I recently downloaded the full apk zip from the SGS3...S-voice and the works. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to the build.prop on the camera app to let it function properly on the GNex. Currently it will not even install. I am ignorant to the ways of build.prop and apk signatures as well as how they interface with hardware.
I realize it is a long-shot considering I have looked all over for it and nobody has it yet. I just think it would be fun to have.

^ Rats! Well maybe some day it will happen.
Thanks for the link Chopper.

do u have the monopoly apk u can put up
The screen share and wifi calling apps. Work. The mytouch 4g only has game demos though so don't port them.
edit:when i say wifi calling,. i mean video chat
so basically, the only thing worth grabbing off the mytouch rom is screen share and video chat. The games are all demos.
any1 get the FM radio to work? i think its part of the sense framework.
there are some other apps that may be worth getting if you really wanted them. possibly the my modes? it allows you to set to different modes and your phone will act differently. Example...kids mode. turns off calling and messaging, maybe some other stuff.
i saw the media hub in a video demo. seems cool to have music and video on the same screen as oppose to gallery/music apps. didnt try it though. i am not sure what the package name is.
I wanted the email widget... But sadly it doesnt work on my G2. That is the only think I really like about the sense UI.
It would be amazing if somebody could get the flashlight app to work, I love how it has 3 brightness settings like the HD2.

I tried to upload but it says the file is too large. It's just a trial, though...and it's 18mb.

yes... most of the stuff on the mytouch is pretty built into the sense framework and i'm not about to try to port them. if it dont install and play, its beyond me.

i saw the flashlight app but didnt think anything of it. i will see in 2 seconds if it is build into the sense framework (i think thats the obex files that follow some of the apks).
when looking at the apps, flashlight has an apk and a obex file so i think its sense based. sorry dude.
Yeah dude sorry, I should have said I already tried it. I just have no idea about the whole process of de-odexing and all that fun stuff
Sent from my T-Mobile G2
so, i opted to go thru the whole contents of apps and see what i could find. i skipped everything that was obex. my finds are as follows....
the Faves app works fine. though i didnt give it a full test fun.
the faves widget does not seem to work. it will not install as is.
theres a bunch of themes that end with apk. Examples: graffiti.apk, ruby.apk
Interestingly enough, the wifi calling app is called MS-HTCVISION-KNT20-0.
i tried to get the media room app to work but it FCs.
would some1 else like to install media room/ check log why it FC's?
EDIT: seriously can find the FC on a log. and i can read a log for the most part. AND BTW, the faves app isnt worth having. not in my opinion.
EDIT2: rather than take up another post, lemme ask on this one. any1 know more about the rockband apk and why i cant find it on the interwebz? the 1 from mytouch is demo.
did you try any of the themes?

It works, I've been using the flashlight.apk on my Vibrant for 3 weeks now. It won't install, I used root explorer to place it in system/app
where can we get the mt4g dump? or can any one post some of the apks?
i want to get the screen sharing as well as picking up some demos..

I to wanted the dump just for the screen share app but every dump I found in thee mt4g forums wouldn't. Extract. So I found a mt4g rom port in the nexus. Forums download that and it hast the screen share app. Its called twonky mobile. Its kind of pointless tho. U have to connect to a network then use ur tv's or computers to stream the what u wanna watch. Witch I think is pointles cus its was quicker hookin ur usb cord. From ur phone to computer or xbox and just watch them off ur sd. And its a little hard to set up if ur not familiar with dlna and the software. The directions prrovided in the app suck.
Edit: I wouldn't nessisarily call it screen share more like streaming media. Wouldnt work with games. So no wiimot and psx
Hi All, I originally had a SGSII and then sold it and changed to the Galaxy Nexus just before Christmas. Now the one thing I absolutely miss is the brilliant Stock Alarm clock, which had the options to do pre-alarms and other stuff and basically just worked and even managed to wake me up which most dont seem to do that well.
Does anyone have the apk that they could point me to as would love to see if it works in my new phone.
Thanks in advance,
GD
Just wondering if there is a way I can extract it if I download a copy of the stock ROM? I'll pop it up somewhere for others once I get it out since I've spotted a number of posts asking for the same apk.
Its good to share
GD
Hello
I was searching for the exact same thing, cause i have the exact same problem! Did you find a way to do it?
I download one other alarm app but i dont like that solution, id rather have a native alarm clock with that integration, pehaps can't we notify android team to put it as a upgrade? Also, the app ive downloaded doesnt bring me the same experience i had with gs2's alarm... I have trouble trying to waking up but that alarm clock seems to resolve it..
Please keep us informed!

Hi vpena, glad its not just me
I've not had the chance yet to work out if there is a way to pull it from a stock rom, but will have time probably Friday to do the leg work. If I get anywhere I'll be sure to post it here for others to benefit from.
GD
Here it is, ripped from the ICS leak. I bet it won't work on a GNexus, since it probably relies on the TW-Framework.
Don't install through ClockWorkMod or open the apk on your phone, the zip file contains an apk which you should push to the system/app folder. You should probably know that already though.

