CM 7 acting wierd after 3 months

Hi Guys I installed CM7 3 months back...!!
It was working awesome at that time but from past 2 weeks i am facing very wierd problem
.Whenevery any call comes to my phone and i pick up my phone
I can't hear the voice of the other person..and music also stopped working
to fix that i have to reboot my phone and then everything start working
and suggestion ??

Well thats a common problem with cm 7.Try to flash nightly 177.I m using this having no problem.U can flash nightly without wiping anything or a complete clean flash..

i had it b4..but its because of the camera sound..try to disable the sound when snap.. just a suggestion...

dudes even the #177 nightly have the same problem. in 2weeks i experienced it 3times. check out the latest nightly #199. i will downlod it soon

Reflash cyanogenmod, whether its a nightly or not doesn't really matter

Make a hard reset and see if it is like when u installed it 3months back. It should be unless u made changes to /system.
If u find it good after hard reset then the issue must be due to the 3rd party apps u installed.

Go to settings/privacy/ and make factory data reset.
Or go to hboot menu and select "clear storage".
Or go to recovery and select factory reset.

Only stuff on the phone will be lost nothing on the cards , I've done several hard resets and it's never touched my SD card.

[SOLVED] Camera+flash+proximity sensor not working

EDIT: SOLVED THis was a hardware problem, solved by htc
My Proximity Sensor, Flash Lite are Not Working Now... And the Camera has become worst.. it is taking lower than VGA type images...
Do you think that the camera and sensor and flashlight are wasted or.. it is a software problem which can be solved
How will I know that my phone is BRICKED...
This is Happening With me
My desire is not waking up by pressing the power button and track ball..
It is happening again and again tried many ROMs aosp's too.. Different kernels..Even different recoveries.nothing is woking out
It is also happening with and without the a2sd scripts of different types..
After everytime this happening I have to reboot my device and after rebooting it works well but as i puts it on sleep be pressing power button and leaving it for few mins again same thing is happening ....
Despite of all this Battery is working just fine..
Only ONE thing is WORKING, as i'm using ext recovery. After the freeze happens I restarts it into recovery and do USB UNBRICK.. than it works flawlessly foe cou[le of hours or may be for one and half hour... then again the same type of freeze is happening .. It is happening with me from last two days..
I think my desire is getting USB BRICKED again and again..I don't know why..
Have you face this problem and may be know the solution..
: Now I've installed RMD recovery which seems to be far stable than others specially 4ext recovery..
: Today I've installed revolution 3.0 from tamirDa the ROM and it is working good...But instead of having 160MB internal space..I am having only 35MB space.... even after flashing leedroid's dalvik to ext.. it is only 133MB..
: I can live with all above as my desire actually started a little functioning ..
But as soon I restarts my phone weather in recovery or normal the phone starts after very long delay and says that battery is 0%... in normal mode it again shows 0% and gets power down..
: Again when I restarted it in recovery and in advance menu put mount on sd, ext, system, boot.. and restarts the recovery it starts very quickly and shows battery as normal.. and after that in normal boot.. it surely takes time but shows the battery as normal and starts functioning...
One strange thing is happening... after all thing phone is flying like hell..so smooth so fast never saw this before...and the battery is going upto 2days normally...
May be this is because I've not installed any extra applications..
My Problems are
1. Internal Memory is 35MB only(I have 1GB of ext4 part.)
2. Phone is taking too long to boot in recovery and Normal too
3. I am not able to downgrade or upgrade hboot..it is stucked at cm7r2
4. no rom except aosp's and revolution 3.0 is working
Here is What I've tried
1. In fastboot mode oem enableqxdm 0, and oem eraseconfig...In windows command prompt
2. Changed several recoveries like 4ext, clockworkmod v5, RMD, 4ext touch by android flasher and command prompt too
3. Tried a AOSP rom mildwild and revolution3.0, Runnymede Ai0 5.0, by wiping boot, system, cache, dalvik, factory reset, ext and everything came along in the list...FULL WIPE CLEAN INSTALL
4. reprtitioned sd card by gpartedlive cd
5. tried changing hboot..both from command prompt fastboot and by putting image zip on sd card.. both says successful but hboot didn't changed..
6. tried flashing stock htc ruu's ... phone stucked with the attention kind of sign
7. to solve battery 0% issue tried mounting all mounts inrecovery then it worked but long time .
since all this i've not estarted my phone.. it is working well but...as above..it is not working
can someone help please

