The stock download manager does neither have any pause/resume support nor shows how must is downloaded. Is there any way to change the download manager for downloading from Google play etc. There are many downloaders present in market but they only download by url.

Hi all,
I just installed google play store from an apk file on this website, and it crashes immediately upon startup (e.g. i downloaded it, installed, hit open, and it kicked me back to the browser page where i originally downloaded it). It flashes up on the screen briefly. I tried this with a few different versions of the apk (4.0.25, 3.10.17), but all had the same result.
I looked at androidandme.com/ thread /play-store-crashing-instantly/ and one guy in the comments had a fix that i can't find in my settings:
"here’s the fix:
settings>>application manager>> all tab>>
scroll to the bottom
you’ll notice google/downloads is disabled
enable it."
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
siudan

I'd say you don't have google apps (gapps) installed. Do you? Here's the gapps zip file for android 4.2.2. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip download, reboot recovery, and flash. Enjoy.

Try clearing data for file manager app
and can u give me the apk for stock file manager
So I am pretty new to this, but here goes....
About a month ago I got some help from a friend and downloaded lineage OS 15.1 to my Lenovo p2a42 device. Very happy with everything, until yesterday when the phone began to vibrate and then proceed to shut down with a blue indicator light showing. After some fiddling and attempts to get the latest update of lineage, I got stuck in my first boot loop. After all my various attempts to solve the problem, I decided to do a clean wipe and reinstall lineage. Which I've done successfully I believe, no crashes yet. What I am having trouble with now is remembering how to download the first applications since I don't have the Gsuite or Gapps downloaded. I remember my friend mentioning a problem with the stock file manager for lineage and I believe that is one of the first applications we downloaded along with the apk pure app store.
If anyone can help this newbie figure out how to download the apk mirror to my device without an appstore, I would appreciate it.
>maybe the answer is to download to my laptop first and then use adb to flash it to my device?
Thanks for the help!!
If you want to have Google apps on your phone, search for Open GApps and download for ARM64 devices (nano package is recommended). Then flash it alongside LOS in TWRP. You will have Google Play Store installed.
But, if you only want APKPure store then you must download the APK from their website (either via computer then move it to your phone, or by using default LOS browser). Navigate to your downloaded APK using file manager and open it, you will have a prompt to install it or not. That's pretty much it though.

I downloaded apk pure directly on my mobile from the website (not interested in GApps). It opens in the LOS default file manager and there are basically no options to run it. I think this is because the root may be disabled, my boot loader is unlocked, but it says adb only in my developer options settings. I am new to using adb to flash an apk. I was able to flash lineage, but not sure how to install the apk. For instance, should my phone be on when I enter command install xxx.apk or should it be in recovery mode or boot mode? I tried once already and the apk install failed, not sure what I am doing wrong here. Thanks for the response above.

Answered my own question. Was able to download a file manager using adb, this allowed me download apk mirror.
Hello,
I'm a little embarrassed about this question, but I cannot solve the problem with search&g**gl... ):
With lineageOS 14.1 on a LG G3, I cannot download files with the build-in jelly browser. Downloading works with Opera mini.
AFAIK, jelly hands over download jobs to download manager, that one always produces an error message. My guess is that download manager tries to download to a directory where it does not have write access.
So - how can I change download manager's download directory?
Cheers,
Wolf

Yes, storage (and location) access is granted.
---> YOUTUBE REVANCED <---
---> APK MIRROR <---
This is all you need to install Revanced on your rooted device. Download the latest version of Revanced Manager and install. Once you install Revanced Manager open it and Grant SU permission, then click on patch and then select your app. (You will need to do this for both YouTube and YouTube music) There you will find the recommended app version. Use APKMirror to find the correct version number of your apks and download them to your device.
You will need to now uninstall the updates for YouTube and YouTube music to install the downloaded versions. Press and hold on the app icons and open app, top right hand corner you will see the three dots, click that and uninstall updates. Now you will install the versions you just downloaded to begin the patch.
Once again open Revanced Manager and click patch and then select your YouTube or YouTube music app. Now you will see a list of patches you can go through, select the ones that you want or press recommended. Make sure you include MicroG support. Now that you have selected the patches that you want go ahead and click patch and let it finish. Once it has finished patching your app you're going to click install.
Now you can delete the shortcut of the original app in your app drawer and disable the original version of whichever app you patched. To disable the app you do the same thing press and hold, open app info and you will see a button to disable. YouTube music does not have a disabled button (at least not on my phone) so you can just uninstall the app completely. You don't have to but this is so you don't get them mixed up or so the operating system doesn't default open the YouTube app with a web link.
I can verify this does work on the OnePlus 11 A.07 firmware.
☺ Enjoy ad free YouTube, if you chose to block ads that is.
Is this installing the rooted way? I think that when it's rooted it will just replace the current app completely... Do you have microg? If not then i guess it's root idk lol

1. No need to select MicroG.
2. Install as root after patch.
3. Install a min-detach module to detach YouTube, YouTube Music and any other patched app from Play Store. This disables auto updates.
