i tried to update my phone (i474) to jellybean (4.1.4), but i have a mac. so i downloaded odin on my older pc and started the process. it failed and my phone said to connect to kies and enter recovery mode. i did and kies said connecting for several hours. i then went and tried to flash it with the standard firmware (4.0.4) and that failed as well. now my phone wont even start up if i try to enter download or any other mode it vibrates and then does nothing. i can reset it because it wont start up the menu either. is there any way to hard reset it completely, or is it still covered in warrantee. can i fix it

First of all I just want to let you know there are hundreds guys, like you, that don't bother to read the installation instructions and then beg and plead for the forum to fix your problems which the disclaimer states that the OP is NOT responsible if you brick your device or cause damages to it. Second, if you bothered to read the "Rules" for the forum you would know that the General section is meant for such and the Q&A(Questions and Answers) section is meant for such. Please read something. At least once. Please.
I'm not burning you man all I'm saying is calm down and have patience with flashing custom roms because as you found out it can, and will, brick your device, sometimes permanently.
Okay now back to business, the "Odin" program(version3.07) I believe, don't quote me, does NOT work on a Mac at least to my knowledge.
If you have a windows xp computer please get on there and download the Odin software then go to here, http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I747, and then while that is downloading go to the AT&T Galaxy Slll Android Development section, not the "Original" section, and download the [Samsung Galaxy S3 QCOM ToolKit v2.3] and install it.
After it's started and it asks to update type, yes, and press enter. After that is finished press the number, 1(one), for AT&T SGH-I747 and then enter. If you have the drivers installed already skip this step, if you don't have the drivers installed press the number 1(one) and install.
Afterwards you can press the number 8(eight), Download, Extract + Flash Stock ROM via Odin, then after entering the #8 section select #2.
In this section it asks you to put the Stock ROM into, put_odin_images_here, which can only hold one file at a time.
Go to your downloads folder, on your PC, and drag the Stock ROM file onto the desktop. Next go to my computer and locate your Samsung Galaxy Slll QCOM program files, check where you downloaded it to, and then click on the folder to open it.
You should see something like...
backups
drivers
INPUT
mods
OUTPUT
etc.
Drag the Stock ROM to the put_odin_images_here folder and then go back to the Galaxy Slll QCOM program.
Type the letter, R, to refresh the list and it should show 1 file found and also FILE NOT FOUND(ignore this message).
It asks if the file you put into the folder is the one you want to extract. Type, yes, and press enter.
After it's finished it will put the extracted file into OUTPUT, I believe =P, and then you return to the QCOM program.
Go back to the main screen and then press number 8(eight) then enter and then press number 4(four), Flash Stock ROM via odin, press enter.
Press the number 1(one) and let it do it's thing. If it doesn't want to enter your custom recovery then skip this step.
Afterwards press the number 2(two), Flash Stock ROM via odin, and then follow the steps.
If this doesn't work for you consult with the original poster of the ROM in a private message and let him know that you screwed up and that it's your fault for not reading and you would really appreciate his help.
I'm sorry I seem mean about all of this by the way it's nothing personal and in fact I was treated much worse back in the Sprint Epic 4G Touch forums way back when and I learned a lot from their criticism.
Keep learning the terminology and skills and you'll get it down soon enough.
A bit of advice as well...don't flash a ROM that isn't the same O.S. level as your stock phone. (Ice Cream Sandwich stock/ ICS custom ROM)
Maybe it's because you tried flashing Jellybean 4.1.4.

I am a complete Android noob so pardon me beforehand. I have a rooted ATT Galaxy S3. I recently flashed 2 CM 10.1 nightly builds. I wasn't happy with the performance of the ROMs and want to reset my phone to stock rom ( default out of the box ICS Touchwiz UX). What ROM file do I need to download and what method to use to restore/flash (TWRP, Odin, etc.) I have read countless threads on this but still have not understood how to go about doing this, so don't blame me about spam. Thanks for all your help!

