Read this thread found in the Original Dev section. It allows you to have two ROMs on the phone, booting one at a time. It originally was made to use CM9 and another ROM of your choice, but with slight changes you can run any two ROMs of your choice...
I haven't used it yet, but many other members have and they say it works well. Others will come in and pitch in their thoughts.

I know there is a forum about this but its been locked, I love it its 10 times quicker then what I was forced into. But I was wondering if anyone knew on how to get mms working. Also I haven't been able to get Wi-Fi working but the video works. I'm not complaining, just wondering.

Also if anyone would lend some light on CM9 will be out that'd be awesome. Thanks!

The one that I was reading was the official dev one and it had been locked. I'm not forum stupid.

With the impending release of the MTD version of CM7 utilizing YAFFS2 format, CM9 will be a real possibility for the Epic, although probably a ways out. CM7 is coming along nicely, but still not officially supported, so I assume it will be a while. QBKing77 posted a video in General about the MTD/YAFFS2 file system and the benefits....More to come...
@Adam thanks, I wasn't trying to be rude just cause I'm new doesn't mean I'm a noob... ya know? I must have searched the wrong things. Thank you

If you don't mind me asking, what is MTD? I should got into these mods a long time ago... might have saved my phone a few drops

To follow up on your original questions that adam didn't quite touch on...
Those items are notated in the CM7 thread in our dev forum as having known issues. You, as an well informed/read user of CM7, should go into flashing this rom knowing those listed features will not work 100%--if at all.
Ahh good to know, it works great. Do you possibly know wheb BETA will be relased?

Ive kept track of the skyrocket side. The response has been thoroughly negative. He posted the first vid and people in the skyrocket forum responded with "fake" and "I already got that far" or " whats the point"
A week or two later he got flamed by a lot of the newer devs in the skyrocket dev forum about not releasing source code even though it was even in alpha. In this thread he was also accused of "kanging".How does one kang ICS for this device?
Not very welcoming from the start. It was also, the rules pretty much allow offsite linking if registration is not required which is currently the case but the rules where extended and not applied site wide.

Faux Kernel

I saw mention that Faux created a kernel for ICS on our device. I dug around and found this: http://faux.androidro.ms/ (search for herc).
I did some searching and didn't see any dedicated threads regarding this development.
Anyone got any information or insight about this? What ROMs is it compatible with? Any performance or data on it?
Thanks!

Be mindful this thread was originally made for fauxes GB kernel, most of the comments pertain to that. Go to the last 10 pages or so and you will find posts there about his ICS kernel.

Nowadays the rule of thumb is to never use ROM manager to install cwm unless its specifically stated to do so by devs for that particular model. I've seen it cause too many bricks. It may work but it may also brick u. U are better off using the recovery provided here.

I am currently running TWRP to see if the IMEI goes missing using it. If so we can rule CWM out of possibilities.
Gotta say though, I am liking it more than CWM. Give TWRP a try.

Well, if you've checked the IMEI thread and read my posts I've done quite a lot today using TWRP. Even restored back to stock unrooted via Odin straight from JB AOKP. I'm not sure if it's how CWM does something with the partitions or what. I used TWRP because there weren't any reports, so I wanted to test and see.

Lol, the forum around here is pretty calm compared to other forums , it'll be awesome if we could get more devs to pump up more note 8 users on here, more devs/more roms/ more awesomeness, i know for fact that devs and their collaboration to make the impossible like ykkfive 4.3 port and ofc sbrissen/ ryukiri /ketut.kumajaya for their gr8 work on ports and cm code could get this forum up and running like never before.
