[Q] Gen.Y VisionX R1A camera zoom problem - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
This is maby a real noob-question (because I missed something to download/install), but I have a problem with my camera in the Gen.Y VisionX R1A ICS ROM. The problem is that the zoom-function of the main camera doesn't work in the stock camera app (not in photo mode or in video mode). When I press the zoom buttons, the phone actually changes the call volume (the default function when viewing the homescreen). I couldn't find any information in the ROM thread, or users that have the same problem. I really like to stick with the stock camera app. Also, in video mode, the stock app is very unstable.
Are other users having the same problem? Does anybody know a fix?
Greetings,
Patrick

You can slide your finger over the zoom bar on the bottom of your screen in the camera app.

Camera issue

Didn't really know where to post it so I'll just place it here, please move this topic if necessary.
After flashin my device with some of the latest ROM releases I've noticed a problem with camera. By default in those releases the option of rotating picture 90 deg after taking a photo is turned off, so if I hold my device horizontally while shooting a photo, the picture is rotated. (yarr, this description pwnz)
That issue does not depend on any particular release nor sys version (both 6.1 and 6.5).
I believe this started with latest builds, didn't experience that with previous ROMs.
Try this
Gen.Y SensorSDK 3.3.18192831.1
The HTC Camera has a slight rotation issue with the new SensorSDKv4: the camera will only remember the rotation info at startup, so if u fire up camera in landscape (portait) mode, all your pictures will be taken in landscape (portrait) mode (even if u change the rotation when taking pictures). The only way to resolve this issue is to install the old SensorSDK. But the old SensorSDK has some disavantages:
* No native HTC rotation in Calculator (and any added apps in G-Config), requires 3rd party software for rotation (like ChangeScreen)
* While zooming in on a picture in AlbumV3 in landscape mode, the picture will turn to portait and some sort of overlapping occurs. The zoomed image however display fine, it only happens while you're zooming.

fullscreen camera?

is there any way to make the camera on XDA IIs appear fullscreen? or is there any ROM with that feature?
all the roms use the same camera driver and app, that is why the cam interface is still the same it was in wm2003. i don't know if it is possible to change that.

Camera App

I have Ginerbread ROm villan 0.8 running on my desire however it has the horrible Camera app with the gry mottled effect around the touch screen buttons.
is it possible to flash the old fullscreen camera app from froyo ?

Text flow - fit to screen

While browsing and using pinch to zoom on htc sense roms text is automatically adjusting to the new screen size.
I noticed that senseless roms like oxygen and cyanogen are lacking that feature so im wondering if there is a way to enable it, cos it really makes a difference for me while browsing.

Pinch to zoom, then dubble tab on the screen.

[Q] Camera image is flipped in 3rd party apps during reverse landscape (cm10.1)

Hi guys,
I have a next problem. In my car dock (with pins) the phone is positioned the way that power button points down. The phone detects orientation no problem, so all apps have proper reverse landscape layout even those that suppose to have fixed landscape. The problem is the apps that use camera are showing and recording video upside-down (I tried DailyVoyager, Track Recorder from Torque PRO). Stock camera works fine. The rom is CM10.1
Is the any fix for that?
Thanks for reading

Additional input. This camera bug happens only with apps that force "landscape" orientation, so when dock overrides this setting by "reverse landscape" everything except camera gains proper orientation.
