When I play music and run another app,the music will be like stop awhile and continue and it also come out some 'cracking sound' (not my headphone problem) then continue..I'm running arhd 6.3.3 and Sd and data swap is on..and it isn't the issue abt ram but something else..I can't figure it out..any idea??

Does this happen with other music apps (winamp, doubletwist, etc..)? I know on my One X, stock music app, it will 'stop' for a second between songs. Not an issue when I'm on headphones, but an issue when I have it hooked up to my car as the interference is amplified by my amp.

Check if there is a 'flip to pause' function. I had similar issues until I realized that this is not very functional, lol.
Cracking noise.. mhm. I had to raise minimum CPU freq. to solve that. Don't know if that's your case though.

Smartaas 245-1075 screen on..scary 122-468 or higher its still the same screen off..

its probably a processing thing. when u open another app, then power is directed to opening and running the app and is most likely the cause of the hicup
sometimes when i run apps to intensively on my phone and run out of ram, i've had my music app killed before.

Oh..so its something gonna do with ram and processes.. =\

Crackly Sounds While Playing Audio

My Phone makes crackle sounds when I'm playing music, it crackles only while music is on. If I touch the screen sliding my finger it will crackkle but if I don't touch the screen the audio is fine but only crackles when I touch the screen. Plus if I hit the power button to turn off screen sometimes it will crackle as well.
PowerAmp,Music Player,TuneInRadio etc.... this just tarted to happen a few days ago. Can someone explain this to me. Because these crackle sounds need to go away it sounds bad.

There are at least two possibly major elements you're leaving out in your description. One, how if and where are you plugged in for power (if so using what cables) and two, what are you using to listen - phone speaker or headphones and if so, what kind/how are they connected? These things may have a big effect on your sound and issues with it.
Running Voodoo sound by any chance? If so it is a known issue and there is a thread dedicated to the issue.
We never narrowed it down, but I am now using Twilight 1.0.4 Vsound v4 or 5,and the pops are not present atm...

I would take it in and chat with a rep before unrooting tho. No need to unroot if they have a way to fix without wiping your phone. Quite a few reps have their phone modded too.

I'm sure this is entirely possible, but when I said chat, I don't mean divuldge every last mod you have done to your phone. I simply meant unrooting might be unnecessary. Every shop is going to be different. I know the shop near me has a few rooted users. Of course though, there is no denying that unrooting your phone is your safest bet.

Try formatting the phone and sd. Odin to stock. Root then rom. I have fixed this issue twice on my phone by doing this.

Twilight 1.0.4 is the kernel people there say doesnt have the problem. Havent got around to testing. I can say that between the default bonsai kernel and genocide 1.0 kernel the crack/pops/distortion is less noticeable on genocide but its still there.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
And in general, there isn't a problem. It only affects some people.
Before placing blame and switching kernels, uninstall Voodoo Control, reboot, clear cache/dalvik-cache, and reboot again. See if the problem goes away. It probably will.
On my phone it had nothing to do with the kernel. Once the stutter appeared nothing but formatting fixed it. After that I could apply any kernel and the phone sounded great.

Just a quick update sometimes i dont even touch screen and it crackles like im sitting on the music player ( PowerAmp ) and when the screen automatically shuts off it crackles. SO WTF, what does touching a screen when audio is playing have to do anything to make it crackle it doesnt crackle any other way.
Plus sometimes when i touch screen it doesnt crackle its random
Another thing it only crackles when the screens on. as well I can play music or audio and have screen off and touch screen it doesn't crackle.

If you have tried the ultimate wipe (ODIN, Re-root) and flashed a freshly downloaded ROM and kernel and tried a different app.. I find it hard to believe its anything but hardware. Another thing you can try is using a different battery. It sounds definately electrical related.
Best of luck!

Lag with music on

Hey all, I have a very annoying issue with my One X, it seems to have much trouble playing music..
When I'm listening music via Spotify or via the regular music app it begins stuttering and skipping after a while playing...
Anoybody else with the same problem or a way to solve it?
I have the same problem ...

Same here every once in a while. If I am not mistaken then this is an issue caused when the phone enters deep sleep or something along those lines. Does it always happen to you or just every once in a while ?

