[Q] Widgetlocker in Galaxy Nexus - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi, I installed widget locker and all was well until I realized that the three buttons in the bottom - the return, home and application buttons do not disappear in the lock screen...
If those buttons are still present it doesnt even look like a lock screen anymore....
Is there any setting by which I can make those buttons disappear ?

If your device is rooted, there is a widgetlocker setting located under advanced/root helper called hide navigation buttons.

[Q] Stock browser: quick toolbar + fullscreen, no soft buttons??

Hi all,
I'd really like to know whether setting quick toolbar + full screen browsing into the stock browser does hide the software button of ICS. I mean: does it really have a fullscreen browsing that way, can I use the whole screen?
A screenshot would be really appreciated!
You know what: I own a Galaxy Note and I cannot make up my mind whether to change it or not for a Galaxy Nexus. I have an ipad2 too and maybe a note is too much. But I like big screen and maybe a nexus with its 4.65 screen it's the perfect size. However, browsing on a 4.65 screen with ICS software buttons, it's like browsing on my old Galaxy S2 in terms of visible screen. Thus browsing in real full screen would be great!
Thanks in advance
The softbuttons are still visible in fullscreen mode.
There's the labs feature quick controls which hides the address bar, also a labs feature to hide the notification bar, however nothing removes the soft buttons, they just turn into dots and dim.

Thanks for your answer!
Then the best I can achieve is to remove address bar and notification bar.
Such a pity!

Who knows, maybe one day devs will be able to hide them, like it happens for videos.
That would be great! I mean: when you have the quicktoolbar, they could insert there a back button and we could have the whole screen estate to browse!
That's what I'm hoping happens, if eventually someone manages to get them to hide from a swipe down then reappear with a swipe up or press of the power button or something, It would be awesome
Not, until we can access the bookmark via Quick Control as well.
Currently, when you enable Quick Control, you need to long-press the back button to access the bookmark.
There is no other way ...

Actually, if you go to the new tab shortcut, the bookmarks tab is in the top right next to the new tab and options button.

[Q] How to remove Front Touch Buttons?

Hello friends!
I got my LG G Pad Yesterday
Is there a way to remove the Front Touch Buttons? I couldn't see any options in Settings! Is it possible after rooting?
I plan to use only gestures for the front key button functions... May be we can use the screen real estate more effectively if we get rid of the buttons?
Any thoughts / suggestions?
I just installed an app called GMD Auto Hide from the Play Store. It provides an auto-hide feature for the touch buttons. It seems to work well, except that it overrides the setting on the phone that lets you change the button order. I want to set up the soft touch buttons so that the "back" key is on the right to match my Samsung phone. It appears that the GMD app doesn't have a setting for that. Too bad.
Does anybody know a way to get auto-hide and also customize the button positions?

Thanks for the quick reply.
With GMD auto hide, does the display get extended to the button area or the area just becomes blank?
I am thinking of using GMD gesture launcher to to replace the buttons...

It gets extended. I haven't used it very much yet, but it looks like it does the job, if you don't mind the button order.
Ok, I played with the app some more. When it replaces the soft touch keys, it puts a red line at the bottom. I did get it to put the back button on the right side, but another issue is that it puts a "recent apps" button where the menu button usually goes, then it puts a different menu button on the right edge. I wish it would l wish it had more options to set it up the way I want to.

I tried it, but it didn't work for me. The normal soft touch keys were not hidden.
GMD Gesture is fantastic. It hide autobar (your tab need to be rooted) and replace virtual button by gesture that you can define by yourself. Moreover, the developper is very reactive..

Thanks. GMD does the job quite well. I overlooked the status bar on/off part in GMD?

[Q] Add buttons to app drawer?

Hi
Is there a way to add quick buttons to the notification drawer (the one you open by just swiping down on the screen, I mean), instead of tapping the upper-right button first?
There are very few options I use very often (like wifi on/off, plane mode on/off, rotation on/off) and I wish I could have those buttons directly in the notification drawer, instead of doing one more tap on the related button.
Any idea?
I've looked over the Internet but I can mainly find either apps that include other apps in the drawer or development explanations. I would just like to have a "widget" at the top of the drawer.
Thanks

This doesn't really answer your question, and you probably know this, but there are certainly widgets or mini-apps or something that would let you put something on your home screen (or a different screen) to control those things.

Yeah there's a native widget doing this, thank you.
Yet I'm looking for the same thing in the notification drawer.
In the meantime, if you know a widget that I could freely customize, plese feel free to tell
Nova Launcher might make things easier

So this is not a complete solution, but it will get you closer to what you are looking for. The pre condition is that you have to be using Nova launcher or any other launcher that supports gestures. So in case of Nova, you change the swipe down gesture to "Expand Quick Settings". This way at least when you are on the home screen, you can quickly get to your settings by swiping down or whatever other gesture you use.

Is there a way to add a lock the screen widget or button on home screen?

Been searching but all results are for adding widgets to your lock screen. I just want a widget or button on my home screen to lock my device/screen.
Need a solution that doesn't require root.
Thanks

Thaks, I now realize that I was searching using the wrong words. Instead of lock screen I should have searched screen off. Duh
Well that was short lived, these apps break waking up device with fingerprint.

Is There A Screen Off and Lock App ?

Is there a simple app/apk that allows for a single screen tap to close and lock the display, instead of waiting for the screen to timeout or requiring the power button to be pressed? I tried a couple apps, from the Play Store, but uninstalled them. My hope is to avoid needing to use the Power button to shutdown the screen before putting the phone into a pocket or case. I am just setting up the phone today.
i did this with Custom Navigation Bar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner

Interesting. will have to give it a try. Thanks.
Try Power Toggles, there is a switch allowing you to lock the screen with one tap. Forgot to check if the result are similar to the one you can get from Nova launcher - with the launcher you can lock the screen using two methods, one locks the phone immediately but prevents you using fingerprint reader to wake up the phone, the other does not have this issue, but actually locks the screen 5 seconds after switching it off. I'll try to check it today and report here.
EDIT: Nope, 5 secs are required.
