Thats equivelent to imovie on the iphone. Imovie has been out for the iphone for years now and even the original still blows any video editor on the google playstore. I swear, the first dev that makes a decent one will make millions. There is a demand for it.
Any recomendations?
AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod & AOKP come with a great movie editor, named "Movie Studio". Lets you do all you really would want to do on a phone, such as adding a bunch of small vids to the timeline, cross-fading transitions, and audio track overlay. For anything more than that you should be using a full-fledged NLE app on your desktop (Sony Vegas, Premiere, or whatever).
Here's the first review of Movie Studio I GoogledForYou...
I've used it quite a few times to consolidate a bunch of small videos into a single one. Though, it has crashed on me a few times too with too many 1080p clips & transitions...

I didn't think iMovie mobile was that great, but then again all the editing i did on my phone was very basic, so it got me cover, I use AndroVid Pro, which allow me to do everything I did on iMovie.

Andro is very slow and it requires you to render the video in order to view it....which takes way to long....plus it crashes a ton on larger files.

I found an apk to instal, but its crashes on 1080p videos just like you said. Is there an updated version that can handle them, because the app it self looks great.

Dunno.
Just looked at logcat to see why my Movie Studio video exports were failing, and it looks to be qcom-specific encoder bug, and as fate would have it, there's a bunch of libstagefight bugfixes in CM10's next nightly (9/13) changelog that might fix it.

Hello, any news on this one, does it work on cm10 ?
As the rest of the thread states, it is included in CM10, and is, apparently (by my own very cursory check), working fine.
Granted I know nothing about iMovie, but I use both "Photo Editor" and "Video Editor" from Samsung. They are decent apps - nothing great but good for simple edits on the go.
The biggest annoyance is that you have to install Samsung Apps and sideload them onto your device. They're free though, so I guess it's worth the one time effort!

Hi all,
i read many thread on that but nothing really clear so...
All you need is an unlocked wp7 device with some register editor or provxml, Schaps's advanced conf seems to deal with it too (i prefer typing my registry modifs).
I suggest trying to listen a real stereo with 48000hz sample rate...have to be a professional musician to hear differences when setting that rate higher.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings
BitPool : Dword = 51
UseJointStereo : Dword = 0
------------------------------------
(what's next could be linked with the kind of BTheadphone u use)
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\........\Services\..........(then u should see u're in stereo sound settings)
enabled : Dword = 1
------------------------------------
I tried many others entries and those are the most stable. No cliks, bips, stops or distortions...sound is wide and heavy as it should be, if not, try some others headphones.
While the audio quality is fine (Quite a bit better with your tweek for sure), do you notice a lag in the audio when viewing video on your device? On my Newly flashed Arrive, it is a noticible lag that sort of destroys the viewing experience.
the lag appears when watching a video with audio over bluetooth or just simply watching a video (audio over device's speaker)?
I won't help you very much because i don't watch videos on my phone...
sometimes i open a youtube link to see a clip but never noticed any issues.
Only when having a video's audio go through Bluetooth. There has never been a lag with the speaker.
Tinkering with some settings and taking a few notes from some old WM 5-6.1 threads which share the exact same reg entries has made the audio sound great, but I'm not sure if the lag is gone or not yet. Some YouTube videos seem to be in sync, others not so much. Netflix is my prime concern as well but I need to test it a bit more before I can say for sure.
Depreciated -------- posted Sept-14-2012:
A2DP fix for media: Currently CM10(CyanogenMod JB) based builds the Bluetooth device works just to stream audio to make calls but it doesn't work when streaming media(Pandora, PowerAmp Music player)
Looks like sample rate is missing in the at a2dp line in the "audio_policy.conf"(/etc) line "sampling_rates 48000" and the 44100 needs to added before the 48000 with this "|" symbol and it should look like this "sampling_rates 44100|48000".:good:
After changing the sampling rate reboot your device in order for it to take effect.
Edit file with root explorer text editor.
Before:
sampling_rates 48000
After:
sampling_rates 44100
The fix is for Hercules/Skyrocket CMX based builds:
- CM10
- CM10-ParanoidAndroid
- AOKP JB

