I was wondering that too, probably based on some we already have here. I tried to search the site but its in some weird alien language

On the other hand, have you tried flashing the script after flashing the rom? Could work :b
Nandroid first either way.
Well, correct me if i am wrong, but video recording is working great with this rom... much moree faster....
Seems to share some MIUI components. Tried it for a few seconds didn't like it

The build.prop says that this is 4.0.4, but that can easily be faked. What's the reported kernel version?
Guys,
based on CM9 and is really 4.0.4 ICS!!
someone that is able to insert some script for our Desire pls!
Well, its not k3, it is 2.6.38.8 cayniarb-ics-stock kernel... whatever, cam is better for me

Camcorder works like a charm for me, hw video decoding works.
Trying now flashing few libs from cm9 rom for smoothnes...
link2sd works, but low space.

i didnt see any lag, just lot of battery drain... but i will try this kernel... still searching someone that is able to insert data2ext script...
for language change: you should edit two build.prop line in the zip without extract the file:
ro.product.locale.language=zh
ro.product.locale.region=TW
example for italian:
ro.product.locale.language=it
ro.product.locale.region=IT
after this flash the rom and install morelocal2.
not sure if someone will get full rom language but at least is better
I'm testing this rom for 2 days, and i'm happy with it. I don't use any sd2ext scripts, since i use my phone only for calls, sms and gmaps.
Unfortunatly, the lockscreen is a bit laggy.

Yeah but it freezes all the time, reboots, camera don't work and still slow. Don't get me wrong it CAN be used (and I was using it for ages)... but the cons outweigh the pros as of yet and I rather use a GB ROM, a lot faster and a lot more stable. I mean kudos to the devs they're doing a great job, but it's still early days IMO

If you are using anything but stock hboot you may have issues as Lenny does modify the rom to primarily suit stock hboot. It will work on other hboots but some apks are missing.
Look at alpharev website and flash back to stock hboot. Do a full wipe and then reflash the rom. From their you should find miui-au pretty stable

I had a problem once changing hboot. I read a few times on different forums that one should always use the "downgrade" hboot prior to changing hboot. Since then i did so, and did not have any problem anymore.

Calm down, No need to rage!
CM9 by modpunk is the best ICS ROM for our phone.
if you don't like it, you shouldn't have installed. All the bugs are clearly mentioned there.
About CAM: Camera is perfectly working in RC1. Some performance issues are there but they are awaiting Drivers.
Battery? I get 12 hours of battery on ICS. Which is way better than what i used to get in sense. Check your configurations.
Heating problem? It is with every wildfire. Check your overclock settings for that.
CM9 and all ICS ROMS are senseless ROMs. If you are looking for sense widgets in them you are making a fool of yourself.
To revert to your original ROM follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467844
P.S. Next time you flash a custom ROM please read disclaimer and Bug list so you don't end up raging on devs.
Also if you have Stock nandroid backup you can use that.

It is, just not in usual way. To record video, you have to use IgCamera app and to play it, you have to use some external player with it's own codecs like MX Player.

Thanks, I will try your CM10 ROM, although I have rooted and installed several ROMS in a samsung spica, and a sony Xperia ArcS, I have not very clear how to install your ROM.
Wipe Data, Cache, and system "OK"
Flash the ROM "It's the TEST13 file? is this done in the recovery, right?"
Flash GApps "is this done in the recovery, right?"
Download the boot.img "OK xD"
Flash boot.img in fastboot "I guess this one is not done in the recovery, could you please be a little bit more specific? what is included in the boot.img? it's mandatory?"
If I install this kernel it adds any apps/option in the ROM so I can change the OC to 1.2 or keep the default 1?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765687
Or in order to change I need to install a 3rd party app in google play?

boot.img is the kernel, mandatory.
In case you need commands
Settings>Performance has options for freq. control. But I think some app like "no frills" is recommended.

