Alright, so I had an interesting problem with my phone yesterday. I had deodexed my rom and was trying a few things with it. I attempted to re odex my rom, "ICS". Well when attempting to run the script that I had found, "I will post link later", I had a very bad experience.
I shut down my phone and attempted to boot, and had no such luck. it kept booting past sony into CWM and would freeze after a few moments and my screen would go red and then reboot again, Repeatedly.
I thought I could try some hardware key combos, " power + vol up/down/camera... different variations of them.
My screen went back with just the back light showing with no logo or OS, I had the error of QHUSB_Dload pop up on my computer after plugging in and attempting to recover through SEUS/PCC/or flashtool. "QHUSB_Dload drivers can be found by googling them, I think I found them in Xperia S forums.
After talking with sony support, they had informed of letting the phone battery die and try charging it, well support said it would take 4-6 hours, battery was @ 79% when starting, it took 14 hours to finally die "no joke".
Once battery was dead and screen was no longer backlit, i plugged it in using my wall charger and did not touch it for about four hours, i then decided that i will not tempt fate and power on, " might have booted, might not have", I ran flashtool and reflashed ICS. from there phone booted back to the way i had it and have not had any issues. thought it would be a heads up if anyone runs into this issue again.
So do I. I got the same problem...
Just charge if for 14 hours will be ok?
Yes let it die completely then 're charge to 60% about 5-6 hrs then reflash ics Rom.

So I first heard about the ported ICS rom on Galaxys2root.com So I downloaded and flashed the file from there which was about 300mbs. Flashed then got stuck in a bootloop. I was able to restore a backed up rom. I thought it might've been the wrong rom so I found a thread here with ICS ROM. Flashed it... same boot loop problem except the first rom boot halfway to a att boot screen. this one just stayed black. At first power button turned on the phone to a battery screen but then turned black.. no animations followed. Now the phone is not responded to any button pushes. It just vibrates intermittently when I plug it in to my charger. It had maybe 35% battery life when it got caught in the boot loop the second time. I'm thinking since the power button was working at first that maybe the intermittent vibrating is because my battery is now dead and it won't charge? Is that possible or is my phone just fuqed? Some one please help!!!!!!!! p.s sorry for the long post.

Seems like you messed up on wipes. I had different problem when i didnt wipe well. The link you posted from this forum is not usable ICS. Try to get ur phone on download mode and flash via odin.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I read later on in that thread that I was supposed to perform a super wipe. Also I can't get my phone into download mode. It won't even turn on. It just vibrates maybe every 3 seconds when I plug it in to charge. When its not plugged in it won't do anything.
Try using a different cable to get into download mode. Specifically an LG cable. I've heard of this working for other people.

Yes I've tried pulling the battery. Does nothing except vibrate when i plug it in to charge. still won't turn on. Why is the vibrate a good thing?

Any kind of response from the phone is a good thing. Worst case scenario is phone literally doesn't do anything or respond to any type of stimulus.
So I'm assuming you know how to access CWM and download mode but just in case there's some confusion, here's how I always access them:
CWM - hold power and volume +/- buttons until phone vibrates then keep holding all (do not let go) until CWM appears. (Others don't have to keep holding after the vibrate, but when I first flashed my phone it wouldn't boot into recovery unless I kept the buttons depressed until CWM actually appeared)
Download - (phone powered off already) hold volume +/- buttons (not power); plug in USB cable (still holding buttons); wait for vibrate (still holding buttons); download mode screen appears (release buttons only after this point)
If nothing else works, you can always try sending it back to Samsung/Tmobile to see if they'll replace it for you. If you can't get it to odin/download mode then chances are good that they won't be able to tell that it was rooted and thus would have no reason to void your warranty.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, raver's AOSP ICS ROM (the second one you flashed) doesn't have boot animation support so it's supposed to stay black on boot. Experimental ROMs especially may take a long time for first boot so you should always not touch it for at least 10 minutes before you try any kind of battery pull or powering off.
there are a lot of threads about people having problems when following instructions on galaxys2root.com

