can anybody tell me what this is? Is it just a dock for the laptop? I'm watching the video without sound at work so I have no idea what this is

Hard as hell to understand the guy... But it seems like it's a plug that lets you navigate your phone from the laptop.

think of it like this... its like an external keyboard and monitor, except it's put together...
that's what i think of it
all it does is provide a bigger screen and keyboard plus battery when you dock your s3 via cable.
no processor or ram as cpu and memory is borrowed from your s3. probably why they can sell it for an "affordable" price.
definitely not a laptop. if I remember correctly, it's only compatible with s3 at the moment, though they night release future models with wider compatibility

Could you put up a few close up pics and a quick review? It looks mighty nice, but it's not exactly cheap.

Hi all, what's the answer of the Samsung girl for the question :...this becoming to other samsung product?
youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=O-sAEJmTswU#t=114s
Looking forward to this, with an all you can eat data plan on three I'll be able to send as much iplayer and sky as I like to my TV. I'm a student you see so it'll be a cheap way to steam media and games (replace my console?!)

will this adapter work with other devices, as in connecting a samsung laptop to a hdtv. rather than it just being for galaxy s3 to another device?
For the £80 it costs, you might as well buy one of the Samsung smart Blu-ray players on e-bay, also including all share compatability. Not that I need a blu-ray player, but at least it wont be potentially obselete in a year when i upgrade, plus I'd probably use the streaming functions.
Yeah, I have a Philips BDP which has Simply Share, and that will take care of any movies, music or photo's from the SIII
But.
The Samsung dongle will allow you to mirror the SIII on to your TV and play games using the SIII as a controller, which is kind of neat, not sure its 80 beer tokens worth of neat though.

I think it will be SIII specific.

Does the dongle need the Power or takes from the hdmi?
I'm pretty sure it needs power
Does it use the direct wifi or needs a router?

Yes 2 cables one for Power
Is important to know if needs a router
I updated my post because the information changed. I wish this would hurry up and come out so we can try it.

Hi xda friends.
I'm wondering if there are any universal "game grips" on the market that would work with our Android toys. It seems there are nearly a hundred of these floating around for iPhones, but I've yet to see any that would work for our larger screens. Attached are some examples of what I'm talking about (bottom pic minus the controls).

Never seen those things before, but they could be really useful! Many type of games are simply unplayable with a touchscreen only. I at least have a real hardware-keyboard on my Sony Xperia Mini Pro, so this is an improvement to regular smartphones at least. But a real grip and gamepad-like buttons would make gaming much better.

This one looks awesome!
GameKlip with a PS3 controller
Not bad as well If you have the applicable smartphone at least. I don't like the solution with extra cases and adhesive tape for other devices though...
Yeah, PS3 doesn't work with the DNA. Rooted/sixaxis or not. I have a gameklip and it sits unused.

Actually, I don't think "Game Grips" is useful...
Gave my dad my N2 last week, just picked it up today to look at it and there was a notification for an update. Pretty sure I gave it to him up to date. Anyone else getting this?

No tmobile. Going back there now, I'll try to take the update and see what's up.
I found it weird no one has noticed it but this is definitely something new. I know for a fact that phone was up to date when I gave it to him.
Strange... someone is claiming the s3 update is live also

Yeah sorry, guess it's just MD1. Saw it was out for the international version and thought this was it. Strange cause I thought I was up to date.
