[ROM] 22/04/10 Vanillain 2.0 JIT (AOSP)

Vanillain 2.0 JIT - AOSP
I won't bore you with an epic speech. This is my original AOSP build which made Vanillain 1.1. Many of you have been happy using that rom for months. I've implemented JIT, improved OpenGL drivers from the sprint leak, and hugely improved overall performance. There will be a mini update on Friday which fixes a couple of minor issues.
WARNING : I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS BUILD. IF YOU'RE AFTER A VANILLA 2.1 ROM, I'D RECOMMEND ANDROBIN or aHERO UNTIL I COMPILE A NEW VERSION
SO.. straight to the rom.

It's not based on AOSP, as this is quicker and more functional from what I can tell.

What about apps? For example, what version of mms.apk? Sense or stock?

Whats the difference between 5.02?

I'm probably gonna test this and see, I like sense but who knows...

Stock Messaging app - as stated in the first post

Vanillain has always been the rom I return to after trying something else, so installing this is a no-brainer for me.
Downloading right now.

Sorry to dissapoint those wanting a completely AOSP build.
Just try it. It's an interesting hybrid.

Freezes on boot?? I just flashed it 10 minutes ago and it worked.
I took the working .zip directly from my SD card and uploaded it. I always do that just to be safe.
Anyone else having an issue? could be a bad upload.

Oh yes, sorry

it loads about 1.5 minutes (after the nexusboot image turns blue) and than it just stops during the animation.

If a few people are having issues, it must be a bad upload. It worked perfectly for me, first time.

One day I was walking trough the forums off XDA.. **and a lot of text**
Here is a new "old" ROM. Kimera 3.0. Based of Kimera 2.1 but then better
Thanks to Exit93 for the origional ROM and all the work on that one
Changes comparing to 2.1
-EGL update
-Market update
-Build.prop changes to speed up the ROM (idea's from VE6 and Ele 2.1 Reloaded)
-Some outdated apps removed. (download the current ones from the market)
-Removed updater
-Changed the notifiaction pull down a little bit. To make it more awesome (Thanks rdejager and Elelinux for those files )
Since this is sense (And closed...) there isnt much else that could have been done.
Well I tried my best but I am just starting to get into android stuffz, I tried to intergrate FlyKernel 13 made by Erasmux. But yep. I failed. Sooo you all need to do more stuffz before you can run this thing at the best speed around. (For sense)
Stuffz that needs to be said. I am not responsable from broken phones. Broken computers and all that stuff. just follow the install instructions and youll be fine.
Install instructions
1a. Download the ROM (duh)
1b. Download FlyKernel 13 (Again Erasmux awesome work!!)
1c. Download the Lightscript if you like a clean lite ROM. Description and download a little more down.
2. Place the ROM zip file and the Kernel zip file on you SD-Card.
2a. You can rename the Flykernel zip file to include clockspeeds. Do that if you do not want to use SetCPU or something like that (My fav speeds min:176, max:652.)
3. Install the ROM zip file (And get a drink)
4. DO NOT REBOOT, install Flykernel 13 for optimal performance
4a. Install the lightscript if you want to.
5. Reboot and take another drink.
6. Get trough the setup wizard and reboot the phone when you are done with the wizard.
7. Enjoy the ROM.
Keep in mind this is Sense. Sense is more heavy then AOSP. So expect a little slower ROM then AOSP (VE6)
This ROM is Odexed. (still don't know what it is exactly..) But what I do know. Cuss of this the ROM is faster. But 1 downside. I was planning to include a reboot menu. Well to bad that is not possible (yet). Same as the power-controll widget in the notification (NOT POSSIBLE EITHER!!) So please do not ask for those features.
Bugs
-First bootup will have a full green bootscreen. This is normal and it will not happen after that boot.
-If lightscript is used you may get a GAPPS FC. Everything still works fine and this is only once.
-About Friendstream

Nah I just want it to be fully documented else I will get. Do I need to flash the lightscript before I install the ROM, or after? And when do I need to flash the Kernel????
And this is all mostly cuss I did not manage to get FlyKernel into the rom... Yes I know I faill.

