I can't find any info on this anywhere, I've never had to bring a phone outside the US but I'm going to Colombia tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible? This is my last resort to ask it here, I couldn't get a hold of AT&T because of the iPhone 5 release. Any feedback is appreciated.

No Verizon but I'm sure it won't be long before they start flashing it to Boost or Cricket Mobile...
You cant use it on verizon legally, also im pretty sure you can change the prl to verizon
i think within a month or two people will start flashing this over to boost/metro/cricket even virgin mobile
Hmm, well, shoot. The reason I asked is because my work only uses Verizon as its carrier for phones and my boss stated that if it would work on Verizon they would purchase it at full price and allow me to swap it with my current phone. It was their way of saying "thanks for not leaving after a 10% pay cut and not bonus this year."
Thanks for the info, guys.

Hey there,
I'm thinking about buying an HTC Touch Pro 2 from eBay for ****s and giggles to mess around with. I currently have the HTC Trophy and am on the 2gb for ~$30/month. If I get the TP2, will I be able to activate it on the same plan or would it fall under one of their other data plans? This might seem obvious, but want to make sure, but I want to use data with this phone (3g?). Any help is appreciated

Why don't you just contact your provider? No one will be able to answer better than them.

I wasn't sure if anyone else had dealt with the same issue. I was planning on calling today but I figured it was worth a shot here to see if I could save myself some time on hold

Ah, that's what the fancy new webchats are great for.
My company is even implementing a 'click-to-call' where you get to choose what time a rep calls you back - you can choose ASAP, that way there's no waiting, the agent gets a hold of you directly! It's great. I don't know if VZ has such things, but I can almost guarantee they at least have online chat .
No one can answer questions about your plan better than your provider... Especially in situations like you are inquiring about.
I currently have an iphone on tmobile, and i only get 2G because of the clashing frequencies. I want to get a Tmobile SG3 and get 4G, but if i unlock the phone will tmobile still be able to read the code of the phone and make me upgrade to a actual internet plan.
So my question is; should i buy the international SG3 or the tmobile SG3? Thanks for anything you guys can tell me.

Answer, Wrong section. Move to Q&A.
they will find out regardless. even if you buy it from somewhere else. and they will make you upgrade unfortunately.

I am in need of a new tablet to replace my original kindle fire. I was about to pull the trigger on a Tab S when I saw a blurb about AT&T and an LTE model. If it is right around the corner, I will wait. If it is 2 months down the road, I will go ahead and get the one out now.
Any release dates that you guys know of?
None. Samsung will release when Samsung wants to release.

I think it's more like when AT&T wants to release it..
Well I guess it does not have to be an AT&T one. I read that they were going to be the first to release the LTE version. I would gladly get one from someplace else when it comes to the US.

i have 42 days left to return mine and thought about getting a Verizon version. my tablets have always been wifi with my phone as modem when needed but thought it might be nice to have it built in.
sadly i suspect that if i would get a carrier model even if i wanted to pay full retail i would end up with locked bootloader and carrier app garbage all over it?

And slow updates. If ever.
Title says it all. Can this thing be used as a phone? And I don't' mean through Groove Ip or something like that.
The Tab S can be used to make and receive calls, but how do you expect it to do so without the appropriate software to facilitate the functionality?
My international lte makes and received calls out of the box.

Si it has the whole phone interface? Key pad and the like just like a regular Samsung phone? Is it only the international version that has this?
Yep can be used just like a regular phone. Some of the carrier versions are locked down though.

Well I'm on ATT so I imagine theirs is. So I need in international version? How do I go about obtaining such a device? Will I need to install some software to turn it into a phone or will it have all that stuff right out of the box? Alternately could I just get the ATT version and root it to add the necessary software? I found an international version on Amazon but it says it won't work with US LTE.
I have been using my T705 as my main phone for the last 6 months. I prefer to carry only one device, and this is the perfect compromise in my opinion. No additional software needed for the international version. Just buy a good Bluetooth headset. ☺
Yes. But it would appear that the international version doesn't work in the US. Or at least doesn't work with AT&T; which I happen to use. If I get the AT&T version would I be able to add the requisite software?
Maybe you should read this.

If you go ATT you will have very little control over your device and will be locked down.

I see. Thanks for the link. While much of it is way over my pay grade I get the jist that so far nobody has gotten the international version to work with north american LTE.
Do I have any viable options? Am I just going to have to write this one off?
I would pop a message to deadman96385, he seems to be pretty accomplished at this sort of thing and may be able to shed more light on the subject.
Unfortunately I can't help as I live in the UK.

Done! Thanks.
Meanwhile, anyone who has any ideas please feel free to chime in!
Am I really the only person interested in a great big phone? I wouldn't even mind 7" but this 5.5" business just doesn't cut it for most of what I'm wanting to do.