I'm Back In The Game!!! The weirdest thing happened. So I went to my friends house and put my battery in his s2 to see if it had any life and it was. I threw it back in my phone and for some reason it booted up to the ROM I flashed. ICS was beautiful on it but I immediately went back to my recovery rom lol. Lesson learned. Thanks guys for the help this was my first time posting a problem on this forum and I love how quick everybody is to help.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Can be a pretty scary experience. Remember: patience is your friend, especially the first time you boot to a new ROM. If you think the boot screwed up, the best way to ENSURE that it screws up is to power it off/pull battery. Always wait 10 minutes before touching it.
So i installed the deodexed rom and went to change.fonts with rom toolbox
Phone boot looped a few times and couldnt get it into flash mode. Its now currently sitting with a grey screen cant do anything with it. Holding power + volume.up does nothing. Computer.not recognizing a phone being.plugged in. Maybe someone has an ideal to help. (Im new to sonys done lots of flashing with other phones though)
Ps its a rogers lt28i running ics locked bootloader
Will wait for it to die and see.if i can get into flash mode then this just wanted to post this as a warning aswell as maybe find other solutions

Please follow my soft brick step in the General section. This has worked at least for 3 people so far, so I think it is a good start.

No need to let the battery die.
Connect phone via USB cable to the PC.
Now simultaneously press the power + vol up .. till it vibrates once.
The moment it vibrates, press vol down, without releasing power button.
The phone should be in flash mode. now you can use the flash tool.
It worked for me.
thanks but that's not doing anything . I think I'm going to have to wait till it dies :S.. hopefulyy its dead by the morning lol... im getting tired of my Zombie droid razr lol

Being a new user of android phone and a noob, I followed all the instructions in the above posts, EXCEPT the INSECURE KERNEL part.
I used the Unsecure kernel for LT28i 6.0.F.0.72 (found out after boot loop that my phone is actually LT28h)
After I entered all those commands (which appeared successful with 0 bad blocks and rebooting finished), my phone booted, showed the sony icon and turned off just to show that icon a few secs later (loop starts). After various attempts in restarting it, I somehow managed to press the power and vol up button at the same time for secs, and it vibrated once. The loop continues. Shortly after that, I tried again, and held the two buttons longer. This time, the phone vibrated once, then after a short while, it vibrated thrice in a row, and the loop stopped. Now my phone cannot be turned on, and is unresponsive.
Can someone please help save my baby:crying:

It took me 36hrs, before I could get my phone back to normal.

I do not wait for battery to die, if it is a boot loop. just press power + Vol Up buttons simultaneously and hold till the phone vibrates 3 times. Then connect the charger and let it charge.
The problem arises when the screen is on and nothing happens. Then you need the battery to die. But Doomlord told me just to plugin the charger and wait for a long long time.
I have done it all.

Exactly, screen was on but no response from the phones hardware. Took almost 28 hours for the phone to discharge.
I was lucky though, after the recharge I was able to catch CWM, wipe everything and restore a good back up. This was by accident, as I turned the phone on by mistake, I meant to put it in flashmode.

So yesterday i tried to flash a new kernel (nova kernel) using cwm and after attempting to reboot, all i felt was a vibration and then nothing happened. Is my xperia s bricked? and if so is there anything i can do?
What works:
1. Able to hold power button and feel the single vibration; however, the screen remains blank after that.
2. Able to soft reset and hard reset but it does nothing
3. Able to connect to pc in flash/fastboot mode
4. Able to flash kernels and firmware (flashed full stock .55 and wiped everything, still no progress)
What doesn't work:
1. Screen will not turn on no matter what i do
2. Phone will not charge (no led, no screen)
3. CANNOT ENTER CWM!
Any help is appreciated.

