I am so confused into all the Jelly Bean ROM's that are out there built from leaks of the International version, or the Tmo version, but what ones WILL work on AT&T with little effort, and witch ones will work with some fiddeling.
I am so confused, and I have read and searched each of them, some the answer was clear, some not so sure.
Android Development is all pretty much TW....nothing to be confused about...just read the OPs.

I understand that they are TW's , but Jelly Bean? and most are some (and most) for the Canadian, and some for AT&T, and the OP's have not been clear other then a few , and some of the searches seem not to be definitive. hence why I ask.
The models are the same. Only changes would be maybe adding the lte apn...what rom you interested in?

ALL of them really. if its just the APN, I'm set. I was not sure if there was actualy more to it. (and modem's I assume, witch I have no problem getting and installing)

But really, I want one with the majority of the TW feeatures, short of the stupid bloaty stuff. one with CRT would also be nice.. I'm a sucker for that!

I've ported it to the AT&T S3 but haven't made a thread for it yet because I have one bug left in it, call audio doesn't work. I could port it to the Sprint S3 and upload it in this thread if anyone wants to test it. Call audio should be the only bug, well if there's any bugs in CM10 those will be present too.

well im personally using aokp right now. it takes care of a lot of the cm10 bugs and it has a few customizations that i really enjoy already baked in (i.e. center clock and circlemod battery). the main reason i want the paranoid android is the in depth ui changing. and with jellybean now having 3 different uis baked in id love to go through and tinker with all of that. i really want the 7inch notification bar ui and the tablet camera ui ( i love the option wheel look). but just like it was mentioned earlier, more roms is never a bad thing but the only way i see me giving up aokp is for some PA love lol
Yup it is pretty badass

Since the s3 officially has jelly bean, is it possible to port jb from the s3 to the s2x easily?
Just curious. im looking forward to some stable roms in our future.
I can't say for sure if it's possible or not but I would put money on JB roms for our phone being completely stable, before someone ports something from the S3

As i will, but i dont see it being ported, ever. The hardware has changed to much for it to work. Primarily our phone uses the S3 snapdragon, vs the Galaxy S3 uses the S4 snapdragon. That and the screen type changing makes it highly improbable. It will have to be changed so much, you might as well just call a theme of the S3. From the looks of it, we are getting close to having a stable JB ROM.

It's different enough that porting something would be difficult if not impossible.. Generally to port something you need the hard ware to be quite close.. It would be easier to build something from scratch that to port from something that doesn't have the exact same hardware specifications

So, Google, the company that develops and supports Android, started off as a search engine, which is still pretty useful now and then.

I have both devices. And the s3 has different display resolution, different processor, different gpu, different front and back cameras. So it's practically impossible to port anything.
But being away from the s2 forums for quite some time, I am blown away by all the development for this bad boy.

Nothing exciting. Biggest thing being improved Bluetooth. According to that list, they are leaving out everything from the International 4.1.2 update. And the 4.2 roms we have are AOSP, this update is stock TW.

Yeah it didn't look at that exciting to me. I'm sure Tmobile will lag on this let alone 4.2. I'm running stock now since I got my replacement. But, I think at least for me I'll skip the sgsiv and see what the end of the year holds. I've been through too many phones this last year to warrant me getting the sgsiv. Htc amaze>Sgs2>gbex>sgs3.

It doesn't seem to be much of a upgrade after talking to some Verizon users.

Hey guys. I have an altell galaxy s2 and i have absolutely no idea why this thing is still running 2.3.6. As far as i can tell, its most similar to the epic touch 4G. Im just wondering if any of you guys know how to go about rooting this phone and what Roms need to be flashed to it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Google searches have really done nothing but confused me. Most of them lead to post where people complain about the phone not being updated.

Yes. It's the USC variant. I'm assuming Alltel is using the same one.
AFAIK that variant isn't quite the same as our E4GT. I know there was some ROMs by a former XDA member who's name shall not be named or you get an instant permaban from XDA... not really but it adds a cool drama effect right?

Yes I hear you.:beer: I guess if its a known issue why is it not in the OP?
People didn't seem this quick to yell in the epic ROM threads.
But the same thing happend with Bluetooth on the OG Epic and Android 4.2.2 the driver stack broke BT, but it was not always listed in the op.
But I'll become a helpful S3 forum member as i learn more.

It's wouldn't be in the OP, because HDMI mirroring has to be supported at the kernel level for it to be present at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with the rom.
I think this is why you're not getting any straight answers because you're asking the wrong question.

Devs don't add this to their OPs because it's not a ROM related issue. In fact it's not really an issue at all. The simple fact is that vanilla android, also known as AOSP does not support HDMI-out and with that said there's no need for any OP to state that HDMI-out isn't supported because it's known across the board with AOSP. This also includes the Google Nexus devices since they have no manufacture overlays and are pure vanilla android, which is why I suggested looking into Slimports because I heard they provided HDMI-out support for some Nexus devices but don't hold me to it as I never purchased one so I'm not sure if that logic is true. If so, they might work on othe oem devices running AOSP ROMs but again don't hold me to that. You should look into it though.

I understand kernel vs rom. But IMHO if a device does not do x (Hdmi bt etc...) that it did stock it should be said just for the fact that there Would be less confusion (noobs & new ppl to said device)

It might be known across the board to devs that HDMI mirroring is not supported by AOSP, but the majority of people are ROM users who wouldn't know that. It should be stated in the OP of every AOSP ROM, otherwise their threads are gonna get filled with these types of questions. Thanks for the info though, knowing is half the battle. However, I seem to remember running a few different AOSP ROMs on my GNex that did support HDMI out, not just Slim ROMs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
