I mean on desire
Is it feasible to add the SRS sourrounding sound [which is in the Desire HD ] to the htc Desire for a better music quality?
Desire has a mono speaker unfortunately :-( so I think is impossible to have a srs sound :-(

Hi there, I am now using Arconuim ICS 2.4 on my Arc S.
Hopefully someone can make the Clearbass addon for ICS ROMs.
Now the sound is ok but bass still a little weak, DSP manager or the Equallizer in my ROM sounds not very nice.
I've flashed both Ice Cold Sandwich and Jellytime. Love both the roms, but noticed the speaker sound (ringtone/notification) is not as loud as with the GB sense roms. The sound is also quite "tinny" sounding too.
I was not sure if this was typical of these roms because they were never officially release by HTC, issue with drivers, hardware etc?
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks.
Yes official ROMs do tend to have a better sound thn the unofficial ones. U can use volume+ from the market, it will solve our problem.

I've noticed this as well, poor sound or metallic voice sound with the newer roms. Tried many and just decided to stick with a GB rom, afterall why have a phone that you can't talk on??
I don't find the voice sound a problem, it's the speaker sound (ringtones etc) that seems quiet and tinny sounding.
I just flashed the last stable CM7 on the phone and the sound quality/volume was just as poor. As CM7 is not based on a HTC gingerbread rom, it seems this problem is an issue with roms not based on HTC gingerbread/ics/jb releases.
Just watched something on Youtube and I noticed the difference, the volume was much quieter and tinny sounding compared to ARHD (based on HTC rom).
It's not a big deal, but the sound quality and volume is considerably poorer in customs roms, where as a rom that is based on HTC rom has much better sound quality and volume.

There is a flashable zip file for beats audio. search for it in the xda forum n check if it works for u as i couldnt make it work. If u concerned with low volume use volume+ but on cyanogenmod 7 use custom settings on the app otherwise u will hv a distorted sound

After flashing a few more roms, it seems the volume and overall sound quality is considerably better in Sense based roms. AOSP Jellybean and ICS roms, the sound is tinny and quieter.
I flashed two Sense 4.0 ICS roms and the sound quality and volume was just as good as ARHD Sense 3.0 and 3.5 roms. I flashed Ice Cold Sandwich and Jellytime, both had the tinny sound and lower volume.
Installing a volume+ app (or similar) seems pretty pointless, it just distorts the sound even more by upping the treble?
I wonder what Sense does to make the sound much better than a Sense-less phone?

Volume with sense based roms is good and volume+ works best for cm or aosp, aospx or others.but u can get better sound with volume+ on sense roms aswell.

Okay I flashed the cyanogenmod rom... and im not sure if i still have my beats audio.. can someone tell me if i do or not and can u help me get it back if not?
I tried CM some days ago and i dont think the beats audio is there in CM...jst try searching here for any mods if they are available for beats audio...!!
AOSP/AOKP/CM10 has inferior sound quality compared to Sense ROMs and does not include Beats Audio, which comes with Sense.
Hi all is there a Working Beats and Xloud for Desire HD Jellybean, I have searched and tried many version about and nothing works some gives crackles others simply no sound.
If possible Dolby, SRS, Beats and Xloud would be great.
Currently running CM10.1
Thanks in advance.
