I know this isn't relevant to the gs3, but I own one with an eid plan so I figured why not
Anywho, I'm having a hard time understanding my bill, the first one was 71 dollars as expected
20 dollar eid
35 dollar voice
5 dollar texting
10 dollar data
tax
Now this one is 51.30
did they forget to include the eid or?

No the activation fee was waived, it's my second bill though.
Corporate Discount?
I get 15% off from being a student but that's like 8 dollars not 20.
call tmo and ask?
Yea, that's a 611 question.
id prolly let that one stay a mystery, maybe itll be like that every month from now on. tmob makes huge money, let them catch their own mistakes.

Its eip not eid first of all
And eip doesnt go on the bill right away. If you look at your eip papers, you will see a date when it starts going on. Usually about 2 months from when you activate.

I really think you need to ask tmo but I bet it's because your first bill included a partial month.
The phone payments start about 2 months in.
First bill had pro rated charges, second bill is your regular bill, and third bill will have the regular bill plus the 20 for your phone that was split up on E.I.P.

Only if you're at a qualifying school. Mine didn't qualify it used to but was only 8%.
Only certain schools. Private schools don't get one and if your on the value plan, you don't get one either. So to the original poster, if your on value plan, your not gonna get a discount on your bill. No if ands or buts, but if your on the classic plan you do get one. Only benefit of a student discount on your bill is to get the act fee waived on value plan.

Wow, and you work for T-Mobile? How bout you call customer care tomorrow, enter your little token and pass code and ask them if a customer on a value plan gets a discount on their bill. What really bugs me is how some reps will lie to customers about that discount in order to have the activate. Have heard of that happening!

Just ordered mine but I didn't see an option for white. I didn't want white anyways but worth mentioning.
Scheduled to ship on Nov 6th which is a little faster than what we were told.
Unfortunately I can't seem to pre-order the phone through my corporate portal to AT&T, so I am not sure what to do. Guess I gotta wait until release?

I didn't see it in the premier store either, so I called to check with them. The guy told me to just order from the regular site and then call when I receive the phone to cancel the "plan" since it's not a contract. He said I would not be charged anything.
I just put my order in for an upgrade. I am on at&t premier with an unlimited data and they let me 'keep my existing plan'. The phone was initially listed at $399.99, but was later updated to include a $100 instant rebate, bringing to $299. I ended up paying $355 after taxes and was notified it would be shipped Nov 6 with free 2 day shipping.
The problem is that if I order through Premier I get $25 back and free activation, so I am trying to figure out how to do it through Premier

This is how I did it: log into my att and then click upgrade and then it took me to the premier store and there it was. Only option for me was no commitment pricing and nothing ever prompted me about my data plan.
Did it this same way with the GSIII.
Preordered!
Just ordered mine also, my contract was up but I still went with the no commitment price and I will keep my unlimited plan... at least until I switch to prepaid.
I don't yet have an account so I get into the Premier store differently I guess

T Mobile is higher because they have cheaper rate plans. So the balance the plans with the cost of the phone. Or so they say.

This past summer, I preordered the GSIII through the premier store and renewed my contract at the same time. I was given the option to keep my 4G LTE unlimited data plan, so I did it. I wonder if they're still offering that now.

I was switching from a 3g unlimited plan and they let me switch to an LTE unlimited plan without issue. It just gives you the option for unlimited like any of the others. Just from what I have heard don't select a non unlimited plan unless you want to lose the unlimited forever.
You people freak out too much.
Of course ATT will let you keep your unlimited (throttled) plan when you upgrade or buy at no commitment pricing. If they didn't it would be all over the Internet.

Holy crap, I did not upgrade to LTE unlimited. Hopefully at&t CS lets me do that after the fact.

Nobody said the classic subsidized plans were eliminated completely. Walmart, Costco, Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers who carry Tmobile phone still have the old plans because retailers get a cut when they lock in customers for two years. But at Tmobile corporate stores and online at tmobile.com, only the new plans are offered. Tmobile is all about choice, which you don't have at Att, Verizon, or Sprint

They didnt get rid of contracts, they just now offer no contract plans.
I got the GS4 no contract and the monthly payment is $50 unlimited everything and $20 if you dont want them to slow down 4G after 500MB/month.
comes out to $70, next line would be $50 and every line after would be $30.
Comes out cheaper than that $79
I signed 2YR contract with tmobile and paid 150 for mine

Because the price without contract is actually better than with contract. Let me crunch the numbers -
With Contract from Costco: $200 for Galaxy S4 + $80/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $2,120 over the 2 year contact
Without Contract from T-Mobile.com: $630 for Galaxy S4 + $60/month for unlimited talk/text/2.5GB web = $ 2070 over 2 years period
The economics are even better if you bring a $300 Nexus 4 instead of purchasing a Galaxy S4. And if you are in a family plan, you're talking about over a thousand dollar in savings across multiple lines. BUT the biggest benefit is that after 2 years, you will pay $60/mo off contract no matter which phone you use, whereas under contract you'll still pay $80/mo long after you've technically paid off the subsidy.

Because you pay less when you bring your own phone. If you want contract there is the eip plan where you pay $20 more per month. On other carriers there is no option like this. Bottom line you pay only for service not for the device. In other carriers even if you bring your own device you still pay the same price as others with contract.

I just came from VZW.. 2 lines... The only one paying my ETF is me, TMO isn't obligated to pay your ETF, nor should they be. ETF isn't part of plans, it's part of the customer agreement, and I read somewhere about that being a nono anyways of one carrier paying another carrier's fees. If they got caught doing that, they (or the employee doing it), could get into some serious trouble.

There's no contract to cancel. Tmobile no longer has contracts. If you're buying from their website then you pay for the full retail price for the phone which is $703.99 plus tax and shipping. If you qualify for the installment plan, you can cancel service but you're still liable for paying off the remaining balance if the phone.

I assume it's the same as in-store. You must sign up for service and then can cancel it right away. You still end up paying the first month

Yes trade in the S4 with them and pay the difference, btw everyone qualifies with them just they make people with lower credit put more down on the phone which lowers the monthly cost and a possible deposit like 75 dollars but they return that after a year. If your just buying outright that doesn't affect you but yea trade it in and pay the difference either way.
ATT 16gb S4 they give you @200.00 and 32gb you get $220, you can look up the trade in value on their site, I dunno what you could sell for on Craigslist might be more or maybe you don't want the hassle.

Thinking about returning mine and telling them its faulty to avoid 50 dollar restocking fee, Then getting one from Craigs List for 500 big ones. If its faulty they wont charge me restocking right?

Yes I have. If you already paid the device, there aren't any fees whatsoever. And if you're talking about that fee, of course you have to pay for the phone. They're not going to let you get a free phone!
