[ROM][2.21.12] STocKed Up| FASTER THAN EVER | MIUI, bravia + other tweaks!

Future updates: None, don't have a Galaxy S2 anymore.
Hey guys, I used to have a skyrocket and missed a lot of the small UI elements it had that our ROM doesn't. I decided to use one of my favorite roms from over there and port it for our device. I added and removed features based on my liking and tried to make this thing FLY. This ROM is currently a beta but is still very stable. I am still testing it out and should be updated pretty frequently with other tweaks. This is my first ROM in a long long time, if you have any suggestions please let me know! My main focus is going to be on two things, speed and battery life.

Installation Instructions:
Code:
- Boot into clockwork recovery
- Wipe Data
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik Cache (I would do these three twice)
- Install ROM from SD Card
- Boot it up, wait 5 mins
- (IMPORTANT) log into your gmail
- REBOOT THE ROM
- Now your good to go!

no screenies yet but this is basically completely stock from the skyrocket. I'll take some though and post later its just super late right now.

Why don't you flash it yourself and then take screenies? If not, develop your own ROM so you don't have to take any screenies. If those options doesn't fit you, then don't be rude to the dev.

No such thing AFAIK...re-WiFi app to download. Plus specific t-Mobile files required for WiFi calling to properly work.

Sounds great. With no wifi-calling, for me it's a non-starter
Even when wifi-calling was just an app, it was never able to just be downloaded from the market. But now, it has to be integrated into the rom even more so.

how to install:

coming from another version of DARKSTAR
1.) place on external sdcard
2.) using any recovery ( rogue or stock) flash
3.) if having issues wipe cache and dalvik cache ( no real reason to wipe data)
fresh install:
1.)make a backup of your current setup
2.) install Calkulin's format all ( available at the bottom of this thread)
3.) install DARKSTAR ROM
4.) reboot
(not required) 5.) using stock recovery flash the Rogue ET recovery **(note: this will bring the kernel down from FB21 to FB17)

Thanks for a other Rom Jamcar. I will be flashing soon and reporting back. Only mistake I saw in the OP was it said if u flash the stock repackaged it will take your kernel to fb15. It will be fb17. Just thought I'd point it out. Thanks again man.

OP can u bake the apex launcher in, IMO its a way better launcher then nova ...u guys should try it out

What did you have to do to get the 160 dpi to stick, cause when I try to edit the build.prop the phone always gets stuck at boot screen and I have to restore a nandroid

So far this is just a little data speed increase right? I'll make sure to get back to you on any bugs once I flash it.
If you want us to give recommendations, the only things I'm looking to be added are INCREASED vibration (the low vibration is annoying because I can't feel it), and a transparent lockscreen.
I have ICS swype and Handcent theme in my sig, so if you want to add the swype to the ROM i'm sure people would like it

my avg data download was .3 megabits/s now its my slowest was .8 megabits/s

yes mainly cause it doesnt play nicely with the DPI @160

The DPI looks great on this. Thanks for your hard work.

I'm not sure why but the notification bar stopped working for even after reboot.

Great to see more ROMs making their way on this device, and it's so early still Was wondering if this ROM has extended or 'chooseable' toggles ( like quick settings maybe )? If not anyone know of a mod you can flash to get this?

How to Install.
Download rom/update and place on sd card.
Go into a *SAFE* recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache, and factory/data reset(do not do if installing an update).

Sorry I failed to mention it doesn't flash a kernel. I suggest downloading one of agats kernels and flashing it after the rom.

I'll get some themes ready when i get some time in the next few days.

Maybe someone has an answer. For some reason, when I do the initial setup, when I login in it does not restore, it acts like it does, but then I go to accounts, and the account dis not login. It only accepts it in the accounts section. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but the only time apps restore is with the initial login. I did a few resets wiping/formatting everything in the recovery.

Just make sure you have a good data/wifi connection when login in. I also recommend that you use titanium back up for your apps.

For me it was fine. Locked into my.location amd 18 outta 19 satellites in about 5-10 seconds and navigation as well.

I say the battery life for this ROM is excellent, rarely any wakelocks, (only the media scanner has most wakelocks) I get about avg of 17%-20% per hour on screen time
