S Pen Holder - Nylon tip -OK on GN 10.1? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

Hello everyone!
I just received my Samsung S Pen Holder Kit. It arrived with a stylus that looks to be made for the Galaxy note S3.
The seller on ebay stated that it is fine to use on GN 10.1. It has, or what looks to be a nylon tip and the instructions state that it is non-replaceable.
It works and responds great and the Stylus button responds as well.
My question is, will this tip cause problems on the screen in terms of scratching, gouging, etc?
Thanks.

Mine has the same tip as yours and has not caused any problems so far for me, but I just got mine too .

Thank you staffman for the reply.
Ok, i have another 7 days to return the GN back to BB if there is an issue. It writes and feels real good...
The barrel pen feels real good so far, what say you?

I say the same. It feels and writes like a real pen. Glides nice and smooth on the screen. I have used it quite a bit tonight without issue, no scratches, gouges, or marks so far. The pen is weighted just right and the right size for me. Now if only i can just get used to the button and quit taking screen shots while I write.

Ditto, ditto and ditto... too funny on the screen shots... welcome to the club on that one!
I was concerned over the differences on the tips.
I recapped 3 meetings notes tonight and cant see any degradation in terms of screen scratches.
The biggest problem is my wife see's the s-pen and picks it up and starts to use it... not good!

I was just wondering this. That pen was actually made for the Note 5.3". The reason why I'm doubting this is because Sammy did change the tip on the 10.1 pen...its a softer tip. Maybe they changed it because it does scratch? 5.3" users did report some scratching. I think im gonna stop using it and get the real 10.1 S pen holder.
Basically I dont trust it, eventhouhg it looks nice.
This is the real one you should be loking at:

Thank you for the link. I will try to find it locally if not i will go to ebay again. Wife is going to kill me!

you do know that the note 10.1 stylus (that was included with your tablet) has white nylon nibs as well, right? They came in a little baggie. The nib alone shouldn't scratch it as it's hardness is much lower. get a piece of grit stuck between the nib and screen though and all bets are off.

My 10.1 came with the white nylon nibs as well as the softer black ones. This is day two of my using of the pen kit on my 10.1 and not a signal mark. l always make sure my screen is clean before putting any s-pen to it. If I ever do get a mark I will make sure to post about it.

that's odd. Mine came with five (5) black with white center ones and two (2) completely white ones.

Just checked mine and it indeed came with the Nylon hard tips so scratching shoulnt be an issue. So question now is: Is the old pen to do 1024 levels of pressure? Or is this done on the screen itself?

you can actually put the stylus in the holder backwards so that the button doesn't line up with the button on the holder, it's worked great for me like this for a couple weeks now.

The pen does the pressure sensing... you can test out by holding the tip of the pen real.close to the screen and pressing it with your finger.. the tablet registers touchs depending on how hard you press without touching the screen

I tried that but there doesn't seem to be a way to make my S-Pen fit into the Pen holder backwards without forcing it, and I don't really want to do that to awful bad. Thanks anyway.

There are two versions of this pen....at least there are two part numbers. Anyone know the difference s. I just got the one that was llisted on the. Samsung 10.1 site. One it's ETS110EBEGXAR. The other is ET -S110EBE GSTA

Has anyone heard rather there will be new nibs for this s pen.. I have a wacom intuos 4 pad It came with several different type of nibs. I find the spring loaded ones work best for me with the input setting set to very sensitive With the spring. It really feels very much like a graphics style pencil with very soft lead..
Anyway my questions . have anyone tried the intuios Nibs or if there might be different ones available
guys please they are called NIBS.. Not tips . giggles..
thanks for a reply in advance . i will be picking up the note monday after two failed attempts on getting a good nexus 7 . was not going to get the note because i own the intuos but now i believe this could be awesome for doing on site print/ structural changes.without having to drag out my big notebook and so on...

the intuos/cintiq nibs do not fit the the stock s-pen that comes wit the device. The diameter is too large.

Need a good stylus for the vibrant

Anyone know of a decent stylus for the vibrant? I just ordered a cheapo one from ebay and it's not that great. It has a rubber tip so I can't swype or drag well. I just want one so I can use the phone without taking off my gloves during cold weather. Thanks.
What about touchscreen gloves, instead?

Doesn't the stylus have to be a capacitive touch screen stylus?

I also need to know this. I use Square to process credit cards for my business and customers have hard time using thier finger for signatures, I need a pen that will work and not scratch the screen.

Yes, it does.
I've been doing some more research on it. I can't really find the perfect stylus. I tried to use my crappy stylus today and it was a hassle to get it in and out of my pocket. I think I may abandon the whole stylus thing altogether and go with another method like sewing some conductive thread into my shooting gloves.

Whoever wanted a stylus for signatures, it looks like the Dagi stylus give the best accuracy. I would've went with that, but it is kind of expensive and hear it stops working randomly.

