How to Root HTC Wildfire S 2.3.5 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi
I have read all your post and replies. This is not any other post, m posting this after going for hours through your forum.
I have tried the new HTC Any root method, doesnt work. I rooted htc incredible s it rooted it, but with wildfire s it give error of out of memory. i made a space of 93mb in system memory, but still didnt work.
I have tried to update bootloader from HTC dev site, but my software version is 2.26.401.3, and no ROMs are yet available for this.
I have specifically searched wildfire s forum and have tried all the rooting methods but failed.
I have also tried the specific blog for htc wild fire s method but failed.
Kindly advise one method for which i can root htc wildfire s with above specifications.
Or can it be rooted at all?
I shall be very thankful.

Hi Ali well I rooted my wfs yesterday. Here's what I did.
1. Get ur bootloader unlocked from htcdev (just register and start following the steps, *Skip the RUU step*)
2. Restart ur wfs in hboot (by pressing power button and volume down)
3. Select fastboot and enter the cmd instructions.
4. Copy and paste the string and send it to htcdev for ur unlock key.
5. Follow the remaining steps to unlock the bootloader.
6. If. Your device is S-Off then go ahead with the root if it's S-ON then use the universal exploit and make sure that u have the original SD card inserted when using the universal exploit.
Hope this helps

Don't uninstall the above:
1 - it didnt work for me (Wildfire S, euro version)
2 - it installs a lot of junk software (toolbars, IM icon packs etc) that took me half an hour to uninstall.

pg76img not updating
While hboot processing PG76IMG parsing and getting an error message "main version old" what should I do now,I tried checking software updates but it said no updates available for ur phone, pls help me out of this

[Q] Debrand a T-Mobile Wildfire?

DO I just use a goldcard and download this:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe
I'm slightly concerned that it says "HTC Buzz" rather than "HTC Wildfire". Is this normal? am I changing he phone in any way that may prevent it getting updates in the future?
I just need reassurance that HTC Buzz is the same phone as the Wildfire. Was it originally called the Buzz or something, before the marketing men got involved and rebranded it.
The reason I want to debrand is the Froyo update will arrive long before the T-Mobile one arives.
Thanks.
HTC-Buzz and HTC Wildfire are the same. Buzz is the Working-Title and Wildfire the one for sale.
Its typical for HTC-Devices.

What he said. I'm on T-Mobile too and debranded my phone in the same way, although I must say the phone doesn't boot any faster!
i shouldent update the rom to 2.2 when it comes.
wait for the rooted ver, HTC will proberly install a later harder hboot to crack on 2.2 roms.
Can I debrand my H3G UK Wildfire? Do I just have to prepare a goldcard (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683), place it into the phone and then I will be able to downgrade a rom? Thanks in advance for reply.
Hello, it's me again. I've just tried to debrand my phone (H3G UK). I've made a gold card and downloaded that rom: RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe. I run the exe, everything was ok, and suddenly I got an error. It was error 140, something about bootloader version.
I checked bootloader version - HBOOT-0.80.0003
Is there any way to debrand my phone?
Guys, please help me.
Its the Same 140 at 1&1 wildfire. I dont can downgrade. Can any One help Me?

It doesn't work. I just got error 140. Can I downgrade or change the bootloader version?
The Problem is the Bootloader Ver.1.19 is newer than RU-Version 1.14, so can NOT downgrade this phone!! You can still wait for Froyo 2.2!

[Q] Problem with downgrading

Hello... well the problem I am forcing with is overhelming me there it goes. I have got the HTC Desire Z unlocked bootloader with HtcDev. I flashed with SenseMOD FlashONE on to it but i forgot to make the back up. The problem is that I wanted to S-Off it but I am stuck with SenseMOD FlashONE and I cannot install any other rom. I tryed everything the recovery yes installs other roms but when I turn them on I get a boot loop... is there any way I could flash stock firmware Thank you for nay help.... Ps: sorry for mystakes English is not my first language....
Htc bootloader unlock is no good, follow nipqer's guide to change this and get s-off. This will be the only way for you. If you have trouble following his guide log onto freenode for real time help

When I already had rooted and s-off I was foolish enough to flash a stock ruu just to try out HTCDEV unlock. But in the end I just relocked it and followed the regular downgrade guide to get back to using eng-hboot. Nipqer is the one person who'll help you on this topic.