Thank you! Using it on Spike's awesome ICS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1451346.
Thanks xethor, I'll give it a shot anyway as there is no harm in trying.... I looked at Gentle Alarm but it was just too much of a faff and over complicated for what I want....
Cheers, GD
Unsurprisingly it didn't work, but do appreciate people getting involved and hopefully someone will benefit from having the apk.
Cheers, GD
Hi guys
I originally asked this in the Q&A section a week ago, but I wasn't sure if it belong here in the apps section instead. Since I didn't get any replies, I'm thinking maybe I should have posted it here to begin with. I hope someone in this section might be able to help.
If I'm not supposed to put this in two areas, I apologize. I'm not too forum saavy; just looking for help for my issue.
Thanks a lot guys
--- Original post ---
Hi everyone! This is my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right. I'm not sure if this should be here in Q&A or in the App section but here goes.
I really love my Epic 4G. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still running Dk28 with midNIGHT rom 3.1. Then I finally switched over to the wonderful CM9 Beta1. I am loving it so far, but there's one thing that bothers me. The camera.
One of the things I used to use on the camera very frequently was the panorama/wide shot function. I really hate the sweep panorama of the ICS camera because with the crafts I make, it's just horrible and it's always distorted because sweeping and me don't get along. The camera that was on my leaked Froyo had the feature where I would click the first picture, and while moving to the side a green box would guide me and then automatically take the next shot when it lined up, then I'd move again and it would take the next shot. It would then put the images together for me.
I really need that feature back. Is there a way that I can install that camera app back onto my phone in addition to the updated ICS camera? I really like the smoothness and speed of the ICS camera for normal picture taking.
I can pull the camera.apk from my original install, but as I said, I don't want to overwrite the ICS one, which I fear because they have the same name and I don't know if renaming it will make the difference. I want both. If someone could guide me in getting both on my phone, that would be great. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot on these boards so I figure if anyone knows how to help, the great minds here do!
I hope I've explained this ok. If I'm not clear, please let me know. Thanks much!
p.s. I've tried a number of camera apps from Play. I don't like the wide shot ones where it has a ghost image for you to line it up manually either, so please don't suggest that.
I'd love to see the old TW camera on CM9. The ported TW apps thread a couple posts down mentions this, but i haven't seen anyone post a successfully working version yet.
Hopefully someone who knows what they're doing can figure it out for us. *crosses fingers*
Wishlist? Anyone?
Lol....I was running the peoples rom last week and was wondering the opposite. If there was a way to put the ics camera on that tw rom. That's an awesome rom and has the tw camera (obviously), but maybe just flash that and try it for a while?
On a side note.....Not sure if its just me, or does does the ics camera take much better (normal) pictures, even when zooming in quite a bit? I've been wondering if something was done in ics to better utilize the camera hardware.

I find the ICS camera to be really nice for just normal pics. Definitely faster and does seem to be on the clearer side. But I'm really needing that old auto panorama/wide shot feature. (non sweeping motion or ghost line up).
I took the ROM from ruu 3.70.651.1 and ran the system.img and the boot.img through dsixda's kitchen and have been having fun building up my own ROM. Today I thought I would theme it a little but found that there is no systemUI.apk? Like I said everything works fine but with out that apk there are a lot of things I can't mod. Has anyone heard of something like this? I've been reading all evening with no luck. It seems to me with out that apk it shouldn't be working at all...
I know this is going to sound weird but I've been finding the icons normally in system/app/systemUI mixed in to the system/framework/framework-res.apk and the system/framework/com.htc.resources.apks. It's not really a problem I'm just wondering how this happened. I went through the process again this morning and came to the same results. Does anyone have any idea how or why this is happening? The one thing I can see as a problem is that if I want to add quick settings or recent apps it'll be more work since it appears the files will be spread out in strange places.
Ha. I was following this thread because I just got schooled on this exact same thing the other day ( see bottom of this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37698552 ) .
The funny thing is even if systemui.apk *is* there, framework can override it.
Who knows, maybe they did things different back in the days of froyo?
I was planning to return my attention to this topic myself someday, so I'll be curious if you find something useful. I would start by searching everything tommytomatoe ever wrote..

hey all~
just curious if anyone here in the AT&T S3 XDA Community tried the HX Camera Mod
http://hx-custom-roms.com/galaxy-s3-mod-hx-is-back.html
Some threads poped up in the search, most though, were asking how to instal it or for like the T-Mobile variant or an international varient ...
anyhow, I trust XDA ... and usually search here before installing a mod ... so that's what I'm doing now
Thanks ... and no rush ...

I would recommend just giving it a try. You don't have to flash anything and there is really no danger in replacing the camera APK. Just make sure you copy the old SamsungCamera APK somewhere safe in case you wish to revert later. Worst case senario your camera won't function with the new APK and you just have to revert back to the old APK.
Other people's opinions on a mod are going to vary vastly. Some people may like mods, others may not. You won't ever know unless you get your hand's dirty =)
I installed the HX CAM on GalaxyMod ROM last night. Just inserted the apk into system/apps directory, set permissions to rwrr, & reboot. no apk to rename since GalaxyMod ROM uses best face cam apk (GNote2). No FC so far. Still need to test features.