Preface: I take no responsibility for any actions you take or any resulting consequences. I am merely giving you information related to your question. If you choose to follow it, that is solely your decision.
Read all directions before taking any action.
First make sure you have ODIN which can be downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686
Then download your Original Stock System here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625
Next install the Samsung Device Drivers to your computer if you don't already have them from here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I747MBBATT
Once installed put your phone into Download mode (power off the phone, then press and hold Volume Down + Home and then Power while holding all 3 until you get to a warning screen. Release the buttons and press Volume Up to continue).
Plug the phone into the computer and open ODIN. Leave everything completely and entirely default. Press the PDA button and locate the .tar.md5 stock firmware you downloaded and press Start.
Your phone will restart and more than likely get stuck at the Samsung logo while booting. Hold the Volume Up + Power until the phone turns off (or do a battery pull). Go directly into Recovery (Volume Up + Home + Power) and choose to wipe cache and perform Factory Reset. Once done reboot the device and you will be completely 100% unrooted stock.
NOTE: This will not reset your flash counter. If you wish to go to complete fresh out of the box you will need to download Triangle Away and flash it on a stock rooted ROM. To do that you can either buy the app from the play store, recommended to support the developer, or download it from the developers thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
Instead of flashing the ROM above flash the one located in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
and follow all the same steps above. This will give you rooted stock. Once done install the Triangle Away app as noted above and follow the directions.
Once completely done, go back into download mode, confirm the counter is 0 (blue text top left of screen) and proceed to follow all steps above to get to unrooted stock status.
P.S. Let me know if you have anymore questions. =)
P.S.S. The above links will flash 100% stock including Modem, ROM, Recovery and Kernel (among other stock items). It is a complete Stock Image as if you took it out of the box for the very first time. The only thing this will not do is restore NV Data or EFS folder if they were corrupted. NV Data / EFS folder contains your IMEI which allows you to connect to the network. If your IMEI shows 0, This will not help you.

He had said he wanted out of the box touchwiz, unfortunately if he flashes his nandroid it won't flash his original recovery / unroot / reset his counter.
However, if he doesn't mind the custom recovery / root (which is a good idea anyways to get rid of bloatware) then this method is absolutely recommended.

correct on both statements. i only suggested recovering his nandroid because he didnt mention unrooting and, honestly, i was afraid your reply might have made his head explode. haha. seriously, your post was awesome and spot on. with him being a self-admitted noob, i was hoping to get him back to stock firmware as simply as possible. at some point, if he wishes to fully unroot (either today via your posted methods or down the road), he'll hopefully do some reading up and get himself familiar with the procedures so he feels more comfortable with all the acronyms/terms/protocol.
cheers, RPelham. you always have great and knowledgeable responses on this forum.

Thanks! As do you!
To be honest, I was thinking my post may overwhelm the OP a bit, I tried to be as detailed as possible as to not miss any information and he could follow step by step. Your method is definitely much easier and will ultimately achieve the same goal. I always recommend keeping root/recovery as it adds so much more power and functionality to the phone without sacrificing the stock feel if that's that you prefer.
Any other link to download this? Devhost is giving me network error at 99%
Another method?
Hey guys, would I just be able to flash this official samsung zip file from their open source website?

Just wanted to say thanks RPellham. I had Rooted my AT&T LTE i747 Galaxy S3, and installed Clockwork Mod custom recovery. I have to say, i'm a level 3 IT guy for a large ad agency in NYC, and this was frustrating and took at least 4-5 hours. (a lot of that was download time however)
I used the same tool (the samsung galaxy s3 toolkit 7.0) That i had used to root and flash the custom recovery, to unroot and flash the stock recovery. This all seemed to go well, and i waited for the OTA update.
that took about 8 hours to download thanks to at&t's servers. (sigh) Then; this morning when i went to take a look, it had failed. So i found a thread with a kid who was nice enough to provide the update here in zip form, to use with the built in stock recovery.
I rebooted into stock recovery ~ and tried the update.zip. again, failed. Sigh.
at this point i go to this thread, (why i'm posting) and downloaded the entire stock image, and followed the instructions here, restored to stock with ODIN. At this point i then restarted in custom recovery again, and tried to apply the same zip, which worked this time.
I'm finally on stock 4.1.2 / multi window etc.
Just figured i would say thanks and share; in-case anyone else was in the same situation, and didn't know which way to go.
Please for the love of god, back up your IMEI info. I went from CM10.1 nightly to CM10.2 and lost my IMEI number. I was able to inject it but I wasn't able to get anymore than EDGE. I have to get a replacement

You download the stock tar and flash it with odin.
Upgrading rooted 4.1.1 to rooted 4.1.2
My i747 is rooted but otherwise stock 4.1.1. I received a notice that ATT wants to perform an OTA to 4.1.2. I told it to upgrade but when it reboots to start the upgrade the phone reboots into TWRP. If I get out of TWRP the system says the upgrade failed. Since the upgrade 4.1.2 file did download, I thought I could install it using TWRP but I don't know the upgrade file name or where it's stored on the phone. Can someone help me or am I dreaming that I cane use TWRP to upgrade from a rooted 4.1.1 to a rooted 4.1.2?

