so imma newbie and i tryed to flash the destroyer rom onto my evo when i reboot run the rom it keep showing destroyer animation over and over does anyone else know why ?
Wait 10 mins, if nothing, try reboot, still nothing? Flash again.
Make you sure you follow directions when flashing a custom rom. Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache.
hTC Evo CM7-n17
You didn't flash it correctly and you got what is called bootlooping. Just wipe factory/data, cache, and dalvik and then try again.
It will bootloop if you flash the ROM and gapps in the same recovery session. You have to flash ROM, reboot, then go back into recovery, wipe dalvik and flash gapps. If you want the extras, flash larger gapps first, then reboot again and wipe dalvik and flash smaller gapps.
so i reflashed it worked just one problem my visual voicemail doesn't work at all

You need to either flash back to a sense rom, verify that it works, like have someone call you and leave a message, then use titanium to backup the app and data, flash back to The Destroyer rom, restore the app and data, NOT system settings, or use google voice or a third party carrier.
This is really bothering me. I've attempted to flash into MIUI but I am stuck on the boot screen and it's just staying there. I tried two different sources of MIUI, the latest being from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915527 - the thread for MIUI Evo 4G.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I don't know how to make this work. This has been my first try at installing a custom ROM. I already have a backup readily available.
I have tried removing my battery and restarting the phone. How do I fix my problem?
Edit: I have tried clearing dalvik cache and data cache. No go.
Gad the same prob... but didnt bother to ask... i just loaded cm7.. but i would like to try miui lol
sent from my supersonic evo .:CM7:.

That isn't helpful and doesn't contribute to the thread in any way.

I'll first ask the usual question: did you wipe everything (factory reset/wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system, boot, and sd android secure) before flashing the new ROM?
And have you tried to download from this site?
http://miui.us/
Use amon RA recovery, flash a format all zip (you can find it with a quick search) and then flash miui
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
Guys I tried to flash CM 7.1 stable on my girlfriend's defy and on the first try it didn't install correctly the google apps so I had to reflash them again.
Since that moment I couldn't be able to access the rom anymore, it was stuck in boot loop.
So I flashed some sbf's but I was'nt satisfied with any of them so everytime I try to repeat the whole procedure (root, recovery, flash) the CM 7.1 rom that I flash doesn't start, it stops on the CM boot logo.
Today I tried again installing CM starting from a Froyo sbf, but again no success, this time it's stuck on the original motorola logo, not even the CM one.
What can I do? it seems like I'm not able to properly flash a rom anymore, only sbf's work. Thanks!

You should also do a full wipe (data/cache/dalvik/Battery Stats) AFTER applying all the zips.
wipe everything and try
wipe both data/cache and then try
if its for your girlfriend's phone then try cmiui its awesome man.
im sure you will be appreciated for this from your girlfriend.

I'm using an Xperia Arc S(LT18i). I've tried some different ROMs, and some of them boot up normally the first time. But when booted up for the second time and so on, the touch screen is not functioning at all, only physical buttons(Back, menu, power, volume buttons) can be use. May I know how to solve this problem? Plz help...
Give us some more information please. Is your bootloader unlocked, did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing?
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
Yes have unlocked my bootloader. I did wipe all data, cache and dalvik cache before I flash. I even tried to flash using different kernel, but the result is still the same, even the official CM ROM also facing touch screen problem.

have you flashed the right CM rom for your phone?
try flash stock rom, than a custom kernel and rom...
Touch screen issues usually rise, if you install a ROM, which is not for your phone (for example, if you have Arc and you install a ROM for Pro).
I tried to flash using stock ROM, then custom kernel (included in the custom ROM) then only flash the custom ROM... Problem still occur. I also flash the correct ROM, others are using it nicely but me...
Just like the title says. It's been a while since I've flashed a different ROM so I may be missing something simple. I'm currently using stock nexOgen 1.7 ROM, I was trying to flash one of two different CM ROMs and each time I had the same thing happen no data, the three buttons on the front wouldn't work and the keyboard wouldn't show up, it kept promoting a android keyboard force close. Each time I flash I'm wiping system, dalvik, cache, and data. I did not flash a different kernel just ROM and gapps. Let me know if I'm missing something.
Thanks guys

Maybe try going into recovery and wipe cache and davlik and fix permissions see if that straightens out the rom
