I flashed to a rooted stock rom and everything worked fine, although I was getting nothing but force closes. So I decided to flash back to stock non-rooted. Odin got suck during "system" so I unplugged the phone from the pc, closed odin, removed the battery and reinserted it, booted into download mode, and tried to flash again. now, odin just keeps getting stuck no matter what I try to flash it with. I also tried doing the "unbrick phone using international gsm boot image" but it's currently stuck on "getting pit for mapping"..
Note: Before I tried flashing to a rooted stock rom, I was on UCALH9, and the rooted stock rom was a UCALG1, and the non-rooted stock rom was UCALG1... I don't know if that will make a difference or not but I thought i'd just put that up there as a reference maybe
please help
thanks

I have a major issue. I flashed a new rom but my phone got stuck in bootloop. I went into recovery and tried to flash my backup. When I went into recovery my usb storage was unmounted. So I figured I'd go into oden and flash a new kernal. When I did this I placed the file in the phone section not the pda section of oden. I realized this mistake after I started to flash and paniced and unplugged the usb. Now when I turn my phone on its stuck at a screen that says hook the phone up to kies and go into kies recovery. It will still let me get into download mode. Anyone know how to fix and what is all needed to fix, kernal, drivers etc....... Thanks

Latest drivers installed? Also maybe try ODINing to ICS and try it out from there
Is there a jelly bean 4.1.2 stock tar file around that i can flash in odin.. i just tried again 5 time somehting is wrong cant flash any recovery on this phone anymore.. everytime i get that firmwear upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in kies and try again? thats what it says in the download mode screen.. then it stuck on that screen unless i use odin to flash a new rom.. i have UVLI4 tar file im hoping to get a newer file to flash and just leave it stock cause flashing a recovery is a NO go..
Oh, man! You need to do some more reading. I realized that you're posting in all kinds of threads in multiple forums (fora?) to solve your problem. All the stock tar files are available at sammobile.com. Search for T989 there and you will find the most recent odin-flashable T-Mobile stock rom.

I flashed this thing like 4x in odin and it says it gone through. But when I reboot my phone and go to the settings to check it still says I have the mk2 baseband. I give up.
I am on the KOT49H.S001.VirginROM x3.1.1 and it says my device is a GT-I9505G if that is the culprit.

Uncheck auto reboot in Odin.
Flash the tar twice in a row without rebooting.
Now I bet its there when you reboot

well. I tried to flash the 4.4.2 modem bin twice. First time went through. Second time I got a fail. (I had to reboot in between, odin wouldn't do anything if I didn't).
Now I can't start my phone. I get the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. PLease Select Recovery mode in Kies and try again".
So I'm assuming I have to flash the M919AVUAMDL from the odin thread?? I never went to knox (still on 4.2)
EDIT:
Just tried to "fix the softbrick" but I keep getting fail in Odin. I have no idea what to do anymore. SMH.

^^^^^^ Anyone can help me out with this???
PS: Kies doesn't even recognize my device, Kies 3.0 and 2.6
EDIT:
I tried flashing SGH-M919-UVUAMDB.tar and M919UVUAMDL.tar and I'm getting a "FAIL" on both. I'm downloading the official 4.4.2 firmware from the Samsung website (which is taking forever) and going to try flash that in Odin. I will be getting a Knox counter (which I didn't have before) but at this point, I just need a working phone.
Update:
Waited 2 hours to download the firmware from the Samsung site and it failed at the last minute. I give up. SMH

I can't get into recovery. Only download mode.
I'd try Odining back to stock mk2 or nb4.