This rom is Odexed. Mostly what that brings for the end user is a faster ROM. In feeling. For me that is 100% true. And I had Jager on the phone a few min ago and he was like.
Jheez deze rom is echt verrotte snel... (easy translation) Jheez this rom is really broken fast. (Dutch, weird language)
So yea the feel of the rom more really. It is the ROM that HTC made without extra's but all the goodies like the tweaks and the new apps.
E: Really I release a ROM and then SuperUser has the idea to update... so yea I will upload it to multi as well again cuss I made a small change in superuser.

Hey, congrats on your first ROM. If you want help adding a kernel to it then don't hesitate to ask. I've wrote a pretty good guide (if I do say so myself), that covers ROM porting and so on but includes that info.

Hi girl, thx again for quick mirror, Kimera 1.8 was one of my fav. roms but no longer updating. I‘d like to try ur rom through mirror but failed again, cant open the page...

Nice ROM.. just realised, no Apps to SD though..

It fast and seem stable. I'll use it for tomorrow and share comment.

that's odd. there's apps2sd in kimera 2.1 which is what she based this upon.
I'm running kimera 2.1 and it has a2sd just fine.
and may I take credit for planting the seed (which led to Lira choosing this as her base rom) that this is a nice fast 2.1 sense rom?

Well I myself do not use A2SD cuss it slows down my phone like crazy... sooo Well I can not confirm it.

ROM update from me. Well I have been running this just fine. Tomorow I am gonna be with Jager all day. And his house is like techno heaven, and his car :O A Citroen Saxo with the most advanced radio system I know XD so then I can test GPS, BT, and all the other fancy stuffs..

Gonna trow in my review of this rom. its good. i am not the biggest sense fan but that was mostly cuss of the speed sense has comparing to AOSP. but this...
Well it is still smooth and works fine so I am more then happy with it. and i am gonna stick with it for now. I need a rom that does not reboot on GPS usage and this one does not do that for me so, yea i am gonna go with this one for some time from now on.
ehm well i got nothing else really. and no my house is not that advance, i just use remotes to turn the light on and off, and same for the sound systems and some other stuff. and car XD got a sony car thingy and 4 new speakers.

Sweet. Thanks Lirasina and dkelley for reviving kimera. It really is still my favorite rom on the hero (yes i cant live without fully functioning sense). It was always super fast and responsive. Wakes up instantly when a button is pressed (some other roms do that too, but few). I feel that kimera2.1 is still faster/responsiver? than ele 2.1 reloaded, which i am using now but the keyboard lag is really starting to bother me. Will wait a little longer for bug fixes then will flash this sexy rom

[HTC Wildfire S + Jelly King 2.0 ROM] home button, search button and unlock

I installed Jelly King 2.0 ROM and it's great!
I am quite used to flashing roms and all, since I S-OFFed and rooted it myself (with the help of XDA-dev tutos of course).
But, since I installed this new ROM (I had CM7, CM9 and JellyKing 1.3 before), I have two problems :
- the "home" and the "search" touch buttons won't do anything
- after my phone goes to sleep mode, there is no unlock screen when I awake it (it directly shows the normal screen)
I am too noob here to post directly to the DEV forum, so that's why I post this here. Please forward...

These issues are caused by improper gapps files. Either you didn't flash them, or something went wrong. Now, I recommend you flash these gapps:

These are meant for our devices and they leave quite some space on /system so no Play Store errors. It also has GNow working, except voice recognition.
P.S. Use the 4.1.2 ones.

wipe dalvik cache and then see what happens.

This is not my work,I just share it from another Chinese bbs with you. I am glad you like this.

Now all is needed if somebody do some tweaks on it. It needs some work!!!

Wow.. i never thought we're going to recieve official jb update! Im going to wait for a few more days for V2 before i try..

i have tested it for one day..
bugs are as follows
1:sms character limit to 160.. but can b resolved with go sms
2roblem with services code, u cant check your credit via dialer or activate any other service via dialer
3:it still has some korean in it. e.g in dialer and sounds
4:it always to dial in korea or outside whenever u call and it cannot b turned off in call roaming settings..
these bugs i found in 1 day of use... BUT
the rom us HELL smooth.. as silk
and the battery life is awesome
and performance is extrodinary 7.6k antutu score..
someone plz fix the bugs

OK that's what I've seen so far that it's exactly 186 JB 4.1.2 with most bloatware removed and is in Vietnamese, Korean and English. SMS Characters limit is at 160. Music player, Camera, Lock-screen everything is revamped and looks great!!! HANGOUTS (replaces TALK), Gmail etc. is to be installed later manually. Also it comes with SupersSU (Not Pro), RootExplorer, Rebooter and ScreenOff (I don't know what is it). It's so lovely that soft-keys-lights only lights up on touching them and stays off while interacting the screen. It's super smooth!
The things I didn't like is that on Boot screen it shows ICS Engineer version. It's not completely English (Ringtones etc. are in Korean). Auto-brightness sucks as usual. It's stock messaging app notifications doesn't expand. There is an annoying space above Google Now icon in multi-tasking window. Theme is still Light Colored so I can just pray somebody change it to pure English and Dark JB theme like CM10.1 or something.
BTW on which site it's stated that there is to be a V2 release pending?

Guys I don't know what wrong but my phone's CELL STANDBY and PHONE IDLE processes are draining my battery like crazy even if I don't use it. What could be the problem? Is that a flashing issue?

Update: SphinX v1.0.3 (33.1MB).
It has fixed dialer language to English.
USSD has been fixed.
Fixed Korean keyboard.
Fixed Roaming Calls (Dial to Korea/Dial to International now appears no more)
Fixed *#*#4636#*#*
Only 2G International mode enabled.

unfortunately no new kernel I tired to flash the new kernel image onto it but the Wifi module is not running so enjoy as it is

one important thing is there THIS ROM DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY KEYBOARD the reason is that when i try to put them in ZIP and installed it I am getting an error showing "GoogleKeybaord stopped/ Sywpe stopped" instead I've given two separate .apk of Google_Keyboard(Gesture) and Swype(modified apk)
after installing the ROM, when you boot into it select English then skip the network and location settings (REMOVE SIM CARD TO AVOID MOBILE DATA CONNECTION as it will cost you if you are not subscribed for any data pack), Now goto file manager and install any one keyboard you like.
THE SIZE OF NEW ROM+Gapps is 179MB and the Original size was 201MB

Migrating from CM10 to MIUI V5 on defy+

Is there something special to do to migrate from CM10 to MIUI V5 ?
Or
Just install ROM zip and GAPPS.
I just want a stable and fast custom rom.

Just wipe data+cache then install Miui and gapps for miui

I am using this ROM and its very very stable than any other great battery and no boot loops
further more you get realllllly coool looks...
NO WiFi BUG I DID NOTICED IT BUT IT IS BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO MODIFY SOME APPS AND LAUNCHER AND ACCIDENTALLY REMOVED A MAIN COMPONENT AND GOT STUCK WITH WiFi PROBLEM...
AFTER INSTALLING THAT THING M BACK ON STABLE ONE...
IF YOU WANNA TRY MORE MODIFIED VERSION OF THIS ROM, I'LL MAKE IT AVAIL BY THIS WEEKEND

I can't find the zip to install additional languages. Has it been abandoned or is the pack already included in the ROM itself?
edit: nevermind, I was searching en.miui instead of miuiandroid.

which language you want this pack have Chinese, simplified Chinese and English...
EDIT: from here you can get the language you want

Actually, on V5 for both DEFY and DEFY+ on MIUI.com you can see this: Author: DreamTeam
On the other hand, for V2 on the DEFY page it says: Author: MIUI
That's what's confusing me... I'll try it anyway, hopefully it's much better than the previous builds (which were all ports afaik...)!

will your rom work on defy also, when we can expect it? I see that it has a separate miui v5 download link for defy and defy+...

Previous releases were supposed to be private.
3.7.12 is the unofficial public release.
Defy and Defy+ each have their own release, but they should be the same. They probably separated them to prevent people from asking why there's only one release for both phones.
Why are you even asking? Both versions are available, just download yours!

I ask beacuase I would like to test coolshahabaz version without unnecessary apps....

sry buddy i've DefyPlus only so i was unable to chk my ROM on it....but i am uploading that now on my dropbox will share the link ASAP.....You can give a try and let me kno about it :angel:

I tried 3.7.12 from miuiandroid and I get no sound when calling someone. I have to turn hands-free on to hear something.
The ROM is less snappy than mokee but it looks great. The no sound bug I face is quite ugly, though.
