I've seen this and reviews a while back but it's not my cup of tea... Though I can say that for anyone other than past loyal customers $30 is probably too high a price. Cost of materials can't be more than $5-$10. I'm really not trying to be **** either just stating my 2¢

yeah exactly. i couldn't agree more @
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
The product isn't worth $30 but they have a patent pending on it. I own one and i have to say, i love using it. I swapped back to my old Incipio Sillicrylic because I was in an environment that need the extra cover. After I got home, i swapped back to the Flygrip right away. I like that it doesn't bulge my phone up all around and i can touch every part of the screen without feeling that i'll slip the phone through my hands and end up in mud/water/concrete. It took me a while to get used to putting my fingers through it. in the end, i'm satisfied.
It's a little steep in price, but I was more than willing to pay for it and might buy another since mine is just slightly large. It is really useful and I get so many comments on it. Plus it's really cool that it doubles as a stand in both landcape and portrait modes. My only regret is that it definitely means it will be inconvenient to do the wireless charging hack and I think it might interfere with Google wallet. In the wireless charging hack the phone must sit flush with the charging pad and it may be the same with using Google wallet to pay via PayPass. I'm still looking into that last one.
yeah that's my only complaint as well and if it interferes with S Beam, etc

I've just tested last night with my girlfriend's S3 and it works perfectly fine. She has the Incipio Sillicrilic case and I had my Flygrip. even though that 1+ cm distance from both phones, i've sent a song and a few pictures successfully.
$29.95.
WOW....... Price is ridiculous. I usually pay for an over priced item now and then for something I am interested in but the price on the FlyGrip is really pushing it. Most defiantly passing on this product!

the double sided tape is from 3M so it should stick no problem unless the outer shell is soft. but that's going to be pretty thick attaching the flygrip to it. i'm using the flygrip solo and it feels very secure. i haven't dropped my phone(knock on wood).

I personally have taken my phone under water using a generic water proof bag. They were 3 for $10 USD. the only problem I had was if the water put pressure on the screen it would go crazy..... I just added more air to it and held it so I had to push through the air to select what I want. Ie picture or video

Well but the skin is definetely not made for a daily use i reckon, I mean to make sure it is 100% waterproof you always have to use a new strip of sealing tape after charging, right?
Would be good to have a modified battery cover for contactless charging. I´m starting to work on a diving base for the next 2 months, and would be good to have something covering my GNx from water.

This is true. The lifeproof case cost over a million USD to develop, and they lucked out that the iPhone 4s was compatible. Not nearly enough people own enough Gnex to make it profitable, plus the GSM would need a completely different case from the LTE. FInally, my own experience with the case sucked. You can only take it off/on 50x before it breaks (not waterproof) and it destroys sensitivity. It's something you only want when theres water around, but you can only take it off/on 50x which sucks. Also, you have to test it every time before you submerge it. The waterproof bags are way better IMO.
Just received it today from Verizon online. The color is real close to the pebble blue color. It just has a eggshell finish. It does not come with a screen protector however they did include a phone stand. Buttons work great!

Thanks for the pics. Is this case one or two pieces? Also, do you think it's a case that could easily be removed and put back on several times a day with ease and not lose it's grip or form? I'm asking because I'm very interested in this case but I'm also getting a car dock and whether I get a universal dock or custom dock depends on if the case I'm using can be easily removed. Also, how do you think it would protect against drops versus slightly bulkier cases like the Otterbox Commuter or Seidio Active cases? Thanks very much.
It's two pieces much like a seidio active case. It is real easy to install and remove.
Here is a video review of a different color one from sprint. The Verizon one has a stand instead of the screen protector.

I have the white version of the case and I'm not impressed. It feels a little too big and bulky. I put it on my SG3 for about 15 minutes before I decided it wasn't for me. I put it back in the packaging and it's like new. If anybody wants it I'll take $15 shipped anywhere in the US.

