U need to have deodexed rom and working CWM recovery. After that u put the zip file (do not unpack it) of your theme to sd card, go to cwm recovery and there install it.
thank you for your reply. but kindly would you explain more, what do you mean with deodexed rom as really i'm new in android phones, thanks
For those who, like myself, use Japanese input but wanted to use a custom ROM - I have put together a CWM flashable zip file that will reinstall iWnnIME.
I have tested this using ParanoidAndroid and had no issues.
If you have any other issues, please let me know and I will try to duplicate them on my end and fix it.
Edit: This is my first dev post - If I put it in the wrong forum could a mod please move it?
Hi all,
We have so much excellent JB SAMMY 4.1.2 ROMs on XDA. I9100 still here !!
For some reasons proper to DEVs, many files are removed from their flashable ZIP of ROM.
These files, APKs and dependencies, are frequently all the bloatwares from Samsung and Google.
Generaly, with ROM, DEVs never forget to upload their "Removed Apps Pack".
Their "Removed Apps Pack" are frequently a CWM flashable ZIP.
Sometime, we need some files from their pack and we dont need to flash the entire pack.
There is a simple solution :
In this post, i want to explain to ppl that if they only need one or two apks from the missed appq pack provided for their ROM installed, they have to delete all the others apks in the ZIP before flashing it. that's all.
updater-script doesn't need to be touch.
- open pack with winrar
- browse folders in winrar,
go to \preload\symlink\system\app\ and delete all you dont want
go to \system\app\ folder too and delete all you dont want too
- close winrar and let it work!
Merci and Thanks.
An pretty simple and easy guide
Good job Troubadour
Hello everyone.
I figured I'd share this little gem with the community. I hope I am not offending eny devs out there. Most custom ROM's have this option built in, but if someone is using a stock ROM, they are out of luck.
So, first of all, I am not a developer or a programmer, but through the use of XDA forums I was able to acquire some knowledge, enough to get me in trouble, for sure )).
This is based on original work by Clark44 found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769661
The 4-way reboot menu is implemented in a file called android.policy.jar located in system/framework/. Certain custom ROM's have other things implemented inside this file, so I have 2 options for the 4-way reboot menu:
1. modified stock NF9 android.policy.jar in a flashable ZIP
2. smali files that can be inserted into any custom android.policy.jar in order to keep whatever else that's there; these files should be placed in com\android\internal\policy\impl
I will not be providing any explanations in this post regarding SMALI/BAKSMALI. There are plenty of tutorials out there for that. If you know what SMALI is, then you know how use the files in option 2.
Feel free to ask any questions.
I flashed the zip file but no 4 way reboot menu, any ideas why, T-Mobile note 3 5.0 lollipop
These are for KitKat ROMs only. I'm sure there's an update for LolliPop, but I haven't had the time to sort that out yet.
Flash enabler zip for enable
Flash disabler zip for disable

There is no need to make a thread just to point to another thread on XDA
