For the SGS2, you could have a big picture that would scroll over multiple pages. I used the same picture here, but it didn't work. Is this disabled now?
It's called scrolling wallpaper

Hello,
is there a simple way to replace all the Samsung standard icons with the Vanilla (stock) Android icons?
I really don't like many of them (e.g the ugly messaging icon).
Thanks in advance
Hmm...maybe with launcherpro you can change icons for apps you put on your homescreen. You can't do that with app drawer.
The only way seems to install a aosp-clean rom (when we'll get cyanogen I think we'll be ok) OR to install the aosp version of the apps you're interested in...guess they won't all work, but some should. Music will definitely work (I used it in some rom, and the samsung icon is really horrible), also calendar and messages I think should work...of course that would change also the application itself, not just the icon...
Download ADW Launcher, and then search for "aosp adw theme" in market and install.
Folder organizer might be useful in this case.
Although haven't tried!

I do it but that way i still don't have the AOSP drawer like the second picture that you can see here
there's a setting somewhere in ADW to activate that kind of drawer?

No, that's the 3D App Drawer from Launcher Pro in that picture.

ICS is supposed to support resizeable widgets on the stock launcher but the stock Twitter can't be resized. Has anyone come across on that can be resized?

It's a feature. Widgets cannot resize automatically, they have to support resizing.
I wasn't expecting it to resize automatically but I cannot resize it manually - I would like a widget that takes up a full homescreen but without installing a different launcher.

Have you tried plume? I don't have the GN yet but the widgets are resizable on honeycomb.

the widget has to support it. Twitter still hasn't been coded for ICS properly.

Thanks - that seems to work.
@El Daddy thanks too - but APW seems to work for what I need so I'll probably stick there!
I know this is a really noob question, but what size should a wallpaper be for the GS3? And also, if I use a different launcher like Nova or whatever, and something like Widgetlocker lockscreen or will it resize images?

Bigger is better, settings/display/wallpaper/home screen or lock screen or home and lock screen will give the option of selecting the wallpaper from a source. If you choose gallery it will let you choose your wallpaper and then give you the option of cropping it/resizing it...

Yeah bigger is always better, that way it doesn't get all pixelated when you go to set it to that image. And also, here's crop image dialog you get when trying to change wallpapers with Nova:
Perfect. Thank you
I hate how it doesn't let me pick 2 different pictures for portrait and land scape

Is this at all possible?
I really like the 4.1.2 lockscreen however i want to see the live wallpaper i'm using on my homescreen, without the use of 3rd party lockers. Can this be done?
It is possible to put a transparent wall paper, but I dont think you will see through it to the next layer like ur prolly thinking.

If you set both lockscreen and homescreen wallpaper at the same time (3rd option in the settings when you long press on the home screen) the option to use live wallpaper is offered. It will show on the lockscreen.

I have been playing with my G Pro for a couple of days with Nova Launcher and decided to try the stock launcher. I cant seem to figure out how to change the grid size or stretch my widgets. A lot of the widgets I use are 4x1 or 4x2 and leave a gap on the screen. Is there a way to change this?

You can resize almost any widget just touch and hold and let go as soon as it raises up to move. You should be able to resize it then...
