Hey guys! I use the T-Mobile My Account app to pay my bill from my phone, its pretty convenient. However, it comes bundled with a little sub app, My Device, and My Device is annoying as hell. It will tell me when my battery is low, every time I restart my phone, it asks if my issues have been resolved, etc.
I can't figure out which file to freeze in Titanium Backup. Anyone know how to shut My Device down?
You can disable the notifications in the programs options.

Left touch button?
I don't get it? I just see "About" and then either "My Device" or "My Account" depending on which screen I'm on

Hey there XDA, I'm selling a friends incredible for him on eBay and have a quick question. He did a factory reset so the phone needs to be set up again, if I hit "activate" on the initial set up when the only options are activate or emergency call, will it attempt to find a Verizon plan or.will it simply register on the network and say it has no service?
I want to be able to take shots of the rom so nobody thinks its broken, but can I go past activate and just use the phone on a wifi connection? Without cell service, of course.
Thanks

I don't know if it works on the incredible but on the d2 you can tap each corner of the screen, starting with the upper left, to bypass the activation screen.

I ended up finding the solution. Taping on the screen corners did not work, but after hitting activate, letting the call connect, and rebooting 3 times it went past the activation screen and let me use the phone, I also toggled the mobile network selection in the power menu but I'm not sure that mattered

Yeah I thought it might be just a moto thing. Glad you got it working.

Just for reference, the corner taps worked for the HTC Droid Eris also.
Works on the DINC also.
every time i click a link in youtube it pops up with the message
clear defaults
clear default app settings by going to settings, applications, manager, all
even if i tell it to open with the youtube or internet app by default and select every time it asks me this same question every single time.
is there any way to stop this from happening? obviously, it is a touchwiz thing because its never happeend on any other devcie i've owned. so annoying.
It was on my nexus too..Obviously not running touchwiz.. seems to almost be a bug with the note. When you select to use that app every time, i would think it shouldn't come back up. .I've noticed it too

Hi, have this annoying problem with my nexus its frequently showing pop up menu to handle some event (like option to choose between email, ever note, etc) and I learn it was a bug report file and a screen capture. Is this normal? I'm worried this might be caused by some malware.
Anyone else having this issue?

It's the bugmailer.sh script. Just delete or rename (more safe) it from /system/bin/bugmailer.sh
Bugmailer.sh is not malware, fyi.

Thanks, renaming the file does work.
Yes it's probably not a malware, and but keep popping up all of the students and taking your screen shoot behind your back really freak me up

It's a feature that Google inserted in ICS.

Is there anyway I could found out which app initiating bug report? (or what might causing it to pop up so frequent)

I am looking for recomendations for "I lost my phone" apps.
Any feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks
Cerbus anti theft. Its $3, but I heard its really good. You can go on your computer, and you can find your phone on it through gps.
Also if you lost it because of theft you can lock up your phone, wipe your data, record voice, send the phone messages, and stuff like that.
Here's the demo video.

Will it also cause the phone to ring so if you misplaced it you can locate by sound? Will it turn the ringer on even if you had it on vibrate?
LookOut helped me find my phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout&hl=en
Lookout has a plan b app that can help you find your phone if you didn't have it installed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5sb29rb3V0LmxhYnMucGxhbmIiXQ..

If your phone is lost then Plan B sounds like what you need. Based on the positive reviews it seems like a winner.
I use avast and it works awesome. Left my phone at home but thought I lost it used my buddys for sms command and and found it in 5mins

Yeah, you can call it from the computer. Idk about turning the sound on from vibrate though.

I lost my phone. I use Sprint Total protection. you can use the computer to locate you phone and locates it right on a map. its free and works fairly well.
I would recommend where's my Droid, really works. I have a buddy who lost his phone, next morning after partying he realizes he doesn't have his phone, luckily his sister installed Where's my Droid on it, good thing he had a screen lock, and even more lucky the heroin addict who took it wasn't smart enough to turn it off. Anyway, turned out to be about 30 miles from where we live, dude returns it, looking all burnt out, skinny as hell, veins all purple ...even tried to get money for him returning it. Lol.

I also prefer the mentioned Cerberus. It does GPS location, and sending alarms like most of these apps. The thing that stood out to me was its remote camera and audio recording abilities. Also, I use a secure lock screen. With cerberus, you can have the phone automatically take a picture using the front camera, if an incorrect pattern/password was entered, and then email that picture. Also, the app is fully functional during the trial period. It's kind of scary how much permission I'm allowing these types of apps to have, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take at the moment.
I'm using Zoner Antivirus

I was looking at the screenlock app from the xda front page, and toyed with it a little, however, it made me wonder if anyone knows of, or can make an app that disables everything put the dialer?
I hate letting my kids use my phone because I never know what they are gonna snoop thru or if someone is going to send me something I wouldnt want them to see, it would be great to be able to lock out everything but the dialer in this type of situation... any thoughts?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can use an app that locks out other apps. That way you can lock the apps you don't want your kids having access too, then disable SMS notifications and they will never read them or see them.
