Holo Launcher HD - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Ok so I found someone talking about this in some random gs3 thread and thought I should share it hear. This launcher is really cool and I am running stock rooted FI03 with a landscaped homescreen! It's a Jellybean launcher and it's working really good with a ton of options. I plan to run this with the paranoid android rom tonight when I get some time. I think this is going to be a cool combination. Anyway I wanted to give others the chance to check this out. And Jay if u think this is just another useless thread by all means close it lol! But this is pretty cool!

Surprised more don't know about this launcher. I've been using it since I had my Nexus S 4G, really great free launcher. I just wished it had more gesture options.

It works on older versions of android as well I think as far back as donut if I remember correctly. So if you're on GB and dont want to upgrade you can still get that ICS/JB look and feel, at least launcher wise:thumbup:

That sucks. I wonder what would make a launcher not work on a certain rom? I thought they worked on everything. Weird.

Looks like that would have to be done as a launcher, not a theme or launcher w/theme. Way more complicated than anything I would want to tackle. Just the xml edits alone could take weeks if someone was to try to convert from something that exists.

well put haha.
yes i would be extremly happy with essentially a framework theme, doesnt have to be real functional, just the dropdowns and connectivity buttons, maybe a nice batt icon
Not that I have tons of free time, but I can't even think where to start on something like that. What about you Dreams?

Pretty neat. Feels really bulky though. Definitely not as fluid as TouchWiz, or even Launcher Pro.
Nice find

probably because i think that Touchwiz 4.0 was hardware accelerated by samsung with their U/I

Will this interfere with touchwiz that I am running on my Epic Touch 4g (SGS2)???? I would like to try it I just wanna make sure It doesnt screw up my phone...Any advice is appreciated..
you can have more than one launcher installed on a phone at a time. It will interfere with your home screen setup, widgets, and app drawer

No you can have more than one launcher if you don't like you can simply uninstall and you will have your default back.

From what I can tell...it only themes the widget menu and dockbar and gives you a couple of wallpapers. I'll stick with TW for now. Thanks though to the OP.
Its only alpha so I'm sure improvements will be made.

Well, the honeycomb launcher was rolled out by the same dev awhile back, and that's not so customizable/smooth either. It's a nice attempt, but they need to give it CM7 customizations and LP fluidity if they want a winner...

ICS AOSP lockscreen?

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594945
Possible to port this over to our device?
There is a rom over at the Skyrocket section and it works perfectly on the t989. Its called Sky ICS the real thing, by seanzscream. Try it, it has the aosp lockscreen.
just download go locker.

Not a fan of using lockscreen apps unless they're integrated into a rom like miui.
I'll check that ROM out, on ICS perfection and haven't had a single issue yet so it'll take a lot to convince me to switch but we'll see
Give go locker another shot. Its much better then when it first came out. You can also customize it quite abit. Wallpaper, haptic feedback, and sounds can be changed around. Plus there are a ton of themes for it. Most are free to!!
Also, give Widget Locker a try. It has the ICS lock screen you are looking for.
My strong suggestion. Dont use third party screen locker. They are pain in back. I had very bad experiance with miui locker and other one (never tried go locker though) so i came out of this fancy thing.

Yea..when i get my GSII back ill try it
Yea he samsuck lock screen blows. I like quick access to the camera. And lock screen apps are always buggy and use unnecessary resources

Yeah, the one from sky ics over in the skyrocket section works fine.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
The one in the sky ics thread has a flashover stock Android and stock Samsung to revert. They both work perfectly on our device. Sky ics Ucla4 not the newest leak. I'll try to get the link and edit this post

Not that I've seen.

There's a pretty high demand for low dpi and tablet ui, I think cm should work on it as an option that would work natively

on that Tablet UI thread, you can sift through the pages and find a flashable zip version for CM9 ALpha 6...that's if you don't like to use adb to do your deeds...I'm going to just flash it in recovery right after I flash the rom then gapps....let me know if it works out for you bub!

Can you use this with themes like Purple Kush (which is the cat's pajamas, btw!)? I'm also running a nightly, are they still compatible?

Sure. When I was using the tab mod, most themes worked flawlessly.

Haha, I saw this started a few days ago and decided not to start on the burn wagon. I love the responses of those who did and by those who did it.
There is one theme that I know doesn't work on the tablet. That's the Crimson Cobalt for CM9 and AOKP...that one will send all kinds of crap spinning.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the Classic app drawer require an new launcher?
I think he's just referring to icons and colors if I'm not mistaken...

Yeah just a theme. Like putting a ics or jelly bean theme on gingerbread. Should be the same principal.

The notification bar is. Remember that there have been so many changes to Android that it might not be possible to go back to what you really want.
