[Q] Softkeys in themes? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

How can I change the softkeys in a CM10 theme?
I'm using a really good Touchwiz theme, and I hate the softkeys. Is there a way to change them and the glow?

I have a tutorial in my theme thread, link in my Sig.

[Q] CM7 Theme Engine

Hey guys. I have been on CM7 for a while now but have never used or even looked at the Theme Engine before. I was hoping that you guys could answer a few basic questions about it:
1. Are these THEMES also launchers as well? Currently I am using CM7 with GoLauncher. If I install a Theme will it replace Go Launcher as the default launcher or will it theme Go Launcher?
2. Is there a massive thread that has a list of all the CM7 Themes? I have only been able to find individual theme threads (MattedBlues, etc.)
3. I like custom icons but I hate when I have apps that aren't supported...they stick out like a sore thumb on the desktop. Is that the issue with the THEME ENGINE themes or do they alter the default icons on their own?
Thanks in advance!
1)the themes dont overwrite your launcher, use what you prefer.
2)I believe there is a thread somewhere with all themes try google, there is also alot of them on the market.
3)some themes do have custom icons, depends on what the theme creator included.
Here's a list of some themes.you want HDPI for the evo http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046108

Thanks a lot for your input guys! I tried a few out. The only thing I'm not liking is when there are custom icons. More than likely they don't have customized icons for ALL the apps you want to display on your desktop. Then you either have to have ugly mismatching icons or remove the unsupported icons from your desktop altogether.
Can any of you guys advise on a THEME that themes all your existing icons?

Thank you Fergie....that is the exact idea I was looking for. Do you know if there is a black theme that has a similar effect (making all of your icons have a dark/black tint? I already tried DarkGinger. but it only has customized icons...and not very many of them.

Once I get to my computer I will write a quick tutorial no problem
Here is my latest navbar/battery icon switchup LOL since I am in the Marine Corps I of course want those images in my themes
Ok now what I do is open up (right click and chose open archive) my systemui with 7 zip and change out the images in the drawable-xhdpi (being sure of course to make sure they match titles and relative size). Then I go to drawable-sw600dp-xhdpi and swap out those images and back out of systemui. Then package them up in a zip and flash in CWM because sometimes the changes do not take hold when you just use root explorer and swap out the old with the new systemui. Let me know if you need anything else, I hope this helped.

Nice job! This coupled with an ICS icon pak I had for my GNex looks pretty sweet indeed. Great job and it's good to see support so quick for a new tablet. Great quality also.
Does anyone know how to mod the softkeys to make 4, or even 5, instead of 3? It would be nice to have at least a Search key on the bottom instead of the top.

Give V4 a try, if it still does it I will download that rom and see whats going on. I built this theme based off of Winners CyanMod 10 so if there are changes to the systemui or framework-res there may be some unexpected problems, but if there is enough demand I can def theme that rom too

I'm thinking about installing this, but I was just wondering what is the procedure to reverting back to the stock them once this is installed?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
If you decide to install this theme and it doesnt work or boot loops then the only way back is to flash a nandroid back-up. So please backup your rom before you flash this theme and if it doesnt work for you or you dont like it (cant see that LOL) you can go back to what you had before. Its not like a zip theme that creates a undue zip. Hope that helps!

How to install custom nav keys over theme nav keys?

I'm running maguro nightly euroskank cm10 mod and i've installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669169 zenyth keys, but when I use theme chooser and install cobalt theme, they change. Anyone know a way to keep the zenyth keys?
You'd have to replace the soft keys in the theme chooser apk with the zenith keys

I have a tutorial in my theme chooser thread. Look for the "How-To's" this way you can just ziptheme it instead of all the extra work.

Or use JB Sorcery ROM and you can use the theme chooser and choose whatever soft keys you want. They have a good list to choose from that you install within the ROM.

White System UI/Notifications

Hey guys,
Back when I still had a Motorola Triumph, I was able to flash a mod that made the notification, apps menu and other menus white (or light or whatever) instead of the usual black coloration. Is there anything like this for the nexus 4 yet? If so could it be flashed as a mod or would I have to install a custom ROM first? If there isn't I'd like to request one... Once I find the screenshots of my old phone (I know they're around somewhere) I'll upload them for reference.
AW: White System UI/Notifications
Install miui, you will probably like it. It has a light theme and runs ultra fluid
Problem :miui isn't available yet.
What you could do is install PA/AOKP/CM and install a light theme

Using a ROM with Theme Chooser, install chromium theme. It makes the many of the menus white.
I'm using cm 10.1 and have also been trying to find a white UI theme. Not really a fan of the miui style. I like the vanilla android ui but would like to try it with a white holo look instead of the all black.

Not a bad theme. Small issues here and there, but otherwise very good. May be perfect for you.
I'm going to give it a try. Not a fan of the notification icons, desktop icons, or soft key themes but I suppose those can modded.