Only Gingerbread 2.3.X based ROM's are able to use FM radio if I'm not mistaken. I'm not too sure about ICS and JB. You can try 3rd party apps.
Actually lag or not it depends on the user, and flash/install seeders and all will be snappier.
Yes, only stock Rom support a working radio, cm roms will never support it. And if you want a non-laggy GB, try flashing seeders, cow kernel and v6 supercharge. That's why I like higher android versions, they are fast without any add-ons.

Actually it is not a bug, it's just that the CM code doesn't include any kind of Fm radio support. So the problem is actually in the source code.

Pretty much all gingerbread roms should be almost 100% stable.
My beanstalk build isnt too bad either. It all depends on how you define stable.
If you have tried ALL of the available ROMs here not sure what else we can suggest...or do you to want list to the ones you have actually tried so we don't go round in circles
Nobody can tell you exactly which ROM is best for you, but there are plenty of stable ones.
Generally better to stick to gingerbread ones if you want stability.
Make sure you partition your sdcard properly using gparted or 4ext recovery (not minitool or clockworkmod recovery) for a2sd
I'm currently using Beanstalk Release 2, without any problem, except the video recording which doesn't work: camera seems to work, but does not generate any video file.
To send or receive MMS, I have replaced SMS/MMS by chompSMS which works well.
The Wifi Hotspot also works when using the posted fix. It would be nice to include this fix in the next release !
It would also be nice if Chromium could have a look at the video problem !
Maybe try some of Mildwild roms, all they are on gingerbread but everything work fine and smooth

Are you sure it isn't some particular app that's causing the crashes as you have tried all the ROMs? If not then card issue - quality or format as already stated above, or your phone is starting to fail - it does happen.
I have found many ROMs to be unstable, but as already stated above, the GB ROMS should pretty much all work as designed.
Cool droid and cm 8 JG stable have full backups resident on my card ready for quick recovery from other builds. When it all goes wrong i go back to one of these.
CM 8 JG stable has some extra features but occasional brief stalls and some things don't do quite what they say, probably due to options being in more than one place.
Cool droid one the most stable outside of an original build with ample space for apps.. .
Had a quick go with beanstalk and well impressed for an early build despite no stand alone calender.
Most others tried and discarded, mainly due to not supporting the early ROMs stand alone calender (must ask that question) or silly things like no contacts selection from create msg (How TF can folk leave that out) before I even get to stability issues.
After ensuring card is good quality and formatted correctly, I would strongly suggest OP look at running a build with only critical requirement stuff installed, Then add one more app at a time and use for a day or two and see when it fails.
addendum
I have seen some of the devs state that older recoverys may be causing some issues with certain ROMS. - Worth looking at.

Any KitKat, Jellybean, even Ics Rom not working 100% correctly because we don't have Kernel 3.0 and higher on Desire. No Kernel= no good working Rom

I guess one has to just forget video recording.. then there are many roms which work great for day to day.. Just remember..not to install too many apps.. it will slow down the device sooner or later. the RAM on desire simply not enough.

Oups ... sorry !
Anyway, I understand there's no solution at the moment to fix the video recording issue when using any kitkat rom
Which one is the most stable KitKat rom currenty?
I 'd say Chromium's Beanstalk is quite stable.
A year ago I found a ROM that permanently cured my flashaholism, I'm still using it, uptime reaches 800+ hours before I reboot it. Perfectly stable. Might be what you are looking for as well

Well, now I have found a video camera application that works on HTC Desire.
It's called "Videocam Illusion" and it's free.
Just install it and the video recording works well, storing the files in a folder named /sdcard/Videocamilllusion.
To see these files in the Gallery application, you have to rename the video files from .mov to .mp4.
Also, you'll have to install another video player able to read these videos.
Therefore, just install the free application called "Android Video Player" and put it as default video player for Gallery and everything is then allright.
I still wonder why this application works well and the normal camera not !!!

Hi Chromium
Happy to read from you.
Do you think you'll be soon able to bring something new on your Beanstalk ROM, concerning MMS and video recording ?
It would be nice !
Except these two issues, I'm using it since a couple of weeks now, without any problem. That's fine ! :good:
