Screen protector link needed - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Looking for a link that is confirmed to be a screen protector with an exact fit, meaning the top is cut for the shape of the little speaker and not just trimmed to leave a lot of unprotected area. I've seen a few but am worried about ordering something on Amazon and having it not be quite right. Any help is appreciated.

These are what I ALWAYS put on mine, GREAT company to work with too, if there are any problems.

truth be told i have only used the screen protectors sold by tmobile. my sis has bought them for me, and i have been very happy with them. my only complaint is that sometimes if i put the phone with my keys it will puncture the protector. this screen protectors you put states it has capabilities to prevent punctures. price isnt bad either

How is the application? It comes out looking good?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

When you first apply it it will look "cloudy" and a rainbow effect for a couple days (they are "wet apply"), what i Have done is let it dry for a full day, then take a hair dryer to it, it seems to clear up faster that way. When you have it on there, you can't even see it (unless there is something on the screen when you put it on)
They are "Self healing" meaning that they are soft, say if you dig your nail into it. but it goes away.
As for does it cover scratches, I am not sure because I haven't had scratches on my screens when I put them on
Also if you search google for "skinomi coupon codes" you can get a good discount sometimes.

TPU diztronic case review

Hello guys,
I ve been in the market for cases for my new galaxy nexus and got my hands on a couple diztronic ones and I posted the reviews on the correct forum however I couldn't leave my lovely s2 without one so I got one as well and reviewed it specially because I've seen people talking about it due its misalignment with some of the necessary hardware part. I made this video so you guys can check it and make your own decision ..
Pd.- I am in no way associated with Diztronic or any of its affiliates .Im just a phone junkie that started reviewing cases so people get a look before spending their money. Mods if I am breaking any rules please let me know
Enjoy and hope this helps

Had mine shipped from Amazon with free Prime, but it somehow managed to take 5 days. The case itself is great, I see the misalignment issue with the mic hole, but I haven't really had any problems with that so far. It definitely fits better than the primitive T989 case on eBay that was extremely popular.
good review dude. Does it not bother you that you have particles stuck under your screen protector? Man that would eat away at me until I fixed it.
thank you for the kind words guys
im going to be honest on the shipping..I got mine in like three days..Im in the US so that might be why it was faster.
it indeed feels sleek as well..not adding volume nor size is a plus for me.
Yes , i had that case from ebay...which is now resting inside my drawer lol
i HATE the particles..it doenst matter if im in a surgeon table or with everything closed ...I always manage to get particles in..and not on the side but in the middle of the screen haha! but gladly i have a lot of them so right after the video I replaced it with another one
glad im able to help you guys...the more cases I get the more reviews I will be doing

have you tried the hot shower method? it really does work wonders, but it sure is uncomfortable in there.
Actually I haven't. Good idea. Will try that!
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Ditto. Applying screen protectors must be the most annoying thing in the world...
the larger the screen protector, and the smaller the cutouts that you have to align, that worse it gets. Getting this crappy matte screen protector on my GS2 was a pain, now I don't even want it because it ruins the beauty of the screen.
I tried the hot shower method for the first time on my GS2 and it definitely made life easier as far as keeping dust suppressed goes, but any dust that gets stuck on the sticky side of the screen protector is still going to cause trouble.
Running it for ~10 minutes got the bathroom nice and steamy when I did it, don't humidify it to the point where it gets uncomfortable, but you do have to keep it running during the process =\
that was probably incoherent as hell and more of a rant than anything, but I've never been good at sorting my thoughts

I understand your frustration no worries there. So from what I have gathered from reading a lot of blogs and stuff:
1) Soak the screen protector (if it's a silicone adhesive that is water-resistant) in half water half isopropanol to clean the sticky side of the sp.
2) Apply screen protector in a steamy room.
So much work.. Especially since a lot of people have no trouble at all applying screen protectors regularly. Maybe I'm just fail
If you're careful, you don't have to soak the screen protector in anything, I didn't and it went on perfectly, that is...until my cheap eBay case started pushing the top right corner up. Just run a hot shower, and do EVERYTHING in there, even opening the screen protector. I live in a REALLY dusty apartment (no idea why) and I had very little trouble except for lining up the holes.
i have the same case, same issues at the bottom with the mic but it doesnt effect my calls. even with the minor imperfections, i would still recommend the case to others.
Never heard of the hot shower method before
I've applied many screen protectors ranging from Nintendo DSi to iPad2/Samsung Galaxy Tab and anything in between over the years, and never had any problems with bubbles or particles. The key is to have a brief bursts of canned air right before applying the screen protector and having a piece of Scotch tape in one hand in case any dust particles get in between. If that happens, I lift the screen protector little bit, touch the dust with the Scotch tape briefly, and continue the process. Scotch tape doesn't leave any residues behind (either on the screen or the screen protector depending on where the dust particle is) and it is readily available. Oh, and I always use powder-free latex exam gloves

I finally received the case in the mail. Damn international shipping.
The case looks sleek. It fits perfectly. Haven't noticed any problems with the sound quality. I am satisfied. Will probably last very long until I decide to upgrade to like a seidio/otterbox/incipio ccase.

Scratched Already!

UUUUGH
I woke up this morning in a rush, threw my phone in my pocket. Ran out the door to class.
Realized after class when a friend wanted to look at my phone they were with my keys! There are all these little microscratches and a few bigger ones DEAD CENTER.
It isn't too noticeable until light his it from a certain direction.
But I cannot freakin believe that I let that happen. I usually am completely OCD about these things, and I normally put screen protectors and cases on my phone the MINUTE I open the damn thing.
Hell - I do it for all my devices. My laptop, Vita, my gaming consoles, I have protective stuff for everything!
The Note 2 didn't have a Zagg yet, and they list it on their page but it isn't featured or "imaged". The last time I did that with Zagg, the damn thing came to be unpunctured - aka I had to manually cut the material out with a knife (hard as hell to do, near impossible without stretching!)
So I waited one day too long it seems. Screw me right?
I'm so annoyed and bothered now. Brand new phone, brand new scratches. First phone screen scratch issue I've had in over 4 years.
Does anyone know any real solutions (aka not toothpaste -.-) that I could try to buffer them out?

Have you returned phones to ATT before? Im not familiar with the process and how easy it may or may not be.
If you get a replacement, they do sell the Zagg Shields for the Note II at Best Buy. When I first bought my Note 2, I immediately drove to Best Buy and picked up the HD version of the Zagg Shield for it! It definitely looks good on the phone. They had the smudge free version of the shield but I'm not sure if it lowers the clarity...

If you're within your 14 day return window, they will just charge you $35 restock fee and give you a new one. Or .. just suck it up.. slap on a screen protector now and you won't even notice the scratches.

Happened to me the 2nd day I had my Note.
I put it in my backpack for less than 15 minutes in the afternoon. THAT NIGHT I got my new screen protectors in the mail and as I was going to apply the screen I noticed the scratches all over the screen.
The glass is NOT scratch proof by any means just because it is gorilla glass. Sure typical metal wont scratch the screen but just about anything else will.
I took it back to ATT and they switched it for a new one, no questions asked for the restocking price of 35 bucks.
I slapped a screen protector on my new Note the minute I opened the box.

Have had phone for a month now and just noticed a 1cm scratch thats barely visible with the eye but can be felt with my fingernail. No idea what caused is ive been babying this. Thats what I get for believing in gorilla glass. Ordered JLG today to prevent future occurences
If it makes you feel any better I cracked the glass completely... I'm also very careful with my phones. It took a 3 foot fall onto pavement (hands not used the size yet) and the glass is completely shattered... it wasn't even 24 hours old. Now I am waiting fr the repair place to get the full lcd+touch+glass screen back in stock - will cost me over $300 to have it fixed.
Sooo - little scratches on your screen...
I'm not sure what kind of glass Sammie is using on the Note 2 but it seems pretty fragile. My original galaxy and moto Atrix handled much worse falls without any damage whatsoever.

Supposed to be gorilla glass 2
The GN2 Gglass debate has already taken place.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958329
It scratches on every device its been used on so screen protector up or Flip cover to avoid screen damage.
hehe I got lucky on my Epic Touch 4G no scratch ,ding or dents.
GN2 screen is larger more prone to damage so I'm using flip cover protection on it.
I recommend the Tridea case - http://www.amazon.com/Black-Samsung-Premium-T-Mobile-Unlocked/dp/B009SNTHPO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Yeah I'm sure it's not the phone but just having more screen to scratch/crack etc. I always go caseless and without screen protector but I am buying a coat off armour for this sucker once it's repaired

You might try one of these. I have never used them but they claim to fill in 95% of the scratches on your screen and they do have one for the note 2.
http://xoskins.com/

remove hairline scratches

This may seem like a dumb question and i have seen mixed results and various methods. I just bought a used GNex and didn't look at the screen close enough (deal was at night). The scratches are very thin and can only be seen in direct light, you have to look for the scratch most of the scratches expect one. Not noticeable with the screen on, they are very very thin.
Since its very minor it not to bad, but wondering if there is a way to "fill" it in with something. I have heard of Displex, Brasso, toothpaste, Banana and Banana Skin etc all claim to work on touchscreens. But this is an AMOLED screen and is made of glass as we all know.
I know toothpaste can be used on cars, headlights and CD's and actually have used it in the past. But never on a glass touchscreen.
Do you think any method would work?
I'm inclined to try toothpaste, but i heard the screen has a protective coding that will be removed from the screen if toothpaste is used.
The other idea I had which seems dumb is to use Zagg's solution and see many it will fill it in?
PS Yes I know the screen protect will work, but don't want to hide the scratches but rather fix them.
just live with them, end of story
There is no way to "fix" a scratch. It's an actual piece of glass missing. All that could be done would be to wear the entire screen down to that level, which is what the so called repair kits do. For obvious reasons you don't want to wear down the GNex screen.
Yea,there's nothing to do to fix it.you can hide it,but not fix it. You can on non touch screen gadgets, but not on SAMOLED.toothpaste wouldnt work, banana would just make your screen mute, and you for shure cannot brush it out with sandpaper then polish it. Live with it,believe me,99% of us in the Gnex forum have them,i wanted to cry when i noticed it,but its just not worthy. You will forget about it in a few days.
Mine has a tiny one on the lower left hand side of the screen, and it rarely bugs me anymore. You can only see it from certain angles. And trust me, I'm a freak about this stuff.
I have some of these. Because you actually have to look for them to see them I don't mind at all. If I could see them with the screen on then I'd be *****ing.
I'm just mad i didn't check the phone enough when I bought it, trusted the guy when he said it has no scratches. Well I'm not going to be using it. Its for my momma, paid $200 CAD which was alright.
The scratches are noticeable with the screen off in regular light, but not with the screen on.
If you want to use a screen protector, the wet apply ones fill in the scratch and make it harder to see.

[Q] Gunk in between cracks

Ok first of all....I didn't think it through and therefore was being stupid on that day but anyways, down to the question. Ok, so I pulled off my screen protector, I noticed I had a few micro scratches (OCD is crazy and I was the few that could acutally notice it). I decided to wax the scratches off. Sadly, it didn't work and the worst part is that I got it into the cracks of my phones. Such as the edges of the bezel, around the earpiece, and home button. Now I see the a white line (wax) from where it and stayed there. I have attempted to remove it with cleaning alchohol and tooth brushes but to no avail. Does anyone know of a way to get this stuff out?
Thanks, yo
Screen scratches can't never leave unless you actually replace the screen lol. Maybe 10 years they will be a magic potion to heal the cracks but nothing yet, maybe that should be my invention!!

I have the same dirt looking things between the glass and plastic but I couldn't get it off.. what really helps to keep it clean is a good case that covers the cracks.

I'm not talking about scratches but about the gunk that gets in between the cracks and crevices of the screen such as the space around the home button and bezel/screen edge.
I got some of it out with Goo Gone
I was in my school's library (office aid) and I saw some of that and decided to give it a go. It worked pretty good. However, I'll see how well it works after it dries and stays for a day. Crossing fingers right now.

Ah my bad. Well I am, I mean there is nothing really that you can do to the screen to the the scratches off (unless you want to replace the screen or sand it out, which is a waste for just a few scratches). Luckily the Goo Gone is working. But there are a few bits of leftover white wax that is left on the edge of the screen and around the earpiece. Still annoys the heck out of me (hard core OCD with it) so I'll continue working on it but glad it works. Well, at least it is better then it was.

S3 screen not smooth and fingerprints.

I have a white s3 and the screen just insnt the same anymore it gets dirty really quick fingerprints, smudge marks and my sisters blue one is smooth and my finger just glides across it. I've had my s3 longer but I don't think it should matter. I've read threads about some coating wearing off and I'm not sure what it is. Easy to say on your end but when you run your own shop and all your business is phone calls I can't wash my hands for five minute every half hour I'd get nothing done not to mention your comment does not help at all and is border line trolling

Lol that guy, I understand use a screen protecter, wash your hands, don't put your keys in your pocket all that stuff I was just letting him know how to fix once you've already trashed your screen not how to prevent it.

Could it be that the oleophobic coating wore off? I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711761 and people were saying that their screen wasnt smooth.
I also found this oleophobic coating kit. Could this potentially fix it? http://www.amazon.com/API-Fingerpri...1360793543&sr=1-1&keywords=oleophobic+coating
or should I just buy a screen protector and would that fix it? Recommendations?
Thanks?
I doubt your carrier would fix this problem of yours because it's not a mistake of theirs, they'd only fix the phone or screen if it was a manufacturer problem, which it clearly isn't.. if I were you, I'd do an insurance claim on your phone, pay $100 or whatever you're supposed to pay, get yourself a new s3 and sell the one you have now for as much as you can get out of it..

Ummm....I think that's insurance fraud. When you do an insurance claim you have to return the one that's broken if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise if you claim is as "lost" or "stolen", or even anything else, they deactivate the imei so it can't be used. I'd be pissed if I bought a phone that was blocked from a person like that. Be careful about the advice you give. Its a similar concept if you do a warranty exchange through Tmobile. They expect their device back otherwise you get charged the restocking fee.

Generally all touchscreen phones will have fingerprints after awhile. Mine didn't till after a couple weeks ago did then they started showing up.
It is what it is. Either wash your hands all the time or get a good screen protector. Really is that simple.

My wife's white s3 has the same issues, but not my blue one. I am going to change the outer glass/screen on the phone, and then add a screen protector. Hopefully it is not the digitizer. The issue is that the area at the bottom left side of the screen has to be pressed hard for a response, sometimes it goes into things when swipe as if a had taped on those only.

Would samsung or tmobile send a replacement if I tell them about this issue? Or what could I do and what could have caused this thanks
Thanks

go to Orilley's or any other car care sales place and get a small spray bottle of a detail wax.
it is not expensive, and I use the Mothers brand because of the price and results. (I also use it on my car)
spray a little on a microfiber towel, or if you don't have any, use a paper towel. Wipe the product all around on the glass area and keep wiping till the product starts to dry up. You do NOT have to press hard. After that, just wipe up the glass and you'll see it's just as good as new.
I also do the camera lens and the pictures come out MUCH, MUCH sharper!
Good Luck!

yes! but don't Flood the juice.... dampen a small spot using the rag jcovering your pointer finger and rub lightly all around the glass and keep rubbing till the liquid starts to dry, but not totally dry, and wipe off the residue. be careful not to get anything in the buttons and speaker ports. You might even use painters tape to mask out the speaker and home keys till you get a feel of the procedure down. You won't have to do it too often, just when you feel the glass is getting too "sticky""
good luck!

Thanks! I will try this when my screen gets too sticky. Right now it is alright, though it's not as smooth as day one.
