You could try and make a playlist on the device of one song. Copy the playlist file to computer and open with a text editor then copy/paste the songs you want using the same format/directories/paths to songs. Save it and copy it back to the device in the correct folder.

HTC Audio Manager Playlists?

Is there a way to import other playlists (.m3u specifically) into the HTC audio player/manager? I've browsed and searched with Total Commander, and can't find where they are located. I found a folder located at Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng called "playlists". But the folder is empty (I created a short playlist in the HTC player to help in locating the folder).
Anyone know the location, format of the playlists, and if there is a way to import or convert existing playlists from other applications? I have CorePlayer too, which works well. But I like the way the HTC player is integrated into Touch FLO 3D.
I wouldn't be that hard to re-create the playlists manually in the HTC interface. But its bugging me that there isn't an easier way to get it done!

I know this is a semi-old thread, but just found it using a search. Have you figured this out? I'm trying to do the same thing on a Topaz. I did read in one post that the playlist files are .asx. I've tried copying .asx files directly to the HTC playlist folder you mentioned, but that doesn't seem to work. The playlists show up in the Library>Playlists screen, but they appear empy when selected.

I have the same problem. Originally the playlists will go to Storage Card\playlist. HTC player sees the playlists but come up empty. If I copy the playlists to Application Data\HTC\Audiomanager_Eng\playlists, the playlists are double in my playlist view.
Both will be empty but I can add songs to the playlists which are in the HTC folder. Please help..
Solution
I found the solution in another thread. Install the attached file Playlistmgr.cab on your device. (i hope i attached it correctly) Then run the program and open an existing playlist. Within that program, in the "File" menu select "HTC Audio Manager". Then select "Save Playlist As" and give the playlist a name (i belive it can be the same name). The program should automatically save the playlist to the correct location for HTC to recognize. You will probably have to perform a soft reset before the new playlist will show up in TF3D.
Hope this works for you.

Playlists and mp3 with special chars, how to?

Hi all,
I'm creating playlists with a prompt command (dir /b /on > playlist.m3u) in my computer, and then I transfer the playlist file to my Desire.
The thing is: some of my mp3 have special chars on the filename (e.g. (Beyoncé) Hallo.mp3). If I edit the playlist, I can see those files in it. I can also find and play those files normally in HTC player. But they aren't loaded in the playlist I have created in my computer, as it was supposed to be.
To put them into my playlist, I have to add them manually to the playlist in HTC player.
I have already tried changing the .m3u char encoding from ANSI to UTF-8 with no success.
How to create a playlist that actually includes and makes Desire plays mp3 that have special chars on their filenames?

[Q] Playlists & Bookmarks

Where on the system are music playlists and browser bookmarks stored? I'm surprised the playlists are not stored along with the music files. Every time I flash a new ROM or restore a previous - I lose my playlists and bookmarks. I'd like to know where they're stored on the system so I can copy them to the sdcard for safe keeping.
Surely someone must know the answer to this!
Thought I would nail this playlist problem, but I'm still mystified. I created a "test.m3u" playlist file in my sdcard/Music/Playlists directory. In that file, I put the name of a single mp3 file from the sdcard. Saved the file, and checked its contents. I then opened the Music app and expected to find a playlist called "test" containing one song. But no such playlist appears.
What to do? How does one maintain music playlists through ROM flashes....?
Way back when I had my old hero I managed to find the bookmarks. It was an XML file if I remember right. I don't know about the playlists though. I found the info for the bookmarks on http://source.android.com under customization I believe.

[Q] Help with Music?

All of a sudden I am getting a lot of trouble with the music on my phone. My iTunes library is very organized with all the artist info, album, album art, etc. I tried to use the Kies app to sync my music on my phone, but for some reason some tracks are moved on the my phone with the title being something among the lines of "01 Song One" and all the other song information is unknown. This is the case with maybe about 30 or 40 songs while the rest of my 2000+ song library are fine. I tried syncing with doubleTwist and got the same result. I even tried just moving the songs directly onto my SD Card and I STILL got the same result. Anyone know anything I can do so all my music are transferred to my phone properly? Thanks in advance.
Have you tried editing the properties of the music? To the proper album name and song name you want?
I do this on my computer when my music library gets messed up

Edit it where? When the songs are in my iTunes library it has all the information correct.
You could use mp3tag on your PC to edit the files directly. In my experience, iTunes doesn't always make the changes to metadata to the actual file and when you try to transfer it elsewhere the data is gone. That's actually why I quit using iTunes. But mp3tag should fix those few files no problem.