I restored my backup (nandroid)
I am back on 4.1.1 (looks stock) still rooted. I am super noob.
My phone works perfect. It works exactly as a it did back in March 2013 (when I did my back up).
Problem is my phone wants to do OTA. Would that be a terrible idea to accept?

I tried to flash my SGH-I747M running 4.3 back to this stock ROM, but it just fails out. Specifically, it fails with:
aboot.mbn
NAN Write Start!!
FAIL! (Auth)
The reason I am going back is because when the device upgraded to 4.3 it brought with it KNOX, which blocks SuperSU.
Since my copy of SuperSU came over with Chainfire's CWM-SuperSU-v0.87.zip, I am unable to update it via Play Store (for the Knox fix).
So, that was my reason for wanting to regress.
I'm not sure what my options are now.

I am also a noob at this. I plan to bring my phone back in for a trade soon but ATT might not accept it in its current state. Will this guide fully restore it to the point where they can't tell the difference?
Once knox has been tripped, you can't change it back. AT&T may not check for this.
So I'm running 4.1.2 on my Rogers gs3 and am using the MrRobinson method to root (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426)
Since I am using a mac, I am running VMware to run Windows 7. I followed the steps in the thread/related video:
-shut down phone/run download mode
-Open Odin
-plug phone in using micro usb that came with phone
-under PDA, find xxx.tar.md5 file for Rogers 4.1.2
-let Odin do some verification (automatically happens once i select the md5 file)
-Click start
at this point nothing occurs - I get the 0/0 message that is seen in the video. However, nothing happens to the phone, it remains in download mode with no changes on screen.
I've tried restarting the phone and restarting Odin, but nothing seems to work.
Does anybody have any idea where I should go from here? I am hardly an expert with technology and am terrified of bricking my phone (the phone is working normally at the moment, it is not in download mode).

have you tried easy root, or researched and found other methods simpler to root or load up custom Roms because bricking is a bad thing but am sure you have to search how to put in download mode, idont know if its the same with the AT&T Galaxy S3 i747 but if it is then
hold volume up button + power button + home button at the same time until you get into download mode then load up some stock rom with ODIN and just about 5-10 later depending on your phone it will boot up but before all that ODIN has to verify on the top right box that its working and ready to go with the process
icant say alot since am too lazy just search how to do it on google, youtube, other forums or even here on XDA am pretty sure yu will learn and fix your problem in just about time to enjoy the goodness of rooting/customs
bear with me i was like that once i started rooting but months and i feel like i can do anything but not messing with files, scripts etc or the kernel am still learning the ways of rooting and customs roms
yu just need to take your fast step , man up and yu will conquer rooting, that is much do your thing remember dont brick it
Hi all my name is Blake and I'm a noob. (Sigh) thanks in advance for answering my stupid questions and being the awesome intelligent human bada$$es you are and helping teach me to better understand and operate my phone! So I rooted my phone a while back (4.3) or at least attempted it but I think Knox or something along those lines was preventing the process from completing so I had a friend help me out to complete the root so I'm still not 100% on how to do this. So I want to upgrade to 4.4 assuming it's better but more importantly my phone has a lot of quirks and bugs that annoy the living crap out of me and I won't waste u r time listing them unless you need me to and I'm hoping updating will solve some of them and if not I'll be back to forum surfing... anyways I'm rooted and need to know how to get to where I can get the ota update and then root it or however would be easiest to get the update and back to being rooted? I tried reading and understanding the existing threads but I'm still learning the terminology and i couldn't quite understand the ones i could find. Also this is probably a stupid question but is there an app or anything that will magically go through my phone and fix any stupid bugs and stuff!

