So I got a digitizer from eBay and replaced it myself. (I had a defective touch screen)
Now, I can't seem to boot past the boot screen (kernel). It would get stuck at Sony Ericsson (for stock kernels), the wolf logo (LuPuS), etc.
I've tried using flashtool to flash a stock ROM but to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas?
Bump. No one? I'm using an iPhone and.. I hate it..
Maybe you could try to reassembly the new digitizer, i've replaced my digitizer too but with frame from ebay and everything ok

Mine's with frame too. I've tried taking everything out and putting everything back in again, still the same.
Thanks though!
Must be SW problem, if you can see the kernel/boot logo.. Or the flex cable in the HW has bad contacts. But... Even flashing other ftf causes same?

May I know which is the flex cable? There is one that seems to connect the touchpad to the motherboard, I have had trouble trying to insert that cable. Might have damaged it in the process..

It seems that my screen is registring touches without me actually suching it. If portrait the problem seems to be at the upper right corner if the phone is in protrait mode. What do I have to change to fix it?
(I used Touch Test to see how it registers touches...)

You say it may be a software problem: Has this happened before to other members?
I truley doubt if its a software problem, but go ahead and wipe everything the flash a different rom. if you problem still is present then spend 20$ on a new digitizer

You may have bricked it. Have you tried installing any rooms lately? Consider flashing back your stock firmware with "flash tool".
I have a stock device that has never been flashed or tampered with. Does anyone know what the flashing led mean?

Leave it charging. Sometimes the battery is too low to turn on. If not, try a new battery

Didnt u read.... I used another battery in it and it didnt boot, plus I tried my battery in another xperia play and it worked!!
If it's never even been rooted, then you should take it in for repair. Maybe a hardware issue.

Maybe if he researched but oh well, this what I have and sometimes it indicates a hardware component is damaged meaning find out what it is,
you should:
Go to your phone provider and ask them do NOT MENTION ABOUT ANY ROOTING OR BL UNLOCKING.
Find out what problem it has .
Or never use it again (Dont do it)
In my case the digitlizer "Screen" is broken, because back in march I used to boot my phone and the screen wouldnt sometimes work of course there could be another problem but...
Yea I realised I tried turned it on with the battery in the wrong way. I realised it didn't come on and when I fixed the battery right it still wouldn't come on. It just kept flashing the red light only when I tried to charge via USB or wall charger

Yep
Xperia Play Won't boot.
I bought Asphalt 7. Was downloading and installing the game when suddenly it kind of crashed. It booted again but the screen became all glitchy. Opened the phone and saw that the flex cable died so I replaced it and booted but it didn't boot at all. When pressing the on button the phone vibrates but no screen.
Allready flashed .ftf file and updated with SEUS so the device is in stock state but it doens't boot. When pressing the on button the phone vibrates but no screen. :crying:
Help me please

Yes. It can cause screen problem if you used the wrong firmware. Speaking from experience on xperia plays.
Thanks, the sound gives me a hope..so, what is your solution?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
No. It is your digitiser spoilt. I had it on my play as well. Go to the repair store to fix or take it apart yourself if you want to fix it yourself.

Hello guys!
I noticed that in all the photos I take with my phone, a small black "interference" appears. I thought it should be a problem with the rom, so I reinstalled the ROM (CM10.1 Alpha 4) by the pristine way and the problem was still there. I then installed a 2.3.6 ROM and the problem was still there. Then, I've dissasembled the phone and cleaned the camera with a microfiber tissue and reassembled again. And the problem was still there. I have no ideas what might be causing this interferance.
In all CM10.1 Alpha versions, CM10 and 2.3.6, the problem exists. I took a photo of a white paper where you can clearly see the interference (Click HERE)
Does anybody have an idea of what might be the problem?
Thanks to all in advance
I have this problem too and the black dot expand in all screen .... So
I asked samsung service center they told me u must change the camera
Maybe flashing roms tweaks and mods alot make this problem??

Try this 3rd party camera app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsInBvd2VyY2FtLmFjdGl2aXR5Il0.
I've always thought it was better than the stock camera.
Maybe you'll get better results and the black dots are just a problem with the stock app.

The problem still persists with that app :\
Maybe I will have to deliver the phone to Samsung's repair center in order to replace the camera..
It's a hardware problem, you must change the camera.

agree.. :good:
Oh sorry, well it was worth a try.
But woldn't it be better to get a new phone instead of having the camera replaced? I man I imagen it will cost about as much.
It shouldn't be that much try contacting Samsung first before you commit to buying a new phone

Today I went to my service provider assistence shop and they send it to Samsung in order to repair it. I flashed stock recovery and unrooted the device. It is still in the warranty period, so it shouldn't be a problem
Good to hear that you found a solution..