Phones are not bricked if they still show power in some way. That is either called soft-bricked or sponged.
Also Questions and help issues belong in the Q&A and Help sections
Thread moved
Thanks

It would help if you posted what error you got in Odin.. Also try different USB ports, PC, reinstalling drivers.. This is not a hard brick

If you get download mode, try getting a recovery installed, like a phillz touch or cwm. look for one that will compliment your os that you have installed and then try getting into recovery.
You might even do as someone else pointed out, return to complete stock, and take it from there.....
I got my phone back up.
I had to flash the 4.4.2 firmware in Odin. No other firmware wouldn't work. Every ttime I downloaded from SamsungMobile website the download failed the last minute.
So now I got a Knox boot loader but oh well, I just needed my phone back up.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T and for about a year and a half always wanted to root it but had no idea how. I had an iPhone a while back and used to jailbreak it I became an expert at it. Rooting is not so easy compared at least with the problems I've been experiencing
I started by watching hundreds of root videos and ended up rooting it with Odin and Kit Kat tar file im not sure of the specific file but I'm almost 100% it was my version 4.4.2 that I flashed.
After I did this I downloaded the basics and tried to get TWRP but gooManager wasnt working for some reason.
I tried to flash the Cyanongen 11 onto my phone using the installer for the comp and on google play store and it worked up until the end I got the dead droid symbol for a bit and it finished downloading to show the "ROM may flash stock recover on boot. Fix?" error message and I selected no and "Root Access Possibly Lost Fix?" I also selected no. My phone booted with no custom rom still rooted and most of my apps are unresponsive and close randomly except facebook and youtube.
I decided I wanted to return it to stock rom and try again but when I downloaded the stock tar file and tried to flash it I got this
I'm not sure what to do because I cant return it to stock rom, clockmod recovery has stopped working, and every video I watch about how to fix it is only making it worse.
If you have any idea what I can do or what I'm doing wrong let me know.
Odin failed because you cannot flash older firmware. Your best bet is to reflash recovery via Odin, then if you want stock go to enewman17's stock rom/system dump thread in development and flash the rom and factory reset.

I tried to flash cwm recovery onto my phone usb debugging selected and now odin doesnt even show that my phones recognized. This is so frustrating.
I suggest installing Philz Touch recovery via Odin and using Philz to flash a custom ROM to at least get your phone up and running.

If Kies is on your computer, remove it. Have you tried reinstalling drivers?

Hello,
I tried to root this device with cf-autoroot and Odin 3.07 yesterday. But it just didn't do anything. After felt 20mins I cancled the process with no good result :/
Now I'm getting the message:
"firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again."
-I tried it via Kies, but it needs some code I don't have.
-I downloaded stock Rom 4.4.2 and flashed it via Odin 3.09 but no success.
Odin just won't let me flash anything. I don't know why.
-While flashing Kies is off, drivers are installed (it's Added! In Odin) and it's not the first time I'm doing this. I have no idea. I tried different usb-ports. No success. First time I face this problem.
Now I read about Pit file, but I have no clue.
Every help is much appreciated.
Thank you so much

I guess the code is under your battery
Okaay. I will give it a try. Next time! The problems solution was to flash a custom recovery first.

The latest FW in Sammobile starting from Hungary till Bulgary they fail at hidden file in Odin, you need to flash custom recovery to solve that issue....
@Muhammad Rihawi, Also having the same problem. Somehow, i thought the solution ws flashing a pit file... Let us know if flashing a custom recovery sorts out the problem for ya..

Yes Pit file will solve it but we don't have it...
you can flash root or custom recovery, either of both will work.
From two days i just flash bulgari FW then chanfire Root via odin and its works

I don't get it, after flashing the stock Firmware, which failed at hidden. The status bar on the phone stopped and seemed to freeze... I flashed the cf-auto root but it failed... then removed the battery, rebooted into download mode and reflashed the cf-auto root then in odin i saw passed but when the phone rebooted, it was stuck on the bootscreen. After waiting endlessly, removed the battery and tried to enter the recovery mode but it simply wouldnt go there.... Did i miss anything???

flash the FW via odin after its failed at hidden file just remove the cable and the battery, re enter the battery and run to download mode straight connect the cable flash custom recovery or cf-auto root after it's success just remove the cable and the device will restart and boot...
in odin keep everything unticked just auto restart ticked.