DayDeal.com has a HTC Branded stylus that looks exactly like the Dagi one. They also have several conductive foam tip ones as well. Just stay away from rubbery style tips. They are a little smaller and a little more precise for tapping, but they stick to the screen so Swype does not work well and neither would signatures.
BTW - Does the square hardware work with the T959 Vibrant?

Wow, that HTC one is just as expensive as the Dagi. I would've gotten one, but read some reviews about it not working after a while.
The best stylus I've used is, by far, the Griffin. I got mine from Amazon for just under $15. I bought it for sketching on my iPad but use it on my Vibrant as well.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041D0K1Q/ref=oss_product
The tip is soft rubber (as opposed to conductive foam like the Pogo) that slides across the screen nicely. The eBay kinds have rubber that skids and leaves marks - the tip on this one does not. I've used it on bare screens, crystal clear screen protectors, and matte anti-fingerprint screen protectors with no issues whatsoever.
Sensitivity and accuracy are better than the Pogo and it works at all angles, unlike those crap eBay kind.
From what I understand, Targus and Boxwave make versions that are pretty much identical. I think they all run about the same price, so I guess go with whatever brand you like best.
Targus - Stylus for Apple® iPad™
Works just as good and can pick up at local best buy. I sell these with cell phones all day long.

i just got the griffin stylus. its pretty nice. slick on the screen. doesnt grip at all. needs little to no pressure on the screen. only problem is finding the sweet spot for the 4 bottom buttons. it only works like half the time with more pressure.

Looking for a thin Stylus

Bought this one off ebay but the thing is way too thick and just doesnt perform well with drawing apps like draw something. Can anyone suggest a thinner one trying to find one along the size of the galaxy note

I didn't play with it long enough to care to find out. It was that "odd" to handle.
Sadly that doesn't make it a "thin" stylus by any means.
I saw one being advertised on barnes and noble's site for the nook that "looked" thin but I haven't checked it out to see whether it was just the photo that made it look that way.
So I found a stylus that has a smaller surface area. Its the same thickness as a regular pen.

If you want to draw on your E4GT you should really give the Jot Mini a try.
http://www.amazon.com/Adonit-Stylus...LTAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338263247&sr=8-1
It is very accurate, much more so than ANY bubble-tip stylus and it registers very well on the E4GT's screen. I use one myself. It is also nice and small which makes it easy to carry around with your phone.

[Q] Thoughts on the Samsung S III C Pen

Hey guys,
In excitement to receive the new S III on Verizon, I have set to search for cases, screen covers, etc. However, I happened to come across the Samsung S III C Pen in another post and was wondering what your thought were on it. Has anyone try it yet?
I'm an Animation Student in Digital Arts, and would like to use the C Pen for quick sketching on the S III.
The Samsung's link is here:

Forgive me in advance if this topic was meant to be posted in the Q&A section instead of here,

While I can't speak to the C Pen itself, my understanding is that it is just a capacitive stylus, unlike the S Pen for the note. That being the case, you will probably end up with a similar experience to other capacitive screen styli. Their quality can vary greatly but they are all just trying to replace your finger.

I don't think this is true. I saw a video (can't remember where now) that showed this C Pen in use and although it wasn't like the Note's S Pen, it wasn't like a normal stylus either. It is supposed to only work on the GS3 from what I understand and the person in the video used it on an iPhone to prove it. I ordered one yesterday. I will update this post once I get it and let you all know what I think of it.
I also have the Galaxy Note phone so I will be able to compare the 2.
i have watched one video, the only thing interested me...was that the stylus works only on S3, but no respond on iPhone.
Just wonder if it was true or not. and whats the point for that....:good::good:
I bought one last week and ended up sending it back. It looks and feels fantastic, but it didn't work that great with my screen protector installed (Zagg InvisibleShield) The surface was too "tacky" for any real precise usage. I mainly bought it for Draw Something and stuff like that. Now if you don't have a screen protector it should work perfect. Also I was under the impression that you could use it on tablets as well, going off the Amazon description that says: "Replacement for using fingers on your tablet or smartphone touchscreen" Sadly that isn't the case. I tried it on my Acer Iconia a500 tablet and my wife's Galaxy Nexus and it didn't do a thing. That's mainly my fault though for not doing research on it before hand and just going off of the Amazon description. So all that being said, if you don't have a screen protector installed or have something other than a Zagg InvisibleSHIELD, you shouldn't have an issue with it.

If it is the same as the Zagg where the screen protector is tacky, then it will probably have the same results. It would probably work better if there isn't a screen protector on there or a crystal clear one. I have a regular capacitive stylus and using it on my Transformer, you can feel a little resistance with a "tacky" protector.

The SGSIII uses a capacitive stylus. I tried my GNote stylus on the SGSIII and it does not work. The GNote can take a WACOM (Stock) stylus and a capacitive stylus and work I believe.
I do like using S Memo from my GNote to jot notes so I ordered the OEM Stylus for my SGSIII as well.

