What do you mean ? A phone charged at 80% should not last longer than a phone charged at 100%, it doesn’t make any sense because more charge = more battery life.
Generally partial dischargers (not letting the battery drain the battery all the way) will make the battery last long.
Read this, that site has everything you need to know about how to take care of your batteries.

i heard something about battery training
maybe it helps for the battery on the htc one x
charge youre battery for 8 hours whit youre phone on
then turn of youre phone off and charge it again for 1 hour
turn youre phone on for 5 minutes then turn it off again and another charge for 1 hour
anybody know if this works?
There was something similar announced from HTC for the desires. However it really screwed with the battery stats and was only detectable when running custom roms and the UOT battery percentage mods. Mine used to shut down at 20% sometimes, other times it would make 10% which was frustrating. A LOT of people had issues. Left alone on my sensation and that was fine. I would avoid imo.
Want to get the most out of your battery fully charge it with the phone off and fully discharge i a few times when new and the once a month/fortnight after to help it.
ok im going to try that one to thx
A full discharge is bad for Li-Po batteries, but it might be good for Android battery calibration. I would not fully discharge the battery on a regular basis, it will damage the cells.
Hi,
I keep getting multiple views when search the forum regarding CORRECT method for charging One for first few times and then after. Kindly suggest if you know for sure.
Many Thanks...
as allways: full --> empty --> full
most say two or three times is enough
Do it again when you install a new ROM or kernel

don't know which thread but i remember reading about not to drain it down to zero, suggesting to charge when down to around 5%. Hence the dilemma.
Give a hint if you find it again. I haven't read it before
I'm doing as written and have a quite good (in comparison to what you are reading here) battery statistic.
Would you charge it power on or off for first few times?

I don't know wether the advantages with new ROM/kernel take effect when it is off, so powered on.
Dankeschön

You have a li-poly battery, and a lithium polymer battery doesn't need any particular charge method or charge cycle... However there's two things you can consider doing for your phone's battery.
1. Charging the phone for a full 5 hour period (even if it shows 100% charged, keep it plugged in to the end of 5 hours) and then wipe battery stat in cwm recovery if your phone doesn't detect remaining battery correctly.
2. Charging it from 50% remaining battery life is much better than letting it go all the way down to empty!
(I know lots of people told you to let the battery drains completely and then fully charge your battery, but trust me, i'm an electronic engineer, I know better, both draining the battery to 0% and charging it to full 100% are bad for your battery life, those were for ni-mh batteries not li-poly)

Exactly. No need to do full charges. Just plug it in whenever. If you are anal, then keep the charge cycling low. Eg keep the battery on a small band of charge state for example 50%-75%.

So, when the phone battery is down to 50%, we charge it.
And then when charged to a 100%, let it stay charged for an additional 5 hours, after that, or 5 hours TOTAL, from the time it is plugged in?

5 hours total, the point of this is to let your battery voltage go to it's maximum capacity (something around 4200mv, you can check the current voltage by dialing *#*#4636#*#* in your phone and going to battery information section)
And also note that full 5 hours charge cycle is just necessary when your phone doesn't detect your battery remaining percentage correctly... In normal situations just charging the phone from around 50% to almost 100% is an optimal charge method and you don't have to do the 5 hours charge...

The point you're trying to make is that for better battery life, it is important to re-charge when the battery falls to 50%, and not wait till it drops to 5-10%. Correct?
For Li-Po batteries, how low is it okay to let it go, before a re-charge?

Exactly...
It's better to charge your phone between 35% to 75% (optimal value is 50%) and not letting it go under 35% but after all as I said there is no need for an specific charging method and this precautions just give you something like 25% more battery life (and battery life is overall life of your phone's battery before you have to replace it, not the 100%~0% duration)
Hi
I've got an HTC one x as well.
Just wondering if it's ok to using the HTC charger to charge note2??

I think you'll fine but it will take longer time to charge as the Note charger has higher amp
Charging slower is fine, just don't want it to stuff up / shorten the battery life.
Just that I've being feeling that my battery seems shorter standby/use time now..
Maybe becoz started using google now?
Also is there any ways to maintain the battery life? Does discharging still work?

Hey
To my knowledge its best to charge these new batteries often... it was in the old days that it was best to let the batteries discharge completely, before recharging... I've heard that this might even harm the new generation of batteries...
- Bobo
Yes I came across the same info when I was using my HTC one x --> charge as often.
So same for our SGN2
= charge often, no need to discharge method.
Now can anyone confirming that google now drains power more than expected?
Somehow I was getting more than 1 day of life before but now with same usage my battery can bearly make it to the next morning?
If you want a fast charge, find yourself a Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD charger.

So these chargers will charge faster and not harm our note2 battery?
Any perticular voltage or watts to look for on these chargers?

Thank you, the battery life depends on repeatedly charging and discharging frequency, so should try to avoid more charge when the battery power, this will shorten the service life of the battery. Mobile phone off time more than 7 days, should first will phone the battery to completely discharge, enough electricity before use

No that's just wrong!
Phone off, leave the battery atleat 50% charged.
Do not completely discharge the battery if you can charge before it's 0%
It was true for NIMH batteries, but it's a long time since we had those kinds of battery, and ofcourse NiCd batteries.
yep, what rvenes mention should be the go = no need to discharge (drain battery to 0 and full charge).
simply charge as often as possible, not letting it fall below 50%.

HTC charger should work fine.
You can charge with the computer too, usb, but it takes longer time.
hi,
Does draining your battery life until its off before charging a good way?
I remember when I bought this phone the sales rep told me to never ever drain the batt and make sure to charge it when 20% or less.

Maybe once a month. But remember, it;s good to always charge your phone, even if you charge it half an hour, one hour, or fully charged. This way you keep the battery alive.
From what i read, you should usually avoid draining it full or charging it full. But once in a while do so for some calibration purpose.
thanks!
Hi!
The best way ( if you can ) is to power-off your device and than connect to the charger ! - assuming you have less of 10% .
Also is recommended for a battery long life, fully discharge the battery every two or three months !
On the other hand it is not wrong to charge the phone when you think , no matter how the battery indicator shows ! - this type of battery should not be formatted on beginning, cause is not a Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd type !

20%-80% is best fir li-ion/ li+-pol batterys. But I dont do that coz as it is the battrry does not last. I rather charge to 100% and replace battery along the line.
b.t.w. if the battery shows 0%, the battery is far from dead. just the internal circuit cutting the power off
thank you guys!

Good luck replacing the battery on the HUAWEI Ascend P6 LOL
Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo P2, and so far it seems to me to be a great device.
The battery is great and I usually go to sleep with a 65-70% of charge.
So I have a doubt: Should I charge the phone every night, even if the battery is half charged, or should I wait the battery to reach 25-30% and then charge it?
Also, Does the fast charge ruin the battery if often used?
Thanks

Wait for 25 to 30 percent and charge till 80 to 85 percent. It'll make your phone battery last really long!!!!
Why not till 100%?
Because these batteries are at their best between 20 and 80%. They don't like being run right down and charging them to 100% increases the wear on them.
So they will last longer by keeping them between 20 and 80%.

You read it wrong. To recalibrate the battery you must fully discharge ie. to 0% till the phone shuts down by itself, not to 15%. You can fully discharge once per month. To prolong the battery life span try to charge from 20 to 80%. I know charging up to 100% is nice, but all experts tell us that it's not good for the battery in a long run.
Even partially charging from 20 to 80% you still have ~8-10h SOT so all is fine, 2-3 days on a battery are possible.