Edit Sept-19-2012 11:04pm: Fix has been implemented by CyanogenMod, it looks like the 48000 sampling rate is not required. I've tested it too and all audio works(with just 44100) except during calls and plays the audio on earpiece of the phone/device instead of streaming it to BT earphones. See Post by budjb.
××× Workaround ×××
I notice that during a call if you turn OFF the Bluetooth earphone while connected to your device(phone) then turn ON the BT earphone it'll connect and also stream the phone call to BT earphone. :screwy:
budjb said:
I can confirm that bluetooth audio and calls work on the sept 13th build. By default, that build's audio_policy.conf has a2dp's sampling rate set to 48000, which does not work, however changing the rate to 44100 allows both audio streaming and calls to work. Having both rates (44100|48000) does not work, it has to be only 44100.
This exact same config that works on the 13th does not work on the 17th or 18th builds. On those builds, I can get audio streaming to work but not calls over bluetooth. On those builds, calls will only play through the phone's speaker with the sampling rate set only to 44100. When I add 48000, audio streaming still works, and calls no longer play out of the phone's speaker while bluetooth is connected, however, the stream to the bluetooth device is completely silent.
So looks like something broke between the 13th build and anything after. Hope this helps, and hope you can fix it!

[URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_rate"]Info about sampling rates:[/URL]
[B]44,100 Hz[/B] Audio CD, also most commonly used with MPEG-1 audio (VCD, SVCD, MP3). Originally chosen by Sony because it could be recorded on modified video equipment running at either 25 frames per second (PAL) or 30 frame/s (using an NTSC monochrome video recorder) and cover the 20*kHz bandwidth thought necessary to match professional analog recording equipment of the time. A PCM adaptor would fit digital audio samples into the analog video channel of, for example, PAL video tapes using 588 lines by 3 samples by 25 frames per second. Much pro audio gear uses (or is able to select) 44.1*kHz sampling, including mixers, EQs, compressors, reverb, crossovers, recording devices and CD-quality encrypted wireless microphones.
[B]48,000 Hz[/B] The standard audio sampling rate used by professional digital video equipment such as tape recorders, video servers, vision mixers and so on. This rate was chosen because it could deliver a 22*kHz frequency response and work with 29.97 frames per second NTSC video - as well as 25 frame/s, 30 frame/s and 24 frame/s systems. With 29.97 frame/s systems it is necessary to handle 1601.6 audio samples per frame delivering an integer number of audio samples only every fifth video frame.[6] Also used for sound with consumer video formats like DV, digital TV, DVD, and films. The professional Serial Digital Interface (SDI) and High-definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) used to connect broadcast television equipment together uses this audio sampling frequency. Much professional audio gear uses (or is able to select) 48*kHz sampling, including mixers, EQs, compressors, reverb, crossovers and recording devices such as DAT.

Assuming you have already rooted your device, use a file explorer app like ES File Explorer. Allow it to access root files and folders and then navigate to the /etc folder and look for the "audio_policy.conf" file. Then use your text editor of choice (ES File Explorer has one built-in) to make the correction as illustrated.

Hi a quick question if you don't mind. What ROM were you using when you fixed the BT issue? According to budjb Sept 13 build worked fine and none worked after Sept 13, but I am running Superheavy ROM which says its build on Sept 14. So a bit confused just wanted to know which ROM you used when you fixed the issue? Sorry if it is a stupid question I am a newbie trying to learn.

I didn't fixed the BT issue I simply found a fix(correct sampling rate) and the Superheavy ROM might of been compile on Sept 13th. Who's it made by?
I've tried different ROMs, I was using/used gs2usr's CM10 PA, erickwill's Unofficial CM10 and whitehawx's AOKP jb I believe it affected all builds made for Skyrocket & Hercules.
But the builds/compiles after 17th or 19th+ it had the correct sampling rate from the Cyanogen source and this time its the other way around call audio won't stream to BT devices but music does stream to BT devices.

