One question guys, why do you pin so many apps on homescreen (especially the ones which don't have functional live tiles)? Wouldn't it be better to get them from the app list?

...For me it is important to reach all Apps very fast, and that`s why i pin them to the homescreen.
And YES, Bilder means Pictures
i like big tiles for lively fun apps and small tiles
for utilities

Got launcher pro now, but I still don't know how to add that cool looking clock (it's not on the widgets) that he has on the picture
If you don't want to install a whole launcher, just do a google search for "fancywidget.apk".

just search for png icons first. then, a themer can do it for you easily and in basically no time.

It's possible, of course, but it's even more easier with a MIUI ROM, so i'd say either wait till MIUI is running properly on SGS to get a full Retina theme OR get ADW launcher EX, download the icons and change each apps icons using ADW

+ 1 Agreed - Everyone should be entitled to their own personal tastes and opinions and to the O.P. have a look at the icon packs on the inter-web. There are plenty of iOS icons for you to create an iOS copy.

I don't think there'll be one single update,wp7 is too big a mess to solve in one swoop. Next year April probably we'll be smiling from ear to ear and sideloading apps we haven't even thought of. Until then its slim pickings,should have waited for the bloody Nokia.

I'm wondering if the transparent wallpaper "feature" was actually a bug that we just took advantage off. I noticed that the squares in various hubs, such as office and picture, no longer go transparent when I move from page to page like they did before mango.

Yeah man, they had to do something with Zune on the lockscreen, and it made it a huge mess. It's too bad, I did it to my friends focus and it looked beautiful. And I don't own a WP7 currently, so I will never get to enjoy it.
Maybe if we get a poll going, we could bring this to Microsoft's attention?

well i miss the favs button and the tabs button being on the screen, instead of having to use the menu, i honestly didnt mind the URL bar at the top, but whatever, I cant wait for the official Mango update to come out

I have to agree about the browser. It's not a make or break problem for me, but is kind of annoying to have that extra step. I also wish they'd give IE a Forward/Back Button instead of using the hardware Back button. Would be nice for the URL to be on top & auto-hide, swipe down to show it in portrait & landscape. Make it thicker since it'd auto hide. Just my 2 cents on it.
Also, don't like them (MS) breaking homebrew native app (INTEROPSERVICES). That is a big deal for me. That's the main reason I'm not using the Beta2. The new features are nice, but the lack of homebrew kills it for me.

It has been a while since I made a real homescreen, I had been using Windows Phone for a while before I got my Galaxy S3. You guys have no idea how suffocating those tiles were (But I still love the MetroUI).
So, I call this setup DropUI cause of the raindrops in it. I have this strange fascination about them, they calm me down. You might notice the edges have black spots, they're there so that the screen looks rounded too. Inside the screen is another layer (or I call it a base). The base has the nav, the dock and the folders. I had to include the dock inside the wallpaper and then use blank icons on my launcher cause 7x10 grid was a pain to work with.
I had seen many setups before I created this, the best and the most unique ones used SweeterHome which is a beta launcher and is clunky. I believe in functionality over looks so I chose one of the best launchers out there, Apex Launcher. (You can use GoLauncher too but Apex has some nice gesture controls.) I made most of it, I had to mash up two icon sets and add in some effects to them. (resources are listed below). Unlike most of the complex setups which make it really hard to change wallpapers, each of my homescreen changes its wallpaper automatically. I had to make couple of wallpaper variations but same wallpapers get boring after a while. The folders are made up of Simi Folder widget and the text is made up of Minimalistic Text.

I have attached my wallpapers and fonts used. Refer the the deviant Art page for widgets used. I have a bit of work to do today so tutorial will take about 2-3days. But youre free to have a go at it.