I know you wanted a video I don't have all of the equipment to do so .. this is just a lot of words but simple easy steps.
Best possible solution for you if you really wanted the 4.4 update (nothing really has changed except the basic updates (firmware/modem)
... nothing noticeable except when you click on About Phone lol and you see 4.4.2 and the description of your system. That's really it.
But if you really want to give it a try the best solution for you is:
1 ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR PHONE!
This WILL BE UNROOTED BUT WILL GIVE THE OPTION TO BE ROOTED IF YOU WOULD LIKE
2 Download Odin if you haven't already and download the .tar file for 4.4.2 (the OTA Update)
When you extracted everything and opened Odin make sure Auto Reboot and F Reset Time is the ONLY ones checked.
3 Put the .tar file in PDA on Odin and put your phone in download mode (home, vol down, and power) when it comes up press vol up and it will show downloading .. it may show NOT RESPONDING give it a minute it usually will load up
Attach the usb cable from computer to phone once it registers it (will say added) click start. let it finish and you will have a complete wipe of 4.4.2 STOCK ROM --- UNROOTED!
FOLLOW THESE STEPS (COLOR MATCH) TO BE ROOTED ..... 4.4.2 ROOTED OR 4.3 ROOTED
-THIS IS THE START FOR BOTH --
1 Download your custom recovery (Philz or TWRP) ... I use Philz it's simple and and does everything for you to make sure it goes through.
2 Open Odin once more (same checked) turn your phone off wait for the vibration to indicate it is completely off then put it in download mode.
3 Place your recovery in PDA then attach phone and click start.
It will reboot just turn phone off and enter recovery mode (home, vol UP, and power). If the recovery doesn't show (sometimes it won't due to knox again) Then try again this way:
Phone off, place recovery in PDA, attach phone, and UNCLICK Auto-Reboot and push start. It will show downloading wait for Odin to show pass then boot in recovery from the screen you are on by just pushing home vol up and power. It should load that time.
Once it's loaded...
FOR 4.4.2 - ROOTED
3. Factory reset/clean to install new rom ...
DO NOT wipe cache just simply factory reset ..wait.. done ... clean to install new rom .. wait .. done.
If you do you will get a Status 7 or an error message.
4. Flash rom
5. Reboot
-It may ask you if you want to disable custom recovery make sure you hit NO!
You will need to update SU on playstore. And you should be good to go (had problems the first few times).
FOR 4.3 - ROOTED
DO NOT TRY FLASHING .TAR THROUGH ODIN. It will fail everytime because you can not downgrade firmware through it.
1. You will need to go back to stock unrooted with this HERE (MC2 Download only)
2 Make sure you have the MC2 Download -- or you will receive a Status 7 .. which means you don't have the right rom to update from.
3 Once you're on the MC2 firmware I believe it is the 4.2 version.
4 Turn off phone, enter recovery mode and flash this MC2 to Mk4 Rooted (NEED TO HAVE MC2 first!)
5 Reboot - if it asks to disable custom recovery make sure you press NO or it will unroot it at start up.
.
Hi Everyone,
I am a new owner of a soft-bricked SM-T700. I am feeling very down and need some advice. I will be as thorough as I possibly can and I would truly, truly appreciate some help and advice from you kind folks. This is the first time I have had a bricked device out of my many Android devices.
My PLAN:
-Root
-Custom Recovery
-Nandroid Backup
-Backup EFS
-Flash stock western country firmware
What HAPPENED
Today I bought a wifi T700. I bought it in my hometown, which is China. Whenever I buy a new Android device in China my first action is to ensure it doesn't have any hardware/warranty issues. I then go about reflashing a western firmware so I can use Google services.
1) First I rooted using CF-Auto Root. That worked fine. I confirmed that I had root using an app called root checker.
2) I then attempted to flash TWRP recovery by following the instructions here: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/238
- First I tried flashing the .tar file using Odin. As soon as I hit 'Start' Odin froze and I got the Windows error saying "Odin Downloader Has Stopped Working", asking to close the program. I close the program. I tried this several times then rebooted. It seemed as though the phone booted fine.
- I then tried using their own software, TWRP manager, here: http://jmzsoftware.com/twrp-manager-4. This app just crashed every time I booted it. I submitted an error log.
- I then tried using 'Flashify' as suggested by someone here on XDA. Once I did that it said flashed successfully and would I like to reboot. I said yes. This is when my troubles started.
3) Upon reboot it immediately booted into a sparse looking 'Download Mode' screen, all in English (the normal one on mine has some Chinese too) without the volume button options to reboot or continue. It just went straight into this screen.
After trying to reboot the phone using several power button holds and key combinations, it appears I am stuck in this screen, so I thought I had no chance of doing a NADROID backup as originally planned, so I decided to try my luck and flash the western firmware.
I tried to flash the version of the firmware provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798835
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358556680
It got all the way through the install until it hit the hidden.img and then failed. I've attached a screen capture.
A few notes;
I have tried using two different USB cables (the one that came with it, and the one that came with my HTC One). I have tried several USB plugs, including the one in the back of my PC. I allowed Odin to do it's MD5 check and it said the file checks out.
I have tried using the Kies emergency Firmware recovery. Pffft! As it that was going to work. Damn Kies.
I sound like I've still got my sense of humor, but actually I am really cut up about this. It is so much money for a tablet and now it is useless unless I can get s firmware that will flash.
I don't have my stock Chinese firmware. That is T700ZCU1ANF4/T700CHN1ANF4/T700ZCU1ANF4/T700ZCU1ANF4 (CHN).
Questions:
Does anyone know where I could find the stock Chinese firmware to try flashing back to that?
Does anyone have the .PIT file and instructions on how to flash that, because I have read in other threads that it solves the hidden.img problem.
Does anyone know why this may have happened and have any alternative suggestions?
Could it have been the TWRP that actually caused this? The thread here indicates others aren't having trouble. Why would it have frozen for me?
I will try anything at this point. I am desperate.
Thanks so much in advance. Please come through XDA! Please come through Galaxy Tab S owners!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------
CLOSURE EDIT: I managed to flash Australian firmware, after reinstalling Kies, uninstalling and reinstalled the device drivers. I also made sure all Kies processes were killed before flashing with Odin.
For people in a similar situation I would urge them to have patience and keep trying to flash stock firmware.
Private Message UpInTheAir and see what he thinks.
Well let me start out by saying i have done some truely horrible things to my tablet in the proceas of porting CM 11. Bad kernels, messing up the partitions, you name it ive probably done it at this point.
I would try using heimdall. Flash one of the recoveries.. and try formatting your partitions.
The program crashing is when you should back off from trying to flash. Reassess what you did and what happened and if it's failing at a point flash the stock back before rebooting.
Continuing blindly was the problem. On something as expensive as a tablet never continue past a point where something goes wrong without reflashing back to stock and starting again.
As eousphoros said Use heimdall and flash a recovery.
Good luck.