And for the OP. Your first mistake was putting a Zagg shield on your phone. I used to use them on all my phones pretty much when they were the only option but Zagg shields suck. They're tacky like you said and they discolor, turn an ugly brownish color and the corners eventually peel (quicker than most other screen protectors I've used). There are plenty of better options out there now. I, personally, choose to keep my phones naked now. :cyclops:

any update? how do you like it?
I got the C pen today. If you are thinking it will be close in operation to a WACOM pen or the Galaxy Note, it is not. Not even close.
The C pen is well made but the rubber tip skips along and is not smooth. I have not quite figured out the best angle for writing (I am left handed). The C pen does work for flipping screens and apps etc.
I will keep it and play with it some more, but it is really more of show off feature that is not nearly as useful as it is on the GNote. I wanted to try it because I do actually take and keep notes on my GNote. I will update if I discover anything new.
The S pen is absolutely not worth it. It doesn't work on any other devices besides the SGSIII
And it really doesn't work any better that other styli on the SGSIII. The only thing it has going for it is that it looks beautiful.

In my haste to order a stylus, I ordered one from Amazon and thought I chose the note 10.1. Instead I grabbed one for the regular note. Worst part is... I ripped the box trying to get it out. Now I have a $38 stylus that doesn't work. Why can't I use an Intuos one... those look nice and comfortable.
I ordered one from the Wacom site since it doesn't seem to be available elsewhere in the USA. I should get it early next week and I'll post some impressions. I assume it should should behave just like a s-pen but have a more comfortable feel since it is more pen like.

Sweet deal on the white ones.
Thanks
I purchased the white Bamboo Feel pen/stylus from Wacom and received it Friday, after using it over the weekend I can say that I like this pen much more than any of the others I have tried. It feels very balanced in the hand, and the tip/nib had a very nice feel to it much like writing on paper, even with a screen protector on my Note 10.1.
I have tried many others, the stylus that came with the Note, an old pen enabled stylus, the pen holder by Samsung and even though these stylus worked fine, this Bamboo Feel, came out the winner. It tracks perfectly, feels great in my hand, and most of all, feels most like using a regular fine quality pen on paper.
I like it so much that I am going to spend the extra money and order the more expensive carbon fiber one, just for the added weight as I like using a heavy pen when writing on paper. The weight on the white one is fine, it is heavier than any other stylus I have tried ( see above) but I think I will like the carbon fiber even more as it is twice as heavy according to the specs.
This stylus does not have the eraser on the end, if this is something you prefer.

Awesome! Does it come with replacement tips? I know the OEM Note 10.1 stylus has a hard plastic and a 'rubber' tip.. not sure what the bamboo one has..
I just received the carbon fiber model. I really like it. I tried the S-Pen Holder but didn't like the feel of the plastic tip and unfortunately that can't be swapped out like on the s-pen. The bamboo stylus FEEL comes with the rubber tip installed and has replacement tips of rubber and plastic. The weight of the pen is nice and heavy - like a fine pen. This should make note taking much better (and I already thought it was good). The obvious downside is the high price. I would have gone with the black version, assuming it was priced the same as white, but it isn't available yet.
Question: is it possible to use this pen with a note 2 and note 10.1 simultaneously?

I can't see why not. There isn't any device programming done to the stylus, so it sold be able to be used with multiple devices no problem.

This makes sense, but for some reason I have found I cannot use the note 10.1 stylus on the note 2, or vice versa

Tab 2 screen protector on a Note 10.1

Would it fit? I saw a cheap Galaxy Tab 2 screen protector but I don't know if it would fit. I think it would.
I searched a few tab 2 image and it almost exactly as my Note 10.1
Had someone try this?
Nope. I'd bought one when I first got my Note and overlaid it first to see; had to return it.
Honestly, we've got Gorilla Glass and I would worry about the SP affecting the SPen; I've been nude screen for nearly 6 mos and it's still flawless.

No, yeah, I trust in Gorilla Glass but I love matte feeling of the antiglare SP.
I'm using this and it works well. The anti-glare doesn't fuzz the image too much, and it feels like writing on paper if you switch the spen tip to the all white one.

The problem is that I live in Venezuela, and here is not easy to find that SP, I found the Tab 2 screenprotect, that's why I expected to fit.
I'd have to buy it on Amazon and wait for it to be delivered.
P.S. I didnt know that the S-Pen tip would make I difference, I don't even know how to replace it... I'm so gonna try it.

Do you know what's the difference between both tips? The white one and the black one

I don't know what the differences are, but I like the white one better. I switched to it within a day or so, and haven't looked back. It might feel similar with the default tip, but I haven't tried it.
This is so old I don't even know if this will be any use to you.
I have both of these tablets, and they have the same screen, almost as if the same exact faceplate was used. You can use either type of screen protector On either device.

Actually, it helped. I had forgotten my doubt and never solved it. Thanks! I would buy a Tab because I can't find one for my Note