To me the thickness is about right. Its still less bulk than the commuter. I like a little protection for this huge expensive screen.

I have this same case only in a different color blue which I actually like better. It is a brighter blue and I believe it is a T-Mobile exclusive. I think the case is nice and offers good protection for the size. It doesn't add much thickness at all but I do have one complaint which is why I'm returning it. The cell signal and Wifi signal are effected by the case. I've done numerous tests and on average, you lose two bars of WiFi and roughly 2-3mb/s download speeds on 4G. To me, the protection is not worth the signal trade off.
Strange, I haven't experienced any signal loss.

If you are on WiFi, take the case off and move to a location where you are only getting two bars. Then apply the case and watch the bars drop off. I've already done the testing with my phone, my wife's phone and a co-workers phone.

Pretty much all cases affect signal quality a bit. No reason to freak out about it. The added protection tradeoff is worth it.

This is the one I got from T-Mobile. Maybe it is a different case than the one you have and don't get any signal loss with. It is called the Silicrylic Dual Protection. I highly doubt Incipio changed the material for T-Mobile and only T-Mobile. Maybe it's the color....
IIRC tge shiny versions have some metal in them and hurt reception. The traditional silicrylics (like the VZW and others)are only silicone and poly carbonate. I have no issues on multiple phones with their traditional versions.

There's magnets on the back to hold the flap when it's opened and when it's used as a stand. They could not use a closure magnet as there isn't a bezel. I suppose they would have had to design the tablet with a closure magnet in mind like Apple did. Of course then they would be sued.

Exactly my thinking
Coming soon waterproof to 2m for 30 minutes, but I'm sure would go much longer. It's expensive but will probably be around $50 on Amazon. It's worth saving your phone and insurance or replace cost. Plus underwater pictures on a cell phone would be nice. Anybody else getting one?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
only 2m?
That is the requirement to meet the IP67 rating. A device that is certified IP67 must survive at 1 meter for 30 minutes.

I think well worth it, how many times will it be under 6 ft? I posted on the Otterbox Facebook asking if they had a waterproof case in the works but did not get a solid response. I wonder how underwater picture quality would be and if any audio would pick up. There is a case for the iPhone that is waterproof, it's about time we got something.

I was about to start a thread and remembered there already was one. So since this thread I've noticed a large increase in the number of fake lifeproof's, I'm assuming some company in china got the specs and started making replicas. Looks like the prices are in the $40 to $50 range, so who's going to be the guinea pig and buy one? Part of me wants to try it since the real lifeproof cases cost $80, but another part of me thinks that its stupid to spend $50 on something that could be complete crap. Especially if it ships from china or hong kong, if I don't like it I'd have to pay the shipping all the way back. Plus I'd have to wait 3 weeks just to get it and possibly another 3 weeks to get the refund........
Anybody want to sponsor me? I'll put a big pictorial and detailed review?
LifeProof
I'll be ordering one from a US Seller for a slightly higher markup. I can post a video review on Youtube, and here as well. I'll get it some time next week, as I'll probably order it with my birthday money or when my paycheck comes in. And hey, if you want to push $5 towards the cause, I wouldn't be opposed They look exactly like the iPhone version, even down to the packaging and colors available. one seller even mentioned that they aren't LifeProof branded, but had a 1 month return/refund/warrenty. In addition, Paypal and my bank offer a certain amount of time to make sure a product actually works (3 or 6 months, I think). I'm game for giving it a shot!
I imagine that the install would be the same as for an iPhone... and I'd want to check the seals BEFORE installing my phone... that'd be really sad.

Right, that's the whole point of this entire thread. These are FAKE or replicas or whatever you want to call them, that's why this thread got started. That's why they only cost $40 to $50 dollars. That's why some of them are from CHINA. I think I'll probably end up buying one of these once I find a white one that's being sold here in the US. I know they all are probably being made in the same place in Hong Kong or somewhere but I don't see any reason to order something and wait for a month for it to get here.
