Emulators - HTC One V

Has anyone tried out a PSOne emulator on the One V?

ahh.. noo.. u give it a try and letme know was curious about it actually
Sent from my One V

yes, same here...
wanna try it too, but since one v ram & screen are a lil bit small, so i'm not very sure it will runs smooth...

In my experience it is a bit cumbersome to use the emulators without a keyboard or more programmable hard keys.Though is should have no problem running the games I was running emulators on my Optimus v with little to no lag

The only one I found cost money and the one I downloaded wont work without a license. I found a free Nintendo 64 Emulator at the Play Store.
Here's an awesome site I found. I have a ton of ROMs downloading. I didn't have to register or anything. I will test them out soon and let you all know if this site is legit.
PS-I saw reports of someone running a PS emu on their phone that only has a 600 processor. So if that's true then our phones shouldn't have an issue.
My SNES and GBA emulators are running my games without problems. Going to test out Nintendo 64 now.

Confirmed. It works quite well actually. The only problem I have is the N64 Emu I'm using. It works great but has WAY too much spam ads that pop up. They will even pop up in your notifications.
EDIT- Do not download the N64 Emulator from the Play Store. That's the one with all of the ads. Use this one instead.

It's important to note here that although console game emulators may be shared on XDA (as long as they're free), the ROMs themselves are considered proprietary software and may not be shared or linked to. For that reason I removed the link to the ROM sharing site in the post above.

[Q] Has Anyone Tried FPse Yet?

Has anyone tried the new PS1 emu yet? The word generally is that it is miles ahead of psx4droid, however i dont have a G2/desire z yet. Im looking at getting this phone as my next purchase.
Yes, ofcourse. It is way much better than psx4droid! There is a thread on xda discussing FPse!
trust me its a hell lot better than psx, fpse is so much cooler and it runs a lot smoother than psx

The word would be correct. Just don't confuse savestates with loadstates. That made me lose about 4 hours of FFVII when I was drunk. Its badass though. I went online and found a FFVII savegame and put it on my SD, fpse read it just fine and I was back in business.

Was using it back in my WinMo days, now I'm using it on the DZ and I love it, the hardware keyboard makes all the difference.
Runs nice and smooth (I play without sound, though, personal preference).
FPSE is ok. a lot of the games that work on psx4droid, dont on FPSE, which can get quite annoying.
But the frame rate and the over all smoothness is better on FPSE.
AND if you get sixaxis pair tool from the market, you can play the games with a ps3 controller (FPSE)! The controller doesnt work however on psx4droid.
(Just a little input)

I used to play a lot games on arcade machines, so first emu i got was mame for android and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
Here is a short video of game running. Smooth and so good enjoyable title.
Lately i play GTA III, which is lag free for me on stock rom and Doomlords kernel without overclocking my Experia.
I also have nearly every game for Atari65Xe and just play them occasionally.
Bruce Lee is my fav one.
Ps. I have tried to post links, for a quick overview, but failed due to low post count

[Q] Has anybody compared Cps2, Neogeo, and other arcade Emus?

I was wondering if anybody has compared the competing arcade emulators that are available for the Xperia Play.
I mainly want to know what you prefer and why, so that I can make an informed decision when I pick one (or some) out.
For NeoGeo I prefer Neo.Emu over Neodroid, as the speed and intuitiveness are quite good and it controls very well for me too. Although it doesn't run any roms maid post 2000, which is too bad as I'd like to try out some of those later titles on this hardware. To be fair though I have not used Neodroid extensively as I kinda fell in love with Neo.Emu.
For cps2 I have tried CPS2HD, after fiddling with it got a few roms to work and the controls kinda work on the Play, but there are hiccups sometimes. It looks nice, but sometimes runs too fast. I have only tried a few roms though. I have heard that Cpsemu is an alternative but haven't tried it yet, and maybe some of those mame emulators too, but there are quite a few of them, plus I never really used mame proper on the PC, anyways I would really like to know what your thoughts are on the subject.
Any emulator wizards out there that can review and compare some of these emulators for a guy like me?
If so thanks for your time, I sure will appreciate it.

For me it is and has always been Tiger MAME. It runs neogeo, cps1,cps2, and more. With local netplay. Plays awesome on our phone. Nice and fast.

Cool. I have heard of it but have not tried it. Are you using the current version? I see that there are free versions and pay versions of tigermame on some stores. The google play store is very limited in my country, so some apps like this are difficult to get a hold of.
And sometimes can end up buying an obsolete or fake version from these shady Chinese marketplaces.
Which mame Rom sets is it optimised for? V145?
Sent from my PLAYSTATION PHONE using tapatalk
The free lets you save bit not load that save. I paid the $5 from within the app to unlock it. Totally worth it. Plus it gives you net-play. My friend and I play the Dungeon & Dragons tower of doom all the time on team mode.
Also this tiger mame is not on the android market. And I have tried all types of make sets and it takes them all, at least for me.