Ok thanks for your reply. My ROM is by vincom I think. I applied the fix but it didn't work. I might go back to Cyanogen 9.1 stable version, because even official samsung release ICS gave me issues like after 10 hours I see the time will be one hour less or I get unexpected reboot. I liked this super heavy ROM but BT calling is important to me. Anyways thanks for all the help.

Well, I have read stuff about the Nexus 5x saving upside down images/vids with 3rd party apps that didn't use API correctly, but today I saved a video, which looks OK on the device, but when I send it to the PC.. it is upside down.
Is this common? it has any fix? can I fix the vid somehow?
If this happens to the stock camera... what the **** Google..
I've read somewhere that it's normal, the sensor it's upside-down so it puts a flags for apps to turn it around.. the problem is that I tested any program on Windows (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, VLC, WMP, etc..) and ALL of them show the video upside-down...

Hmm, I downloaded the last version from hpc hc yesterday and it was still upside down. What is that madvr render stuff? Some sort of plugin? This is interesting because if this works im keeping the n5x, if not im returning it (because I want the video reproduced well on pc)
Thanks!
No special settings. Just set madVR as default renderer and launch video by double-click. At least it working in my rig with external GPU. Here is also the feature request in mpc hc trac: https://trac.mpc-hc.org/ticket/2202.
How has google/LG not come up with a better fix for this? Two of my apps that use the camera (Stampt and Chase Mobile Banking) show the video upside down. It is extremely annoying. I realize that the app *should* be updated to the latest API, but if you make upside down hardware YOU should be the one to fix it, not force everyone else to conform.

Works! Thanks a lot!!!! Too bad madVR lags some the video reproduction (specially when returning from full screen) , I don't know why I have to move to such thing just for this device. I hope MPC-HC adopts it soon!!

Google. They didn't even use the API how they say on most of their apps. Google is the enemy of nexus lately.
Another option in MPC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) besides MadVR is to rotate the video while playing. Use the following the shortcuts (alt + numpad 3) twice to rotate to 180 degrees as shown in my attached image.
I know it's a pain but this is a workaround for now at least. Along with MadVR.

Not yet. SELinux works by blocking access to different components to your phone (e.g. access to the camera) unless we specify otherwise in sepolicies. We haven't built those yet so the experience will be completely broken as all functions (including basic ones like turning on the screen once it has been locked) will be blocked and therefore won't work

Not yet. SELinux works by blocking access to different components to your phone (e.g. access to the camera) unless we specify otherwise in sepolicies. We haven't built those yet so the experience will be completely broken as all functions (including basic ones like turning on the screen once it has been locked) will be blocked and therefore won't work

I found that the stock camera for lineage works fine for video if the resolution is changed to 720p. Not sure if it was noted before.

