I have the r800x, rooted, custom notification bar icons, and custom boot animation, locked bootloader (so no custom rom, kernel, etc). The touchscreen has stopped working. Luckily verizon is sending another one for free. My question is, since I can still access and use cwm recovery, if I factory reset the phone, will they still be able to tell it was rooted? And will a reset wipe the custom icons and screen?
Factory reset will only wipe your data and not boot animation or fonts.
And if you dont want to tell them you are rooted then flash stock frm via flashtool or update phone using seus. Phone will be like it was before

Flash the stock firmware via Flashtool, and all signs of root will be gone

I have a r800i and when I try to boot it with DoomKernel ICS v0.3 it always boot into the recovery even though I have a room installed.
I installed xDark ICS by opening the zip. I also did a factory wipe, wiped the cache, the debian one, but it still only boots into recovery. When I used DoomKernal v14 with the NXT rom, it boots fine although I can't enter recovery (so I can't patch the wifi). Using the default ftf everything works normally.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've also search the forums for similar problems but I've only found similar problems with other phones using other kernals and roms.
I am having the same problem, except I cannot even get at recovery, it just sits at Kernel splash screen. Otherwise I'd have restored my nandroid backup already.
I flashed ics doomkernel, factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik then flashed rom in CWM and now my device is stuck.
Bootloader unlocked r800a
Can anyone help us two?

:highfive:Both cases sound like bad flashes. For the first post I'd say CWM restore it and try to reflash. For the second post, I'd say use flashtool on your pc and flash a stock rom again.
Hello,
I have rooted my device and installed Recovery.
Then in Recovery I wipe dalvik and format system. After that i wanted to install a rom, but it hangs.
So i put out the battery, and now my sony arc s is hanging on the logo.
How can I resolve this please?
How is the button for recovery?
Or another advice
Thank you
Why did you wipe dalvik and system.....
Are installing custom Rom? if so go back and read Carefully what is needed, you might need custom kernel or need to wipe clean other things as well.
you may need to reflash the phone either with pc companion Or with flashtools. To get back to stock

Got in the same situation, had to remove battery. What I did to get out of this is reflash .42 firmware(GB) with flashtool.
For now, I'm glad to stick with .62, more games can run & with less fc issues unlike ICS.
Press the Back Button on Startup sveral times . After the splashscreen you see the recovery .
Hey guys! I've searched alot about this issue but I couldn't find anyone having this problem.
I've got the Xperia arc LT15i with the stock kernel and some 2.3.7 custom rom... can't remember exactly nw.
Off late my phone was responding very slow, so I entered the CWM recovery, cleared the dalvik cache and then performed a factory reset from CWM recovery itself.
Now the problem I face is that I do not get a lockscreen... the default slide to unlock one?
Is it of any use to mention that I used to use linktosd and linked nearly all apps to SD card.
Help would be greatly appreciated
reflash stock rom with flashtool and then flash custom rom, or if you can still access cwm, flash custom rom again
Try this
Go to settings/security/lockscreen security.
Choose slide (the second one)

I've got the intergalactic ROM installed on my S3 and I've had it for a while. I want to change ROMs but every time I flash a new one it flashes fine but when the phone boots up it tells me the setup wizard failed and a bunch of other stuff stopped working. any ideas on what it could be?
I'm using CWM.
Also if I just wanted to wipe everything on my phone and go back to stock so that I can re root it and try flashing roms then how would I do that?
You probably just need to factory reset. If you wanted to go back to stock rooted, flash the root66 firmware via odin then boot recovery and factory reset. Note that factory reset from stock recovery will wipe internal sd. From cwm/twrp it will leave internal sd alone unless you "format data".

My friend wanted me to root his phone. Everything went fine. Then I restarted the phone, got into CWM recovery and now it keeps bootlooping. I can't do anything because the volume keys are missing for some reason. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try wiping cache and Dalvik in recovery.
Still not working. I think it's because I tried installing a custom ROM? Idk.
Did you do a full wipe before installing the custom ROM? You can try going back into recovery and wiping cache, Dalvik, and data.
Yup. I did all 3 of em like 5 times already. And I'm assuming there's no fix for it. I can't use the volume keys so I can't do download or safe mode.
Since the phone is still able to boot except for being able to use the volume keys, you could use a jig to get into download and flash a stock ROM via Odin as long as the phone was not running the stock 4.3 bootloader.
Where can I find a stock ROM? I've tried sam mobile but it keeps saying the file could not be found.
Search here for the i747 firmware: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
