Using Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver via USB - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Has anyone been successful in getting a wireless 360 controller to work on their GNex with the wireless receiver via USB? I've seen it working on the Nexus 7:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818552
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792531
However these fixes don't work when copied across to our device. It simply isn't detected either by the OS or by games/emulators. Anyone with a little more know how could explain why it isn't working? Thanks

When I did it I had to use an app called USB TO JOY or something and re-map everything.
Edit: USB/BT JoyCenter

Interesting, I did see that app mentioned but only when using the wired USB controller and not the receiver. It successfully managed to map the wireless buttons even though it doesn't navigate the homescreens etc?

[Q] Wiimote/SIXAXIS Controller on t989

Has anyone had any success with getting a Wiimote or SIXAXIS controller on their t989? I've attempted to get a Wiimote to work to no avail. I haven't been able to test a SIXAXIS since I don't have one. I'm using the Gingersnap rom on my device.
Any thoughts, suggestions or solutions are welcome!
The Wiimote does not work, however I have seen that the Sixaxis controller will work very well

I've got a sixaxis controller working. You need the sixaxis app from the market. I got it to work with whitehawxx stock rooted rom and macnut's revenge. Just follow the steps on the sixaxis' dev's website and it'll work fine.
here is my video on youtube using the ps3 controller with my old white galaxy s2. http://youtu.be/23lXN3hK1nA
u need this app. this will run a test to make sure it will work for your phone, before u buy it. https://market.android.com/details?...kaW9zLnNpeGF4aXNjb21wYXRpYmlsaXR5Y2hlY2tlciJd
then if it says it works then just buy the app for 1.99 in the market. then u need to be rooted in order to even use this app.
hope this helps a little bit for you.
the market is telling me that the SIXAXIS app isnt compatible with my device.
im running darkside Dewizzed 2.5.2

Well thanks for all your replies. I was able to get the SIXAXIS controller working. For those wondering how to get it connected, first you have to pair the device with a computer by using a tool like sixpair for linux which basically spoofs your Android device's Bluetooth MAC address on your computer's Bluetooth adapter. Once successfully paired with your computer with the spoofed MAC, the controller will easily pair with your phone.

onlive gaming on nexus 7 with ps3 controller?

hello,
I know there is a patch to make any controller playable on onlive but that is for desktop onlive correct? is there a way make it so we can use a ps3 controller on onlive on our nexus 7?? Or do i have to buy there controller to use with my nexus 7? i need something until the nyko android gamepad comes out!
any info would be greatly appreciated....
ty
As a wired controller it worked out of the box with no additional apps.
My setup being OTG adapter and a standard mini usb lead to the controller
Only tested with deus ex and saints row on onlive.
To use as a wireless controller requires the sixaxis app or similar, I've had no luck with this so far although the app makes has the option to show the wireless controller as a sixaxis so it should work.. I might test that one again..
I'm when I did try i could only navigate menus. it was like the onlive didn't accept there was a controller and came up with that message (a controller is required to play this game)
Just tested and what I've said is correct.
Install this onlive app and u can use any controller with it. Onlive will recognize them as an official controller and u can play any game. Including six axis over Bluetooth. http://db.tt/nn0hUg8e

I haven't tried this wired yet (no OTG cable), but but I can't seem to get the patched Online app to work with the PS3 controller and Sixaxis app. Anyone else have any luck with this yet?

Yes, using the patched app and Sixaxis you just need to tick the 'Enable Gamepad" option to enable native gamepads.
Not really a tutorial, but proof that it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwSW1N7rtBw
That works!

Awesome, thanks! Now I just need to have a decent internet connection I guess.
Yes it works well, this is one of the first things I did with my tablet when I got it. Now I just need to figure out how the patch was done, cause unfortunately it uses the on live version before the last which had some performance improvements. Got it decompiled now I gotta dig around in smali. I'll definitely post anything if I can isolate the patch and apply to newest version.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do I install this? I have tried multiple times and it tells me that the install fails because there is a pre existing program with conflicting signatures.
Thanks in advance!!
how do you map?
So it works but the buttons are mapped in a fashion that makes is unusable - where do you properly map the buttons on the ps3 controller (don't see how within onlive)

Galaxy S III as a PC

Hi guys,
is it possible to connect SIII to TV, mice and keyboard at once? Is there a dock out there to make this possible? Will the mice AND keyboard work through Bluetooth when I connect the SIII to TV via MHL adapter?
Thanks in advance.

does the phone get power trough the mhl->hdmi adapter?
Hi all,
Can somebody confirm that it works and use mhl and bluetooth keyboard and mice? Did someone found dock?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yes it works but you need a standalone Bluetooth keyboard/mouse as the hdmi will use the micro sd slot so no dongle.
The hdmi has a slot for the phone charger- in fact it won't work without it
What about a dock? Did anybody found one with hdmi or micro usb output so J can connect mhl kabel?

Probably too early the cables only been available for a few weeks. Just dont get anything compatible with s2 as samsung changed the hdmi pin arrangement on s3.
Or you can wait for the allshare cast dongle then you can use usb hub with an OTG setup

Hi,
can you pls explain more in details?
Thank you
The setup he means is to use the accesory that Samsung will sell (dont know when), to cast your phone screen to your HDTV (up to 1080p) called "all cast share dongle", this connection is wireless so you will be able to connect a keyboard, mouse and HD...using a USB hub and a USB OTG cable.

Nice, that is what I am talking about
Is it possible to somehow adjust the resolution on the monitor, because it is just a big copy of your mobile screen.
If it is possible to make the icons smaller? I want to use my phone for browsing and I dont want huge panel in the browser.
thx
Lukas
not really. but for browsing u can use a browser which uses full screen like the stock one, and request desktop sites.

How to Longpress

Maybe stupid question, but I searched these forums and couldn't find an answer. Is there any way to send a longpress using the controller?

Not sure what you mean, but holding the O button when something is "blue " does the trick for me.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
yes holding the O button down works in most cases but there's no solution for dragging icons, or dragging anything for that matter. The touchpad doesn't have long click. I installed apex launcher and I can't move the shortcuts. I would love some kind of touchpad app I can run on my phone, like I do with my pc. A touchpad server on the ouya and an app as touchpad client on my phone.

doesn't otg work? I haven't tried connecting a mouse yet. But a phone touchpad app is more convenient from the bed. With XBMC i can use yatse on my phone and that is perfect. It might work with MirrorOp but then I need to root the Ouya. I don't even know if that is possible yet, haven't read up.

There's a full size USB port that serves as host port (i.e. you can plug in a wireless mouse). The Ouya is rooted. There's another thread that lists the details. I'm working right now to get a more automated one-click root/superuser install/recovery install method going.

I may know how to long press.
In Nova you can double tap and hold the second tap to move icons. This may work in all apps, I can't recall.
I just bought an active usb extension cable and hub rather than investing in bluetooth devices. I'm hoping that may allow using the hub on the couch rather than on the OUYA.

note 3 PS3 controler

I have an UNROOTED note 3. I purchased the official Samsung OTG cable to connect my sixaxis ps3 controler to the note 3.
phone. I have sixaxis checked under language and input.I hit the ps3 button and it just flashes for a while and turns off. The phone recognized that a usb device is connected.
You still need sixaxis app. To configure everything. With root the only difference is blue tooth versus being connected through OTG.

i do have the sixaxis app. I have the ime set to sixaxis. in the sixaxis software I have gamepad checked. Still cant get any sort of control out of it. I just ordered a new otg cable to see if that is the issue. Anyone want to spend some time and do a small right up. Every video I;ve seen show you just hook it up and it works.
