. The phone has different hardware that allows it to operate on a GSM network and will not allow it to run on a CDMA network. You would have to get a Verizon phone to work on Verizon or go to a different network. T-Mobile for instance accepts att sim cards (with reduced functionality due to different frequencies, but at least you can still use the phone)

I couldn't find any info on flashing the Verizon one to Virgin Mobile.
You'll have better luck flashing a Sprint G-nex to Virgin mobile.
But, if this helps, both the Verizon and Sprint G-nex can be flashed to Cricket or MetroPCS.

I used this guide to flash my Sprint Galaxy Nexus to Cricket. (Basically you can change mycricket.com to be metropcs.com or something like that)
Will there be any issue using a T-Mobile SIM on my ATT Maguro (purchased directly from Google)? Will there be any limitations speec/radio wise, assuming that there is T-Mobile coverage whereever?
1) its not a ATT branded galaxy nexus.
2) pentaband phone so yes it will work.
There never was such a thing as an AT&T nexus
