sorry for wrong information
galaxy mini 2 and ace+ is armv6 or armv7 ?
mini 2 using MSM 7227, it's mean AMRv6. remember AMRv7 is only for mid-end and high-end devices
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_mini_2_s6500-3883.php
and also has same camera
also using same GPU: adreno 200
also has same resolution

Sadly no, both of these (Ace2/Mini2) use the Qualcomm MSM7227A which is ARMv7. Our devices (Ace/Gio/Mini/Fit) use the MSM7227T (only a litography shrink allowing 800MHz stock clock, the T is for turbo) - and that is still ARMv6. So still no libs for ARMv6.
sorry. i have a mistakes. just take info from gsmarena. they said that mini 2 using MSM 7227, not 7227A. sorry for all
And would have to resize a lot.. Its easier to port JB from another arm v7 device, and that is already hard.
Nust stick with cm10

sad to hear it however, we still can feel the taste of ics and jelly bean on our device, even not 100% working hardware
Galaxy Beam will receive update?? is not ARMv6?
See this http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/24/samsung-rolling-jelly-bean-toward-most-of-its-smartphone-tablet/
Let me confirm that mini 2 is armv7
Verstuurd van mijn GT-S6500D met Tapatalk
Don't expect it would change anything on our Gio.
Samsung just won't release JB or even ICS for any ARMv6 device.
Just like mini 2 or ace plus wont get next version, just 1 software update...

Guys, hold your horses, it is a Samsung S8500 Wave, which sports a 16m colors, Super-Amoled screen with 480x800 pixels, which by far surpasses the SGY in many levels. Plus it has a CortexA8 CPU clocked at 1GHZ and a PowerVR SGX540 which almost comparable with Adreno 205 in speed. I believe porting is possible since there are phones running with the same spec with Android as OS. Too bad the basic phone functions are yet to be developed/fixed.. but who knows in time the dev might actually pull it off

thanks for the nice info.. I have been a fan of Bada, this will surely make S8500 users have more options and fully maximize their phone's potential.

No one has tried yet. Dont think so
Ubuntu is under development for higher devices.(Yes!!!) But it wont come to us):
"If I could I would, but I can't so I shan't."
Unfortunately, I don't believe it supports ARMv6 and it requires CM10.1 as a base for the port.

Supported architecture isn't the biggest problem here. From what we know so far only high end devices will have official support for Ubuntu Touch and based on that I can only assume it will be cluster f*** on low/mid end devices. Don't wanna be rude, but installation package which is available for nexus is something about 400MB - where do you wanna put that ? SD card ?
I honestly don't know how you can slim that down x[

A total NO! Since Ace 2 is ARMV7 and has Dual-Core 800Mhz processor with different display and so on. While Gio is ARMV6 And has single core 800 Mhz processor! If it was even possible it would take a lot of time to make it boot fix big issues!
Can be possible but requires an hard smali work to complete this
Ok thanks guys! Well I guess that I'll just buy a Ace 2, because I don't really think that someone will make this

As 10000 Is Not a small number
Haha
It just seems like it's so simple. Will have to go from reverse engineering, something that is not simple ... haha there's a lot behind the drivers, which complicates a reverse engineering as well. I do not think Alcatel has compiled, but the broadcom for Alcatel.

Well the drivers (I pressume) are the drivers which they had uploaded earlier on MadTeam forum. XDA had posted an article earlier that Broadcom has released drivers for Galaxy Y(Regarding the drivers which were uploaded on MadTeam)
My point is that, Softpedia might have uploaded the drivers on their page without knowing the background story (i.e.. that the drivers are utterly useless).
Hope if someone could test it out and report. For me, I do not own a Galaxy Y anymore, so it is impossible for me to test it out.
Current Broadcom are concentrating on releasing mid range devices with Samsung and few Chinese companies with no scope of getting a stable Cyanogenmod.
I doubt that Broadcom will ever release the drivers.