i'll keep it plugged in though and see if anything happens

After you try to boot do you get any screen response? Like backlight or a quick blink. After turning on with no screen, does the pc recognize as usb drive or mtp device? I was just thinking maybe screen failure.

when i try to boot, i only get the one vibration that signals the phone has turned on (or in my case attempted to turn on). i can keep pressing and holding the power button multiple times consecutively and still get the same result. it's like the phone turns on and then shuts down immediately.
i only get led notifications when i connect to the computer in fastboot or flash mode, other than that i get nothing.

looked at that thread, nothing works. closest i came to something was plugging the phone into the wall for a while until the red led came on, but then it just turns off after 2-3 hours and i'm back to square one
Some have had to leave it plugged into charger for days. Then got green led, flashed and it started.
This is just one way these phones act goofy during soft brick. You just have to be patient, as all who have recovered have said.

I had it plugged in for about 18 hours then the Red light came on.
24+ hours later the Red light was off. So I tried to flash, nothing. It was just a wasted attempted and I nothing happened.
Plugged it back in, ~2 hours later the Green light came on and I could press Power to have the Battery Screen come on.
Flashed it and it worked! Thanks for the support!
I'm not sure why the Red light went off. I'm thinking maybe the cord was bumped and the charger wasn't plugged in all the way?

Maybe you should flash your xperia back to the stock ROM. You can do that using the official Sony flashtool: http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ocked-xperia-smartphones-video-beta-download/ . Just watch the video and (hopefully) you will understand everything. After flashing back to stock ROM you can decide what you want to do with your phone afterwards
Hopefully this solves your problem!

exactly, the other problem is that sus and pc companion both won't repair the phone because the bootloader is unlocked.

UPDATE - 46 hours and still only the red led!
Hi i know there are threads on this and ive read countless ones. i installed BlackZax'7 [The Next Level Begin] on my LT28AT running LT28H LT28h_6.2.B.0.211. everything was working fine after first reboot. call texts 4g lte everything was perfect i was extremely satisfied. then restarted once all my apps were downloaded and went to put cwm recover on it and boom i got bootloop.
Naturally i headed to the forums here on XDA to follow the tutorial to recover from bricked state. what happened was i got bootloop and held Power and Volume + to reset to go to download mode, felt 3 vibrations which from my understanding was a hard reset. i followed the tutorial which said to leave it plugged in until solid red light turns green. well when i plug it in i get the solid red light however no green led. every once and a while ill see the sony logo and starts to bootloop. held volume down to try to get to download mode but refuses to do soo........
after a while bootloop stops and goes to solid red led.....and repeats the same process after a while.
what do i do ive searched forums and some have said to take the battery out however unfortunately i dont own the right tool to get the plating off after the cover.
what should i do its my only phone.......
Any help or a way to fic would be life saving

Hello,
I have recently stumbled upon the same problem and am completely clueless of what to do.....did you find a solution for this without disassembly?
I think what makes sense is to let the phone sit for a couple of days till the battery drains out and to put on the charger then for a couple of days......
please do reply.
Thanks.

Yea I fixed it. What You have to do is let it die then have flashtool ready connect to pc to charge use a rubber band or hair tie to hold the volume down button pressed (You have to have pressed before the Sony logo appears the first time or you have to start over) if it works then you will come back to a fixed phone.
*you have to flash before first bootloop*
I used a hair tie to keep the volume down button pressed had flashtool waiting for download mode plugged into the pc to charge then after about 1-2 hours I saw my phone boot up. It takes time and patience but the rubber band trick worked like a charm

how long should i leave it for the battery to die....it took only 10 minutes for the mobile to charge after the 30 hrs period and it started boot looping without entring flash mode.....i even tried to flash a kernel through fastboot....no use...boot looping!!

You need to read the forum with more attention: it is all written up...
Start your flashtool and pick stock rom. Let the program unzip the files. When you get pop up to connect the phone, connect your fully disharged phone and leave it alone. It will start flashing automatically in about 15 min.