The problem with this version of HOX is that I can not unlock by htcdev. With respect to the root need some way to achieve this without unlocking the bootloader obvious. Greetings and from already thank you for your time.

unlocking bootloader by htcdev is an htc official thing, so it's available for every hboot/ruu>>> you can upgrade it problemless! without s-off you can't downgrade... it might be problem for s-off because if someone release s-off for an old hboot, and not for new one, you'll probabilly stuck without s-off.

[Q] Wildchild Issues, please help a new user

Dear everyone,
My phone is a device originally from Bell Canada. The specs are
Marvel PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-0.90.0000
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.46.36.14M
Apr 8 2011, 17:45:10
Android v. 2.3.3
Software number: 1.36.666.5
Model: PG7611000
I was tempted to try the legendary Wildchild but couldn't reboot it to recovery mode with a properly prepared sd card.
Then I thought perhaps I still needed to unlock the bootloader. I went to the htcdev site and followed the steps.
I chose the right version RUU for the Bell 1.36.666.5 but an error notice said model ID was wrong.
I also tried to get the token ID. it failed for sure "Command error" so can't get the Token ID
When I tried the Wildfire_S_All-In-One_Kit_v1.0. The same thing happened: "Command error"!
Yes, the HTC SYNC was uninstalled. The debugging was on.
I didn't want to bother others until I had tried everything I could think of.
With no knowledge on android, I have spent 10 hours struggling with different approaches found online. Need some help now.
What procedure should I follow for my phone if I want to use Wildchild?
Thank you!

Thank you so much, Sir.
I followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533639 here and applied that recovery file but nothing happened. I still get the wrong model ID message. Then I rebooted the phone and found out the HBOOT was not changed.
So far there seemed to me two solutions on the forum.
One is to update the HBOOT to an unlockable higher version then update the RUU and get it unlocked again. Or do some trick with something like ROM 1, which I have no idea how to get access to.
Extract the rom1.zip from the RUU, copy it to the root of the phone micro-sd card, rename it as PG76IMG and turn off the phone. Pull the battery out and reinsert it. Hold the volume down key and press the power on. It should boot into the bootloader. Then it will ask if you would like to update radiov2, choose yes and after reboot, you should be s-off...

Oh... I think I make a mistake. That's for s-off only. For flashing the wildchild ROM, you need to install a recovery other than the stock recovery (e.g. CWM recovery). And then root your device. Then you could install the ROM from the CWM recovery.

I got the WC3 on my phone with ROM 2 and ROM 1 -tried both but the "unlocked" pink line is now above the specs. I tried the RUU program. It says "model ID error" again... WC works now but how can i "unlock" it? btw, the phone is still s-off but locked.
I think because it is "unlocked" so LinkSD doesn't work. It says ext2 may not be supported by your device. Try FAT32". What is wrong? I followed the WC3 instruction created by the developer - 1 FAT, 1 EXT2 and 1 SWAP. Another problem I have is after move 1 apps to the SD card. It is full. I have a 4 G card with 1.2 FAT32, 512 Swap and the rest is EXT2.

[Q] HTC DESIRE - Unroot for a newbie (me)

Hello everyone,
I need to send my HTC Desire to repair.. I have rooted my phone, currently I have Oxygen installed. To root my phone I used ClockworkMod Recovery (I have installed ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7), and I'm trying to get back to the factory settings..
If I reboot my phone in "bootloader" mode, these info are shown:
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101

I know there are a lot of guides on "how to unroot htc desire", I've googled a lot, but I'm really scared to brick my phone.. So.. I'm here to ask your help to be sure to follow the right steps before proceeding..
A friend of mine has recently tried to unroot his phone running a "RUU..someversion..someradio...exe", but now he's stuck with a black screen with alert images on the angles, and since I was on my way to do the same thing, I decided to be really really really sure to do the right thing..
Any suggestions? Any specific guide I can follow?
If you need more info or more details about my phone, just ask (even if you need to know the colour of the phone, if it helps to unroot properly )
additional (maybe useless) info:
- my phone is unbranded
- I'm from ITALY (I guess I'll have to choose some "europe" ruu)
Thanks in advance, best regards
Download the 2.3 RUU in my sig, put it on the root of your sd-card, boot in hboot, select yes, then wait and don't panic.