Thanks for checking it out - 1080p is also working for me - only UHD 4K is not working.
So I installed this on my phone. Installation itself went well - I wiped everything and formatted data, then flashed LOS, GApps, and Magisk.
Some issues I've run into so far:
1. Cannot connect to my 5GHz AC WiFi. (The 2GHz Wireless-N network connects fine - Edit: Seems to be AC-Only mode that is the problem. If I set it to AC/N Mix or N-Only it connects fine.)
Code:
06-21 01:57:45.295 5273 5273 I wpa_supplicant: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-ASSOC-REJECT bssid=b0:7f:b9:9c:90:48 status_code=18
06-21 01:57:45.296 5273 5273 I wpa_supplicant: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED id=0 ssid="My WiFi SSID"
auth_failures=1 duration=10 reason=CONN_FAILED
06-21 01:57:45.425 990 7124 I WifiService: getWifiEnabledState uid=1000
06-21 01:57:45.434 990 5121 I WifiService: getConfiguredNetworks uid=1000
06-21 01:57:45.452 990 2081 D WifiStateMachine: Assocation Rejection event: bssid=b0:7f:b9:9c:90:48 reason code=18 ti
medOut=false
This worked fine in AOSCP Nougat. It's still possible this is just a problem on my end - I will keep messing with it.
2. GCams so far all seem to crash immediately once I've granted permissions. (Tried GCMod5, Pixel2Mod, and Snapdragon Camera)
3a. Video recording with the included camera does work, but framerate is pretty poor at 1080p. It's better at 720p, but not perfect.
3b. OpenCamera cannot record if I enable Camera2 API still, and seems to perform about as well as the included camera if I disable it.
3c. Cinema FV-5 does nothing when I tap the Record button, even with Compatibility mode enabled
It's an improvement that the included camera app can record video, but a step backwards that GCams all seem to crash immediately now. They were never all that stable in Nougat, but better than this.
4. HD video playback still has issues. I've tried this in YouTube and Twitch so far.
- 480p or below works fine
- 720p (30fps) seems to work ok
- 1080p (30fps) stutters a little bit but overall seems to be ok too now
- 1440p (30fps) stutters a lot, slow playback rate.
- 720p (60fps) video plays then freezes, then plays, then freezes, repeat
- 1080p (60fps) video freezes and largely does not play at all.
Audio is always fine, it's just video that has issues.
Video Playback's not perfect yet, but it's an improvement over my experience on AOSCP Nougat
I have yet to attempt any calling, bluetooth, or GPS. I'll update this post as I do more things. I have not installed Greenify or Amplify yet - I want to see how battery life is without anything like that initially.
Otherwise so far so good. Thank you to everyone for your efforts on this! I never imagined my G4 would ever go beyond rooted LP or unrooted MM, much less be on LOS Oreo. Please let me know if there is anything in particular I can provide to help troubleshoot.
Update 1:
- No ability to edit my APNs. The default ones from my SIM were detected and work, but I don't have the option to add new ones.

doing a crash log may help:
Code:
adb shell
su
logcat -b all -c (will clear the log)
[I]now: let cam crash[/I]
logcat -d -b all > /cache/camcrash.txt
adb pull /cache/camcrash.txt
paste that camcrash.txt to http://bpaste.net
consider to do the same for your WiFi issue..

whats your bootloader firmware version and first 3 digits of your device serial @bdasmith and @vsTerminus ?
device serial:
the sticker behind the battery
bootloader stack firmware:
easiest is to grab it from your SALT backup before UsU has been flashed. described here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76861239&postcount=1122
only valid if you havent upgraded/downgraded the bootloader stack after the SALT backup ofc..

Also, I sent you a PM with the logs you requested.
@vsTerminus; @bdasmith; @steadfasterX:
I was on the V20X from Fido/Rogers as well but ...
- Have had no issues at all connecting to 5.0 GHz. WIFI
- Video recording in 1080p with the stock camera app does not seem to present any issues for me on my phone and the recorded videos play well.
- Cinema FV5 video recording is still working extremely well for me with legacy camera driver and the recorded videos play very well.
- I too have experienced problems with all but one of many modded Google cam apps I have tested - camera either closes immediately after allowing permissions or if loads presents a black screen, crashes on video app switch etc. I have put this down at least partially that a lot of these mods are prepared on or for different phones and may be using the blobs from their originally stalled camera apps.
- 1080p and UHD 4K videos are playing very well in YouTube on my phone.
Note: Experiencing as of the June 19th H812 build, much better sim card recognition now - as good as I had on AOSCP N it seems - not getting anywhere so far the failure to load or the complete drop-offs I was experiencing on the previous H811 build I had installed.

What is the Wireless Network Mode set to? Mine will connect if I set it to "N-Only" or "AC/N-Mixed", but it will not connect if I set it to "AC-Only".
Do me a favor and try setting it to AC-Only and try again?