Pretty annoying!
by Lag do you mean stuttering at times ? Mine does that at times and can be quite random. Tried doubletwist and ubermusic players but same thing happens in those as in the sense music application.
When it starts for me I just do a reboot and it usually corrects it.
no issues with spotify here.. are you using a custom kernel? are you rooted? bit more info

More likely to be when the phone is switching from power saving core back to the main CPU.
Mine used to lag when skipping songs, over clocking did that trick

For now I have rooted my phone with CyanogenMod 10 ROM using the TripNDroid kernel they suggested.
After I did this the lag has got less, but I haven't really tested it, but I had some lag unfortunately

Mmm, just noticed, mine is a bluetooth issue, motivated most likely by the custom kernel/rom I'm running..., the shuttering gets worse if I move away from the phone, anything beyond a couple of meters == no sound at all.
im having this problem also
i havent identified why it is but im getting alot of dalvikvm concurrent and for_alloc freed in my logs
things i've tried:
overclocking
set the minimum to 500 mhz
changed cpu govenor
another music player(winamp)
removing any games that i've installed
and then i flashed it with a custom rom, and i still get lag spikes ;/
http://pastebin.com/XQJNyVng
the lag comes when the dalvikvm shows up in log
i notice that it only happens when the screen is off
auto memory manager (play store) and set "empty apps" to 250 - its better but still Some stuttering
The auto memory manager fixed my probleem! I'm glad it fixed the laggy songs! Thanks!

Hi,
Read on one of the threads that when you transfer songs in bulk to the SGN2, they stutter, but if you transfer in batches of 5-6, the same songs play well.
yeh same problem here with stock music player :/
I have the same problem using the stock ROM and music player.
The stuttering seems random, and I have plenty of free memory (~750MB free).

yeh for me it is also random, sometimes i have listened for 2 hours music without stutters, later i get 1-3 stutters at one song. Especially i get stutters when screen is off or surfing the net. Noticed stutters at 4.1.2 firmwares, hadnt any problems with 4.1.1

Hmm I'm back to this problem. Stock Rom/Kernel. I'm rooted now.
Used the memory manager but the issues are still there. It's really weird. Did put them one at another on my SDcard trough USB.
When I zip my files put them on Dropbox and download them from my Dropbox then there is no problem..
Almost would think that the drivers are screwing the songs up in 320kbps.

Video Player Eating Up CPU

Hi. I've been using Watchdog for the past few weeks and I notice that the video player goes above threshold a lot even if I don't use it. Anyone else experiencing this?
My thoughts were:
1. Is this an app that is still running in background? Might a good app killer or task killer help?
2. Do you have 3rd party apps installed that have requested permissions to access hardware controls? Some camera apps with such permissions can potentially control your camera usage. Advice...check your app permissions and delete accordingly

Audio delays when using Bluetooth headphone

Does anyone find this problem? I just bought an Creative's Bluetooth headphone exclusively to watch movie or play video games. After experiencing nearly 2 hours, I found audio always lay 1 second. It really annoy me when I am playing video games. You can think of that you are watching bomb blowing up without explosive sounds. I tried iOS, everything is okay. You can't find any audio delays whatever you play games or watch movies. I searched this problem on the internet and found out people who bought Asus transformer pad experience the same problem. They said ICS and KNow have the same problem. Does it mean this is a Android OS's problem? Could it be fixed by custom rom? I absolutely don't like buying a Bluetooth headphone($50:banghead exclusively to pick up phone call. By the way,I am now using Android HD Rom.

I've been using BT headphones with Android devices for years, and whilst I've seen this before it has usually been on older devices and related to the video app itself losing sync, rather than Bluetooth per se.
I've had no such problems with my Note 2, using a wide variety of different bluetooth headsets, and I watch a lot of video on my device. My Note 2 is still bone stock, so I suggest trying a different ROM first of all to see if it makes any difference.
Regards,
Dave
I get a bit of Bluetooth lag when watching movies with my Creative headset. I use BSPlayer and that has an option to offset the audio of videos, so the problem goes away. Not ideal, but it works very well.

I have always experienced a little lag when calling with BT headset.
Tried SonyEricsson headsets, and for now I'm on a Jawbone Icon.
On all phones I have tested, there's this nagging delay in sounds.
When it comes to games, music and such, I have no idea
since I very rarely indulge in that kind of activities...

currently I'm using a Jabra Halo 2, a Jabra street, and a Jabra Clipper.
I also own a Nokia BH-503(might be knock-off, seems good but price was low and the place I got it from has a lot of knock-off products)
and I used to own a Samsung neckband headset(don't know the exact model) and an original Jabra Halo.
all of them had a delay with games on every device I used them with.
to my knowledge the only reason this doesn't happen with movies is because media players can put the sound out of sync by just the right amount to counter this delay.
Gonna test my Sony mw600 when I get home. I don't recall having this problem.

Did you try iOS device? My Bluetooth headphone works great with my iPad. You can't feel any lag when you are playing game or watching movie. So I think it might be bug of Android. By the way , how is Jabra halo 2? Does it sound better than other Bluetooth headphone that you've experienced. I used to like it due to its fancy looks but I end up not picking it because I found some complaints that Bluetooth connection might be stoped sometimes and recover in 1 second. I eventually picked Creative wp-250.