[Q] What emulators do you use for Snes, Nes, Sega etc personally?

Sigh.. ever since yongzh got pulled off the market. More people release theirs. Now I know .emu series was good. However seems more and more are coming up. So really what emulators are you all using? Personally I have not seen a need to replace any of yongzh's work. Then the latest one that works better then fpse, is the epsxe now for playstation.
So anyone here tried multiple ones? Which ones should we stay with? Kinda sucks paying 4$ per emulator and you dont even know how it compares to what was already out there for us.
So do you feel yongzh still has the ideal emulators or do you think anyone replaced him yet. Thanks. =)
I've used yongzh em's since they came out. The only 64 em I use is mupens64plus. They run great on my play. I haven't had the time to compare other ems because im testing aokp atm.

Cept I am reading that on ICS, seems Yongzh lags now? So confusing lately.. stupid google.. remove one dev but let all the others stay.
I use Mupen64plus for N64 and Gameboid for the GBA
When i'll upgrade to ICS i will use N64oid cause of the Touchpad Support
Gesendet von meinem R800i
N64oid work well on ICS?
I don't have a Play yet. (Planning on getting one for emulators) but I have been using the emulators by Robert Broglia on my Nexus 7 and Evo Lte. They aren't free (maybe he has free versions but I'm not sure)but work really well. I liked that he had iControlpad support built in so i no longer needed to use a second app with my icontrolpad and it appears he has Xperia Play support as well. The GBA bios is also built into the GBA emulator which isn't a huge deal but a nice little bonus.
I also have a full set of the oid emulators and a full set of yongzh tiger emulators if I need them as well. I prefer the emulators that Robert Broglia puts out due to them being actively supported.
SNES
NEO.emu
MD.emu
NES.emu
Scummvm
N64oid
FPSE
GemRB
MAME4droid reloaded
cpse
and now , nds4doid and Dsoid
they are AMAZING , #1

Haven't tested it yet. But the Performance should be better than mupen64plus.

Mehdi are you running ICS? Cause that seems to be a well thought out list you just gave us.
Also epsxe has been running so much better then fpse on ICS. I mean like wow solid. =)

What's Your Favorite Game Emulator Variation?

Hi there, for a while now I thought the 'oid' series had the best emulators, like N64oid, GBCoid, Genesoid, etc...
I guess I thought they were the best because they were the first I've come across. But after recently browsing the market I've discovered that their are other variations of these already existing emulators, maupen64 & NES.EMU being 2 examples. Through little research I found that the 'oid' series usually have the best game compatibility, but yet while comparing them to similar apps in the store I discovered other emulators include interesting features such as new play, multi touch, and minor things of that nature...Especially PS1 emulators, there's like 3 of them! FPSE, EPSXE, I think PSX4DROID is still around? IDK.
My question (s) to you all is what game emulator do you like the best, and why.
Like maybe list the pros & cons and give your final decision on which you like the best?

hello,
i have been using xperia play for over an year now....i have tried almost all emulator related stuff that is available on market....i used psxperia(and fpse for some games). epsxe: well good graphics OpenGL support but too laggy on GB....psx4droid : too laggy and unplayble, So fpse is best as its new version supports touchpad on GB so u dont really need Psxperia conversion...and if u have ICS and overclocking enabled...it is best option for me..... and for nitendo 64......i have tried mupen64, n64droid and emu.n64....mupen64 supports touchpad that is good for some games but the performance is far behind n64oid....emu.n64 is average, a little lag but less supportability .....So if u have n64oid and you are using ICS 4.0.4 stock by markphyton with custom kernal .....it supports touch pad and is fastest available on market yet........so n64oid is best choice with ICS -nothing better......and talking about other emulators....u can use any since they work almost same ....no big issue!
thankyou and sorry for my bad english
Thanks for the input.
I'm on GB so I guess I'll stick with N64OID & FPSE. I am a little disappointed that N64oid does not support touch pads tho...

I like anything that has to do with all gameboy variations. Playing OOS or ooa is just awesome. Yay for Zelda!

For GBA emulation, I was using Gameboid and it was fine, but now I tried MyBoy and I prefer it because it doesn't need a bios file and you can disable linear filtering (so the image is pixelated instead of blurry, which I like better)

I haven't seen an update for that recently... if ever...