Hi All,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
You are certainly right that it is my fault and I should have stopped at some point and reassessed what was happening.
Can you please give me some more information about the steps you have offered? I am researching heimdall now, but if you could give some steps or advice that would be much appreciated.
It's probably going to be difficult because I assume we are in different timezones. I will persevere and try to get this worked out.
I have downloaded Heimdall and understand that it is an alternative to using Odin.
I currently have three questions about Heimdall.
1. Do I need to do the install drivers step if I have already installed the drivers for my device? Is this some step that actually replaces the current drivers with ones that are required for Heimdall to operate? I ask them because when I list USB devices, my tab is not shown up as Samsung Composite Device. It is actually shown as two separate entries, looking like generic USB entries.
2. Do I need to have a valid PIT file in order to run a custom Heimdall flash?
3. Which partition should I select if/when I run the Heimdall flash?
I'm dying a little inside every time I look at my tablet
Install heimdall
Download a recovery, I am going to pimp mine. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/cwm-recovery-6-0-5-0-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-t2824099.
Run sudo ~/git/Heimdall/heimdall/heimdall flash --RECOVERY cwm6.0.5.0-2.img. Wait for it to complete, your tablet will reboot and will probably fail like it has been.
Hold down Power + Vol Down + Home button... wait for the "Press vol up to continue, press vol down to cancel"
Press vol down to cancel, then immediately hold down Power + Vol Up + Home button till you see the recovery screen pop up.
If you get the recovery screen your tablet can probably still be saved. Woo!
So then download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798835 (Which i think you already have)
Unzip it, there will be a tar file. tar xvf T700....something.tar.md5 -C some_directory
You will get a bunch of img files. From those you should be able to finish the recovery and hopefully return full function to your device. (Which unless something is physically broken you will most likely be able to do.) Good Luck! And again this is all done at your own risk, please dont sue me.

