so im on CM10,
is there a way to get rid of the lockscreen? im not talking about the screen where you use a pattern, face, password.
im talking about the initial screen where you have to drag the button to the "unlock" button (which then subsequently opens up the pattern, etc page)
so for me, i have a pattern.
but i dont want to use the "slider shortcut" thing to intially drag it to "unlock" THEN swipe my pattern.
i just wanna immediately go to the pattern swiping screen.
is there a way? thx
I know on tw ROMs you go to
Settings>security>screen lock>none

no i want the screen lock (the part where you swipe a pattern)

From the play store get no lock app and you good to go.

When you set up your pattern lock (Settings --> Security ---> Screen Lock ---> Pattern) it will have a check box for the "With Swipe Lock" If you have that unchecked you will not have that initial screen.
thanks!!!

Normal black lockscreen. I open Dolphin to a webpage and hit the power button. Now on my lockscreen I have the settings dots showing through. Anyone else?
That's not a Glitch,Almost all apps have that function,It's so you can jump right back to what you were doing,as soon as you tap it,it will unlock the screen & bring you into your current app

No ****? I don't use a lot of Apps. The only one installed currently is Dolphin on my GN. Neat feature.
it actually is a glitch/bug.
normally the menu buttons should be hidden when you lock the screen, but due to a bug, they don't.
there is no reason for them to be there, as a simple unlock of the screen brings you back.
so this is a bug/glitch and hopefully it will be fixed.
One for and one against. Anyone care to be the tie breaker?
It happens when I lock it from twitter. Maybe other apps as well, unchecked though. Here is a pick of the reproducible problem

The option dots. They hold no function when pressed

it's a bug in ICS that displays the menu buttons when on the lockscreen. it's not suppose to happen. most likely they'll fix it in an update eventually.
If u use ADW EX home launcher that 3 dot menu on lockscreen unlocks the phone by just pressing on it.

Only if you use slide to unlock.

It happens in WhatsApp too.

If I don't go back to home screen before I lock. I have the 3 buttons displayed. These seem to override the slide to unlock. This is not really an issue tho I suppose as slide to unlock isn't secure anyway

I assumed it was a feature. It only pops up on slide to unlock setting and I always use that instead of sliding when I have apps open.

But isn't slide to unlock supposed to be a more secure lock over a none lock to prevent accidental phone unlock in your pocket? That's the whole point of "sliding" to unlock, not "pressing".
If that really is a feature they should give us an option to disable it. But I still think its a bug.
How often is something in your pocket going to find those three little dots and hit that specific part of your phone to unlock it..?
Better yet.. how often is your phone screen even on when in your pocket?
This always happens when locking when you are in an app
Or in browser....sort off shortcut feature tap it and you are right back in the app that is open at the moment

I think u missed my point.
It defeats the purpose of "sliding".
Why not just have ONE unlock button instead of sliding and 3dots?, since both have the same function.
Isn't Android about choices? Couldn't I chose to tap the 3 dots vs sliding all the time?

Well, then I want my choice to disable that "feature".
this is a bug, even google has admitted it's a bug. why do you find it so hard to believe that?

That's what I said, I hope ppl joke when they say it's a feature. Otherwise its sad to see "unwise" individuals on XDA (no offense to anybody).
I know this bug might not bother many, but I really want stock Android to be more polished and not half baked.
I hope OTA update is coming soon with fixes for all these little/big bugs.

Why do you care so much? It doesn't matter if people think it is a bug or not if it is a bug it will get fixed. It doesn't make a difference if someone thinks it is a bug or not because either way it will be fixed if it is.

I just installed aokp to my S3, loving it so far.
Is there a way of showing the lock screen slide to unlock when a security method is enabled? When there is no security enabled, I have the little lock at the bottom of the lock screen and can slide it to either open the camera, Google now, or to unlock the phone. When I activate a security method, that goes away.
Thanks
Any ideas ??

i used to use aokp (ics version) on the nexus s, and the functionality was definitely there. look somewhere in rom control?
Tried that but no luck. Will mess with it a bit more.
If anybody else knows how to get it working please chime in!

It looks like it hasn't been added since Aokp JB came out. Just going to have to wait.

If I am understanding correctly you want the Swipe option then you get the Password/Pin field instead of it asking for the Password right away when you turn on the screen? If so go to Settings>Security>With swipe lock

Yes, that's what I want. It turns out this version of aokp doesn't have that option implemented. Guess will have to wait to see if it gets added in future versions.
Thanks though !

Hey guys. I just got my sgs4 last night and I got 2 questions coming from an sgs3 how can I swipe on the lock screen before entering the password? The sgs3 had that as an option. Last question how can I get rid of the notification on the lock screen for text messages? Thanks.
Press text message icon and swipe to unlock screen

I'm confused as to what you mean? I have a password and when I go to unlock my phone I don't get to swipe anything. On the sgs3 there was a check box in the lock screen settings to enable swipe to unlock while having a password and curious how can I get that or why that option wasn't in the sgs4
I guess it's just something stupid that really isn't important. I do need to use a password tho because I can't trust guys at work when I leave my phone in the truck and it's pretty sad :/
Is there any way to get back swipe with pen lock? I like swipe with the color effect but hates that it open the phone up. I'm coming from the S3 and miss the swipe with the animation then the pen lock would come up to unlock the phone.