Cinema FV-5 is working for me now, but it performs about as well as the included camera app does.
Put the camera on Video mode but don't start recording. Pan across the room, reasonably quickly. Pay attention to how smooth it looks.
Now hit record and do exactly the same thing. Is it just as smooth? Mine is not. It gets choppy while recording, but is nice and smooth once I stop.

The only thing is, I know some of these camera mods worked on AOSCP Nougat. They weren't the most stable apps in the world, but at least I could load them up and take a few pictures. Now I can't get the apps to even open.

What about a 1080p 60fps video? Mine seems to work fine up to 1080p as long as it's only a 30fps video.
If you need help finding something in 1080p60, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KNwl8nvMvQ
In the YouTube app if you tap the screen while the video is playing you'll get the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner. From there you can go to Quality and choose "1080p60". Skip ahead in the video to force it to switch quality levels, and let me know how your video plays then.
I don't doubt you, I just want to make sure we're trying the same things here. Thanks!

Set to A-Only - don't have AC. Problem may reside with C perhaps.

Most of the one's I tested were on ASOCP N, same issues - tested three so far on O and all closed immediately after allowing permissions.

Here's the thing ... I had problems with your recording in 1080p 60fps. I tried another one Battlefield 1 PS4 Gameplay (1080p 60fps) and guess what, played flawlessly - confirmed it was playing in 1080p 60fps. As I have stated to you before, I believe it depends in large part on the quality of the uploaded video recording ...

You would notice it more when panning a bit faster. I'm not saying shake the phone around violently or anything, but mine is visibly choppy even with slow panning.

Most issues I believe may be related to buffering problems with longer playing videos. I don't have issues with shorter plays but they seem to arise with longer plays from the number I have tested now.

Ok I guess @bdasmith you have a serial lower then 700 ?
I see problems always on 7xx devices and not on 6xx and 5xx devices.
We already saw that LG changed something in newer product lines due to issues with the camera ( aoscp thread a while ago) so I guess that makes the difference..

Well....i opened her up my serial number is 708...etc
Not sure if that helps or not lol.
Is there a way to get bootloader version read from an app of some sort?
From now on i jave to be very vwry careful with what i do. The drive i had my salt backup on died and is unrecoverable! Yikes

Yes...i noticed lag on some videos when played in 1080p 60fps
And some others played just fine. It did seem to be shorter ones that played okay for me as well.
Edit: i take that back. All 1080p 60fps lag and audio out of sync. Sorry @vsTerminus

Hi guys
I don't know if already exists some specific thread to talk about this.
Last week I recorded some live songs in Italy, in the concert Roger Waters kept inside Lucca wall.
I recorded in VIDEO MANUAL MODE, so I flag HDR10 video and 24bit HIFI audio mode.
Really good live recording, considering we are speaking about a mobile phone.
How to extract the audio track, beeing sure to extract the "raw" audio track and put it in some container that I can reproduce on my high quality player?
Thank you!
Ciao!
While I'm not sure if the artist would appreciate this, I suppose if you don't reproduce it / distribute it it'd be fine.
In either case, try using a program like Goldwave. It's a great, lightweight yet powerful, free audio editing software. You should be able to import the video file and it'll isolate the audio track from it in it's original form. From there you can save it using any codec you like including FLAC.

I'm not sure I've understood the purpose of your words....no reflex camera for photo purpose or any other object, nothing of nothing were allowed and in fact nobody had any professional camera....but the phone were allowed and THOUSANDS of mobile phones (like mine) were raised above our heads to capture the event.......

What I meant was, sometimes artists don't appreciate when you record their live performances and host it online or share it or sell it, etc. I suppose if you are only creating an audio track for your personal enjoyment, then it shouldn't be an issue. People are allowed in concert venues and whatnot with phones because you can't take them away. What if there's an emergency? How would you enforce removing phones from the entire audience? Just not plausible.
Anyways, it doesn't matter. Did you try Goldwave?