First of all, let me just say that OH MY F#@$ING GOD I THINK THE NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!!! I managed to flash the Australian Firmware successfully. It has now booted fine, I have factory reset and I am in the process of setting up the device afresh.
Having said that, when I do come to reroot and install a custom recovery, I will definitely take a look at yours. Was this here 12 hours ago? I looked and couldn't find anything about CWM except for a short thread and an unofficial port. I have never tried TWRP before and I will avoid it like the plague in the future. I have NEVER had trouble with CWM.
When (if ever) I get the nerve up to give this another go, I will try your CWM.
Thanks again.
I am so relieved right now.....
And make a Nandroid first this time
Hey,
I had the exact same issue with my Galaxy Note 8, every time I tried to install European or custom Rom.
The only way to get the tab back was to flash with the Chinese firmware. You may find it easily on Baidu.
Since it happened also with a note 2 and note 3, I stopped buying Android device in China... Unless you can make sure that you buy a model coming from HK.
Hi everybody.
In order not to create another Thread I would like to leave a request for help in here while searching the answer myself.
I've messed up with SM-T700 and it is suffering a "near brick expirience" now. D:
I wanted to install the TWRP in order to backup the stock ROM before proceeding to anything else. So I put it in download mode. In Odin. 3.09 I put the TWRP under the AP section, the auto-reboot and f-reset were checked. (later I understood that I look at a different chrome tab and followed the instuction for auto-root flashing in via Odin instead of TWRP's. Stupid me) THen I proceeded with flashing and it was succesfull. After that I rebooted to recovery but it was not TWRP but stock. So I went to Download mode again and decided to repeat the procedure. Hower this time, and each time after that Odin stuck with the SetupConnection... The tab itself is stuck in Downloading Do not tur off target!! and does not react to any combinations of buttons.
Looking for a piece of advice here.
At least Odin is detecting the tab is a good sign right?
Attaching the photo and screenshot just in case.

Replying to myself: The tab began to respond to buttons so now I succesfully rebooted it and will continue with Rooting then recovery
Added: Rooted successful but the same problem as described above occured when I tryied to flash TWRP in Odin under PDA tab unchecked the auto-reboot

Yeah I've had a really bad experience with TWRP on this device. Try flashing a firmware from sammobile.com or elsewhere to at least get it up and running again. Try to do that as quickly as possible too, so you don't have to leave the device in download mode all night. I think that is what caused the battery swelling in my first device that I had to return.
I'm going to stick with CWM when I work up the courage to try again....

TWRP installs OK via TWRP Manager
I installed TWRP Manager, selected 'klimtwifi' as the device, and it successfully installed TWRP 2.7.1.1 without a hitch.
From TWRP I then immediately performed a nandroid backup of everything but the caches to my microSD card and encountered no problems.
The last step was to enable writing to my microSD card by installing NextApp SDFix.
My SM-T700 is bricked as well and I tried to flash a custom recovery with Heimdall on Mac but it gave me the Error "Claiming Interface failed". Seems like you really need the pit.

Hey, @Syaiffurroizt
You're better off using Odin to restore the stock image for your phone. May I ask what region you are in? Reply in 2-letter format so I can give you the right advice. (example: My region is US [United States]).
Don't use Kies. It will detect root and refuse to install or restore backups. Odin can be found here. Typically, on Samsung devices, in order to access Bootloader, as you reboot the phone, hold Volume Down and Home while it reboots. It should take you into download mode. Ignore the warning and Continue.
Before you connect your SM-T311 to your PC, make sure the drivers work (If you have Kies installed you can skip this step).
Connect your USB cable AFTER you open Odin. It should display a COM:## added! near the top of the window.
Put the md5 sum for your stock ROM in the PDA section of Odin. ( This is where I need to know your region so you are getting the right software)
PLEASE BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA, AS THE NEXT STEP WILL SURELY WIPE YOUR EXISTING ROM ALTOGETHER, INCLUDING INTERNAL MEMORY. I SUGGEST EJECTING ALL EXTERNAL STORAGE PRIOR TO REBOOTING YOUR PHONE.
Now check off F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot, and hit Start. Avoid interrupting the flash process as you can brick your device, rendering it useless. I suggest you use AC power even if you are using a laptop for a safety net.
When it's done, you will have your stock ROM back and original (factory) binary, too.
Please hit thanks if this works for you.
