There is problem with HTC phones. The buttons keep dissapearing. It's like they are haunted or something. HTC recently fixed this in updated version of HBOOT.
try flashing the latest hboot, if still it doesn't work try the world famous hammer test. Drop a hammer on the screen and Voila, problem solved.

You're just gonna have to open the phone up.
When I dropped out my digitizer I noticed that the button has 2 "wings" that come off the side and hold the button onto the frame. I couldn't tell what they were made of but they were flexible which is probably what goes out or dust and pocket lint get under the button.

I'm rooted yes, I've rebooted and turning off then on (no luck). I've disabled a few apps but not default lock screen so I tried enabling them to see if that works, which it didn't.
I've downloaded an app for now which turns off my lock screen so I haven't got to mess about with the notification bar to access my phone. I think I might have to restore my nandroid

My apologies ahead of time if this topics been touch on already, but theres a hidden diagnostic mode on the sgs3. You go into the phone app and dial *#0*# and you'll get this cool diagnostic tool to help ensure you device is running normal. I've returned 2 sgs3's due to faulty sub key touch buttons and dead pixels using this and I just thought I'd share.

Touch option is pretty cool, it fills the screen with all these boxes and you follow them all around your screen with your finger to detect any non responsive areas of your screen. Dead zones you can say. My 1st s3 failed that test.

Pulling out the battery when flashing hboot or radio gives good results.
Also smashing the phone against a wall is good as well.

AW: How to crash phone??
You have damaged your phone. There is no warranty for phones that took a bath ... so they wouldn't repair it either. But what you wanna do is even worse: brick your device, so they can't see CM10 and that the BL is unlocked. I don't know if this is illegal in your country, but I'm sure that you're a fraud!

First of all this is just a simple tweak and maybe I shouldn't open new topic but I'm sure there's lot of you who want that feature but don't know how to enable it.
So here we go.
First you need root manager or ROM tool box/Root Browser(or Root Explorer )
Open it and go to /system/usr/keylayout
Find file fuji-keypad.kl
Add this line (from picture - line focus)
Restart and enjoy.
If you can't save file then you are not using explorer I suggested.

It's easier to unlock device, just tap button and screen is on ; you'll preserve your power button and it's cool
And if you want to get back to stock settings and disable unlock by focus ;
Open that file again and just delete "WAKE_DROPPED"
Save file and restart.

Well it wake your device by focus
O.K, when your phone is locked you have to press power (or vol up/down - if you have that mod) to unlock screen, right?
Well this tweak will enable focus button (low pressure on camera button) to unlock your screen, like power button.
It's easier to press that button and you will save your power button.
Every button or key have xy number of "click", after some time of heavy use it won't work like when device was new.
So guys found a way how to use power buttons to unlock devices, now you have third option
