Hi forum,
I know this is not teh right place for this toppic, but as I am new to this forum i can not post on a development forum before I have 10 posts.
Ok here is my issue I have.
Last week I have installed the CM9 alpha8 on my I8150.
Since then I am facing the issue that the bettery is not lasting more then 17 to 18 hours. When I check the power statistics I see that the baseband-standby takes more then 42% of the entire battery. This looks a bit strange for me. With the stockrom i was able to have my phone with me for allmost 4 to 5 days without recharging, now I have to charge it every single day with the same usage.
Is there anyone who can help me?
The basebank I am using is the XXLMB
Thanks already,
Dominik
I think this is, development forum is for ROMs and stuffs that are flashable. I'm not so sure about what is causing ICS ROM to have a shorter battery span. The last time i use it, i lasted 2 days. Since what you are doing on an ICS ROM uses so much battery, why not try a GB ROM instead? It definitely has much more juice than ICS ROMs.
I'm surprised that the stock rom can last 4 to 5 days...

Hi, just wondering if someone can tell me which ROM is best for battery life. I'm currently using blendkernel, is there any particular combination of kernel/ROM/baseband etc, not fussed about overclocking, just purely want it to last!!
Thanks
From my personal experience, the stock rom is the best for battery life, though I've switched to using arconium since it's just a tweaked version of the stock rom.
There's a few out there (that are just a tweaked version of the stock rom), so take a look in the development section and find one you like.
Using the stock kernel sometimes makes a difference as well (it did for me) so you might want to try that as well.
For me, using blendkernel, the ROM that optimizes battery and is 100% operational, is 【ROM】【LT15I/18I】Xperia_AniKing_v1.0.0_Ice Cream
for me till now i used only one room it's MIUI and till now it's fine
Ok, thanks for that, I'm going to give the Aniking ROM a go and see what happens...

Can the blendkernel (original for MIUI) be used for any other ROM? Like stock ROMs or even CM7?
I always thought that blendkernel can be only used for MIUI based ROMs....
I'm using the kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Seems to work fine with most ROMs and I've found the battery to be much better than using Doomkernel...
Hi,
Just a few days ago I've installed the Miui rom on my lt15i as posted on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528924 with the 2.6.32.9-BlendMIUI kernel by Jason Stein. However in these few days my phone has to be charged every night after being unplugged for about 20 hours.
Today in 16.5 hours my battery has dropped from 100% to 15%. Most of the time the phone is in sleep mode and I've measured that the battery drained about 3-4% per hour while in sleep mode. The phone synch with 2 google accounts in the background and the screen brightness is set to 25%.
For the rest I've made a few short phone calls (about 10 minutes of total talk time), browse the internet for like 15 minutes on the internet forums and played about 10 minutes of Coindozer.
Is this kind of battery life normal when running the MIUI rom on the BlendMIUI Kernel? In "Battery use" in "Battery settings" I got these stats:
Cell standby: 42%
Voice calls: 21%
Phone idle: 10
Display: 9%
Wlan: 5 %
Opera Mobile: 4%
Android OS: 4%
The rest are just about 1-2%
Seems like I'm better off with the stock rom as most of the time I can get about 30 hours using the phone before having to put it on charger. Now I can only get about 20 hours
Anyway I would be happy if anyone can give me advise how to get more battery life out of my phone while using the Miui Rom, cause it's working quite neat in my opinion and looks very polished.
Regards,
Albert

You can try to undervolt cpu supply if your kernel supports this feature.
Also try to flash baseband libs (only for -36 and -64).
I prefer the stock based roms.. I personally like the XperiaMod but I have been using Arconium 8.0 from last 4 days and its battery drain is just awesome!
If u wanna have an ICS one, simply flash the KA 10 Ice Cream Sony.. Simply the most stable and best ICS rom till date!!
Hit Thanks if I helped u..
I recommend Arconium 8.0. It is basically the rom your phone came with, but it's a tweaked version of it.
I also found Miui battery friendly. I've been using DiMiui for a couple of weeks now, and I can't complain.

Well, I just got hinted that it is possible my battery needs to be recalibrated. Last time I flashed my rom, my battery was not fully charged. I've looked up on internet and indeed some articles states that everytime you flash your rom your battery have to be fully charged to avoid this kind of trouble. I'll try recalibarting my battery.

