Request S-Off method/ changing CID
I understand one has to S-Off the HTC One V to be able to change CID. A few weeks ago there were posts on the internet (not on xda) about it but they all seem to have disappeared. I'd very much love to be able to find a way to change CID as I'm stuck with Arabic/ Middle East RUUs which are hard to find, and have if I change language to English, I get a very strange mix. anyhow if you've seen a method of turning S-Off, I'll appreciate if you can post here.
As of the moment there is no way to "S-Off" our One V.

Okay have you saved somewhere or written down the software version that was installed on your device before you installed a custom rom.
For example are you unbranded or Orange, Telus, T-mobile, Vodafone , etc.
and besides.. use the search function.. there's many threads and tutorials about rerooting.

My hdh from uk with cid=htc__001 i downgrad it from 2.3 to 2.1 and install arabic rom 2.42.415.1 ruu exe file .
So that I can not get the new update so I download the update file for this rom from internet and but it on the sd card and I get this error from the recovery your cid is 11111111 and this update need htc__j15. So that I use some adb instruction to change my cid to
htc__j15But it give me an error .
But the app from market cid getter tell me that your cid is htc__001 but when update tell me that your cid is 11111111 .and adb instruction tell me that your cid is 11111111.
How is that? What shall I do

Please post in the appropriate section that is q and a section
Posting in the wrong section will not help you
The device must be s-off. Change the cid of the device to HTC__J15.

Phone will report original CID while booted up, but could still be SuperCID. Find somebody with PD98DIAG files and you can full SuperCID your phone.

but most of you know that moment when 2-3 times per weeks a new dev-thread appears, you read it and recognize that it's only a question and not even dev related, so sorry to the OP for my frustrated reaction,

When I try to flash the RUU's that I've got..
They always show Bootloader error 140..
I know that this problem is there because already a newer bootloader version is there on my phone. But still is there anyway to overcome this problem?
I'm currently on myONEv 5 fx (De Sensed).
And I had to ask one more thing!
I've got One V with Bootloader unlocked, rooted & Custom ROM installed!
If, by chance HARD BRICK occurs will HTC repair my phone for free? (As my phone's 1 yr warranty has not ended)

I've already checked this, I need a Indian specific RUU (Software version must be ateast 2.22), I'm asking for atleast 2.22 becasue I've tried the Indian RUU 1.56 which shows bootloader error 140.