Use HBOOT downgrader and flash stock hboot. Run HTC GB RUU to get back to stock.
Start again from scratch.

What is the reason of you's... Means after what this is happening

I can't take photos with or without flash, auto-brightness doesn't work and when I'm in call the screen doesn't turn off automatically because of the "broken" proximity sensor

How do you know that it is BROKEN .. it might be just a software problem

are u using stock htc.. u must be rooted for using this.. or try another version..

Try downloading sensor test from android market.
I had the exact same problems and that turned out to be a faulty hardware !

I tried it and everything work but light sensor and proximity sensor are not okay I think, their values don't change...

It was replaced by warranty and I think it was the rigid flex that was replaced !

htc replaced the entire phone or just the parts...and how much time it took

They replaced the part. The whole process took 3 weeks. I live in iceland so it had to be shipped abroad and back which added some waiting time

problem with cyanogenmod7

Hi dude,
i am facing the problem please help..... actually i bought a second hand wildfire it was already updated to 2.2 it was working fine. but to sync my account with gmail i did a factory reset after that i started to face the problem like u... (back button works some times, some letters wont press in messaging some numbers wont press in keypad) i have to lock the screen and unlock it again then it will for a while. so i thought it root it this will help me... so i have root it and install cyanogenmod7 its nice but i think it also has some bugs... force close's many apps... browser hangs and so on. so i am thinking to go back to froyo or any other best rom and all..... i dont know which to choose... please help....
as i am very new to android i dont know many things this was my first attempt of rooting and i am succeed.
so please answer in simple language not in a android language (lol)

If you want really smooth ROM (and of course you love Sense) then flash Kwbr ROM.
I am on CM7.2 but never faced any FCs so far

will it work....?

will it solve all my problems.......? coz lately when i was in froyo then also i faced the same issues like this.
any tutorial for kwbr rom... coz i am very new to android just only one time i have rooted and installed cm7 just followed the tutorial.

Just download the ROM's zip file and install it the same way you installed CyanogenMod 7 through the recovery

(connected the phone run the exe followed it thats all )
but still my problem is there..........

I'm a bit confused- that doesn't look as if you flashed Kwbr ROM...? The .exe files definitely aren't for flashing. What guide(s)/tutorial(s) did you use?

An ruu will give you a completely stock phone and in 9/10 cases will fix all software faults, if your still experiencing touchscreen problems after running an ruu then it could be a hardware fault and you may need a new digitiser.

I have a problem with youtube not working i get an error message "ATTENTION There is no network connection right now. Please try again later." I can't access youtube via the app or through google. I believe the app is pre installed as the option to uninstall the app is grayed out.
Thought of a great plan to root my phone to uninstall the app and then reinstall. I don't know what im doing i d/l'd Kingo root, ticked the box for debugging mode but can't find the S-on option to turn off.
In summary i just need to get youtube working again the above is how far i have got but couldn't say if im in the right direction so need guidance.

Hi, welcome to the forums have you tried deleting the apps data from settings/apps/YouTube? And have you tried using WiFi?
If you want to root you will probably need to use revolutionary to gain s-off. Just follow the guides in the general section and the wildfire index from the dev section

I might just be a little tired but im not finding this as easy to navigate as other forums, could you direct link me to the links you mentioned.
The uninstall icon has been grayed out so it won't allow me to.