I loved all ICS custom roms I tested (all of them, I think)... but they are really poor in one aspect: the battery life. It's awful... 50% in 3 hours or less with average use. Is there any solution for that? Which one do you guys use? Thanks
I'm using IceLite by zdzihu on my LT15 and my battery performance is great.
I think that some baseband's are better than others for battery, also, I've added this to my build.prop file:
ro.semc.enable.fast_dormancy=false

There's a bug in ICS beta that drains batttery with wifi off, though it doesn't seem to be present in Z's icelite.

It's in all of them, but it's intermittent.
Some days things would be great, then all of a sudden it would start draining the battery like crazy.
Some people never suffer it, but that does not mean the bug is not there, just that they aren't doing whatever is needed to trigger it.
I'm using Z's ICElite and i have the best battery life i ever had. it's even better than on gb arconium. I'm loosing about 1% per hour on idle. Ok the first time i flashed icelite my whole battery was dead in 7 hours and android os drains 80%(!!!) After two times of complete charging my phone android os drains only 18% and I think this will get even better after charging a few more times
So it seems that Icelite is the the best one for some time... I don't really like that rom's style, but i'll give it a try. I believe that when the official ICS is released, they'll fix this, and also will fix the weak wi-fi bug

Seriously???
Did you forget android most best feature....All is customization question.
I'm personally taking android only with "froyo, eclair, gingerbread, ics" like my phone Engine. All other is changeable.

Same here. I'm using IceLite on my LT15 and the battery performance was great at first, but drains an average 5% per hour on flightmode. (I use flightmode at night, because I need the alarm clock)
ICS Beta ROM in Xperia ARC S
I have installed the ICS Beta ROM in Xperia ARC S.
Why does empty the battery so fast? background process limit cannot be set, it remains at all times the standard limit.
stop nagging about it because it is beta for a test, not for daily rom, wait for a stable release by se,maybe all the issues gone
from the ARC
The only battery drain is linked to the wifi module.
The only solution I found is not using wifi. If I have to use wifi, I reboot the phone after I disable it.
There's no wifi driver in official beta. This driver is not even a beta one and has not been validated by Sony.
There is no battery drain in ICS 4.0.3 either (unlike some says).
Currently, my battery last between 4 and 5 days without data activated (just a few calls and sms). It lasts 2.5 days with moderate data usage (an average of 15 hours with data and sync activated).

Because there ****.
So, I seem to be having major issues with my Galaxy Nexus battery.
I got the phone some time last October (2012).
Here are the battery specs I captured a few minutes ago with 4% battery remaining.
The second picture is the 'About Phone' section. I'm on Android 4.1.1
It is the Stock OS, no ROM, but I did Root some time ago.
Any recommendations on what I could do? Should I just flash the stock OS?
This is really irritating, because I can't go through a single day without having to charge two times.
I used to have a Captivate and I have used ROMs on it in the past (TeamHackSung, Cyanogen) and I've tried different Kernels.
Do you think I might have a lemon battery?
Greetings, its been a while since ive visited the forums, but i did a bit of searching and didnt find anything. I upgraded to CM10.1 a couple of weeks ago and have been having terrible battery life compared to CM10. At first i figured it might be just a new rom (i had to do a full wipe before everything started working normally) and the battery had to normalize. But no, its been 2 weeks or so and 3 updates and the same crappy battery life. I looked at the battery usage and this is from today, but it was the same last friday when i started looking at it.
I can believe 15 mins, or 20 mins of screen time. Not 45. Ive been at work... working. So i dont know, maybe its a bug, but im barely making a work day without having to plug the phone in. Can anyone help out?
Try a new kernel. 10.1 is a bit of a battery killer. All stock-like ROMs are. I use LeanKernel, but I don't believe he utilizes your s2. Try ktoonsez?

as title say i need a long battery life rom..
i don't know if my battery is died or is a rom problem, but it can't last more than 50 minutes while using my phone.
So please, give me a link to the best long battery life rom, don't really matter if GB,ICS or other thanks in advance guys
Only 50 minutes? I don't think that is normal. I don't think either it's a problem with a rom. even if you play a lot and on the internet the total time should be more than 50 minutes I believe. I think your battery just died. And if that is the case, not even a rom with a thousands tweaks will get more time than you already have

yea mate.. but i want to try another rome before buying anything..
Arcos CM9 RC2 or RC3 with it´s 2.6.35 kernel is still the best ROM for battery life. The older Slimbeam ROM with the same kernel is told to be as good as Arcos ones. Finally you can also use a customized 2.6.35 kernel with undervolting options to extend your battery life, but like ilusi0n already said there is something wrong with your phone or battery if it only lasts for 50 minutes. My battery lasts for 3-5 days under normal use.
