I have only seen this on a few forums but I don't like to subscribe to everything I make a post to but it would be nice to have under quick links a "My Posts" link. All it does is link to a search with your username. It's nice for checking replies and would be a very useful feature for a lot of people. Right now I have to login, go to search, type my username in and hit search. I wish more places did it I find it extremely useful and it wouldn't be that hard to add.

There is another way. Go to your profile, select the tab 'STATISTICS' under which there's a link to all your posts. On opening a particular post will indirectly open the thread.
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");

Good idea.
I missed a feature like this already.
Then I used the "workaround" mentioned by anasdcool71, and subscribed to many threads.
But sometimes it would be easier, if there would be an option for any post to enable a notification for every reply to this post.
If you make the request in the (requests) From the Users to the Mods & Admins thread, it'll be able to be taken into consideration.

...if we could bookmark single posts, and not just threads on here?
For example, I open this post in a new tab, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15674362&postcount=37121
I wish I could bookmark it.
I know some forums have that, but I don't think XDA does, just subscribed threads.

I presume you don't mean browser bookmark?
Correct. I mean on the site, where I can go to my profile and along with my subscribed threads would be bookmarks.
SDX has this.
Great idea
I've had to dig through my post history to point six members in the direction of some instructions to put Android on the HD2 now.
Excellent idea, I have seen this already on another forum !
+1, i would say its a great idea.
1. The mobile app has a handy tab that lets you view all the threads you've 'participated' in whether you've subscribed or not. It would be nice if this existed for the desktop version of the site.
2. The mobile app does not have an easy to access tab for accessing subscribed threads. It would be nice if it had this feature.
Sorry if this is not the right plce ot post this.
To view subscribed threads on the app, click on the Favorites tab then click on Topics.
To make the suggestion for a participated section on the website, use the (requests) From Users to the Mods and Admins thread, but the request has been made before and the general response is just to auto-subscribe to threads you post in.

Strange that they blow off a feature that is so prominent in the app.
Thanks.

True, but when features get added that aren't really needed (because of the work around) that's when things can start going wrong.
Just like the report feature that used to be part of the app.

On your profile there is a link to "Find all posts by <you>". It links to http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?do=finduser&u=<your userid>. Click on that, it is exactly the same search that the "Find threads I participated in" uses.
I have a post on this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1714
It fell off the first page so, to find it, I entered my screen name into the 'search this forum' box. It returned nothing and brought me to an advance screen.
I then entered my user name into the search box on the advanced form labeled "SEARCH BY USER NAME".
Again, no results found.
Search isn't broken.Change the search term to something more general and try again...
POTATO!!!!
Right now, I keep seeing a cat reading a book when I try to search... :silly:

So when trying to find posts with my name in them, I should search for "General Synpax"? I was unaware of this promotion; I'm flattered.
The real problem is that the author field isn't included when the search is run, and it should be.
Really, why even bother having a site search functionality if it's going to be this bad. Just use Google.

You can search by author in Advanced Search.

This is by design - the vast majority of users want to search for keywords. If a user happens to share username with a keyword, they don't want to be inundated with their mindless musings in off topic...
If you want to find a post by a specific user, just hit the little cog for advanced search, where you can search based on username.
XDA has 4.6 million users, and 21 million posts, so search needs to be a little bit more specific to ensure that you can actually find things.
To find your own posts or threads, use the link to your own profile There's a button there to show all your posts and/or threads.

Thanks for your answer.
As a web developer myself, we recently had this same issue come up. We shifted all the search to Bing. This both got us better results and eliminated one target for a DDoS attack.
I tried searching earlier today for: Zenithink (the brand name of my tablet), and didn't get any hits. At the time of this post there did seem to be a problem with the search, but it seems to be working now.
k.
Also, keep in mind that search results can be delayed up to 10 minutes:

I'm not a forum noob by any stretch but all others I've been on over the years have some way to display all the threads I posted in, and mark them bold if they have an update I haven't seen yet.
I have yet to find this on xda and it's getting old, even after only a few days, to go from forum to forum and check for updates to any threads I contributed to. What am I missing?
ETA: I'm looking for something like "display all subscribed topics" in a shortcut form somewhere. I really don't want to have to do this through advanced searches. It kills the entire intent of getting a quick overview of updates.
I found the issue. Apparently contributing to a thread doesn't add that thread to your subscribed threads list. This is a (pita, very unfortunate) manual step you have to do per thread if you want to keep up with the thread. I'm very surprised it has to be this way, but so be it.
If anyone knows of a way to change this on a per-user level please let me know.

Change your settings to auto-subscribe to every thread you post in. That way if you post in one that you don't want to track you can just choose to unsubscribe from it.
Go to your User Control Panel. Under 'Settings & Options' select 'Edit Options'. Then look for the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" setting - I recommend you set it to "No email notification"

Above post is solution.. or if you want this in app.. you have latest tab in left most icon on top bar.. there select participated tab which is third one.. you can see all the threads you have posted and bold will appear on threads having unread posts for you.

Right. I noticed the app has it but it's harder to do in the forum lol
I got it folks. Thanks. The only thing I would wish for is a one-click shortcut to my subscribed threads. But I have bookmarks for that

If you want to view your subscribed threads and forums using the app then click the "Favorites" tab and you'll be able to view them.
Apologies if I misunderstood your problem.

If you want to see all of your participated threads in the browser view, go to the Advanced search, enter your username, make sure "Search All Open Forums" is selected under Search in Forums, leave everything else alone. Your results are displayed as threads in chronological order of last reply to that thread. The last reply of any member, not just you.
I did search, and nothing came up.
I checked the xda FAQ, but it seemed to be more about phones than actual forum questions..
So here goes, dont flame me if I didnt search enough, I did search.
Where is the option to see my posts? And then go to the thread and my last post in that thread to continue reading?
I searched Control Panel (which seems to be the only thing avaliable that pertains to my user) with magnifying glass.
Could not find.
I feel really stupid and sorry to ask such a noob question.
- Go to your own profile page (click on the user name in the upper right)
- Click the Statistics tab
- Click "find all posts by aliendna99"
Moved to About XDA section.
You can also go to the advanced search and then "Search by user name". It will then show your posts.

It would be good to have this as a direct link for example in 'Quick links' or near the username in the upper right (where 'Control Panel' and 'Log Out' are).
Yeah it could be great
And is it possible to have a "View my posts" link for having a follow up of threads where we participated without subscription. If an answer has been posted the thread is at the top of the list.
I'm on a french forum and this feature is very useful.
Thank you.

If you want to view all of your participated threads that way, you will need to use the Advanced Search, put your name in the User Name box, then make sure the Search in Forums selection is set to All Open Forums. Leave everything else on defaults. All your participated threads will be shown with the newest replied thread at the top.
Thank you,