Got to the S-OFF instructions where it tells me to download a program to help with back dating my phone. Only maybe my anti-virus has drawn up a false positive but its saying its a trojan horse virus.
Possible the site could have been infected?
Also, i don't have a microSD card so do i skip the step or is there something else to it?

If it is anything it will be psneuter, which is a false positive.
Can you boot into hboot and tell me what version you have? ( power off fully and then power back on using volume down and power at the same time. The screen with show a bunch of numbers on a background you will probably not have seen before, tell me them. Battery pull and then reboot with power button to return to normal)
Also a SD card is mandatory, for the whole process, no sdcard - no s-off pal.

Just got home from buying a micro sd. Emailed the admin and he/she reassured me phone roots can cause this but to not be concerned. Going through the guide straight after i post this. Between the both of us hopefully i can get my phone working order and youtube playing again fingers crossed.

Congratulations download an app called root uninstaller. Use it to uninstall YouTube and then redownload from then play store if that still doesn't help try flashing cyanogenmod 7 and gapps and see if that improves any. Remember to make a nandroid back up from your custom recovery, as if anything goes wrong it is a life saver

How do i make a back up from custom recovery?
Also steps or links of flashing cyanogenmod 7 /gapps would be brilliant.
Make it really easy for me please, literally how do i suck on this egg...

Ok watch this video for making a back-up, remember that when you are in the recovery you need to use the trackball to select and push it in to confirm. just do as i do
then download this CM7 and this gapps.
then place the onto your sdcard in whatever way you prefer and reboot back into recovery.
then watch this video
and that will be you sorted pal

Heavy metal you been an absolute star, the only guy bothering to help me out with this. Managed to root my phone and got me interested in making customisation to it in the future, il probably start with the background as it looks boring :good: Also sorting out a backup is a true necessity anyways and the vids a time saver.
However what i have just found out to my dismay would be that youtube doesn't send for updates automatically and doesn't tell you about it when you really need to either. So it wasn't a bug at all. On the plus side i have a root software, back up and an sd card...:victory:

I'm glad your all sorted out pal I've found that this wildfire forum in its day was a hive of activity with plenty of people dev'ing and helping each other out, but as she gets older the people leave. I'm happy to help out here as this is where I was helped first and show the kindness to combat my noob questions. Also a funny thing is that I only found xda and this forum and started all my interest in YouTube was because my wildfire had issues with the YouTube app on froyo! Best problem I ever had all things considered have a blast pal

I diden't want to open new topic , because it' s a same or similar problem , my youtube app stop working , now it is on factory youtube app you can't delite fully from my htc wildfire and it says There is no network connection right now. please try again lather, before i install and uniustall without problem , i have wi fi network ( home network with modem who can transmit wi fi ) . This is copy /paste what i write on google play in youtube app in comentary sectio.
It's been a month now , maybe more and still i can't see youtube application on my HTC Willdfire on Google play , i can see it on web (mobile phone) but cant do nothing with it . Three or four update ago everything was fine until app started to crash on mobile phone , i unistall it , try to install it but device isen't compatible with your device ? I think that Google has dropped support for the froyo version of android. Which means that you must either s-off your phone and flash a custom ROM on gingerbread or higher (guides in the general section) or buy a new device that has a newer android version. Or keep using it via web browser pal.

Lagging HTC M9

Hello together,
I got a strange problem with my new HTC M9.
Everything was fine for the first 2 weeks, but then it startet to lag extremly.
There are mini freezes every few seconds. Sometimes i have to wait 2 seconds for the system to continue... It appears after a fresh restart and with all apps close.
I wanna ask here, before doing a reset and loosing all my settings.
Btw it is a stock unrooted phone (1.32.161.15).
I could not find a topic for this. Noone else experience lags like this?

yes it will remove everything on the internal storage but im not sure about the sd card. just do a back up while its still working.

I have the exact same problem !! have you found a solution to this or resetting the device is my only way out?

If you are rooted with TWRP try wiping cache and dalvik cache through advance wipe if it doesnt work flash a new rom
