Newb question beware....
What would happen if someone flashed ICS Gapps on a rooted stock Sense ROM? Would any of the apps actually work?
Main reason for asking is sometimes the people, message, and dialer apps open sooo slowly.
Haha nothing to do with people app and dialer gapps only contains google apps nothing else.....
And you can't flash it over sense....

I have been looking around the forums for a while now and if anyone knows where i can find such a ROM that fits the fallowing:
- Official release of Froyo 2.2
- De-oxidized
- All bloat ware removed
- no sence UI
- Uses LauncherPro
Thats about it, if anyone knows of a ROM that fits the previously stated criteria. I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers,
Daugusta

CM6 is the ONLY ROM without Sense right now.
Can't you just download launcher pro from the market? What about adw launcher? Root your phone and delete the bloat. A lot of stuff can be deleted manually. Message enomther and see if he will port his nexus Rom to evo. It is a great Rom.

There is a Senseless Froyo-Fusion out, but I haven't tried it.
I personally tossed around the idea of a stripped down ROM, but like 2.1 can't get the AOSP dialer working, and the AOSP calendar had some wierd issues.
I know of at least one more established ROM dev that is currently working on a 2.2 version with sense stuff stripped out. I'm guessing we will see it in the next few days.
But other than CM, none of these are true sense-removed roms. They still are Sense at the core (framework level) but have AOSP apps in place of sense apps, and a different launcher. If you want a true AOSP, CM is the only one, and I'm pretty sure for other phones most AOSP builds are based off CM.
So I have rooted my EVO running froyo, now I want a better rom than just a rooted stock one. I am trying to find a froyo rom with sense, overclocking, 4G, wifi tethering, and 802.11N. Any suggestions??
Why don't you search the development forum and read the roms. They all are different. And some have bugs that WiFi or 4g isn't working. Overclocking deals with kernel not Rom. I suggest doing some reading in the forum and read stickies in each forum. WiFi tether is an app you download from the market. Yet again nothing to do with a Rom. Some roms include it as why you should read up the roms.
Edit: and what do you call better? You will end up trying bunch of roms before you find one you like over the others. I suggest try a Rom. Using it for a day or 2. Nand backup and then try another Rom. You might like how its setup or the features of the Rom.

I think I am going with carbon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771259
I've been happy with Fresh roms, and like #2 poster said, which is the same thing I did was try out a few roms and determine which one you like.
Ditto. I stayed with CM6 after testing several roms.

Been on Calkulin's EViO ROMs for quite some time. I have Nand backups of Fresh and BS but I come back to EViO for 99% of my use.
So why Evio? Any specific perks?
Fresh 3.2 with launcher pro and sense disabled. Vanilla lock clock and apps. With a side of handcent and swype! Best tasting rom ever! Lol

How do you "disable" Sense? Do you mean the lock screen mod?
I'm guessing when you hit home and ask you to pick with launcher you want to use he checked to use the one certain launcher. Sense still runs in the background..

Get the pro version of titanium backup and you can freeze sense so it never runs.
I have switched between Sense and AOSP countless times and the thing I noticed was that the keyboard on Sense is slower.
On AOSP it responds immediatly, I even notice it now on AOKP.
Now my question, how would I get the AOSP keyboard on Android Revolution 7.2.1? I have already tried extracting the AOSP keyboard from an AOSP rom and putting it in system/apps but it wouldn't open, just force close, any ideas?
Thanks!

Put the .apk file in ROM zip/system/app, reboot in recovery, reflash the ROM without wiping. Reboot and done.

I have tried that too, but when I changed the keyboard to the Google AOSP one, it just force closed and wouldn't open any keyboard.
Anyone know which one will work on Android Revolution?
You can also download them from the market.

Why not try Go Keyboard, I have been using it when I was on sense roms and it was fast, and has many add-on languages.
Hi,
I hate the stock sense keyboard, and as I've been running ARHD for a while, I just got a third party keyboard from the market...
For info, this one works well: https://play.google.com/store/apps/....android.inputmethod.latin.ice_cream_sandwich
Well I was thinking I cant be the only one who loves the look of stock AOSP/CM but the relatively bug free operation of stock roms.
Foxhound seems to be the answer to this but isnt for sprint:

Wondering if anyone else would be interested in a rom like this? Also wondering if any devs would be interested in a project like this?
From what I could tell it's just a de bloated tw Rom with aosp apps right?
Then why not just do this
Use a tw Rom like blazer
use root explorer to delete the apps you don't like
Find the aosp apps for tw in themes and apps section and flash
Find inverted Google app and flash

I guess the part I really liked at least based on the screenshots is how accurate the theme appears to be. I tried ICS theme but it was lacking
I would be all for this.

I'll bump to that!
I was wondering if anyone has come across or know of any inverted apps that work on TW ROMs? Only my second time using TW and miss the inverted apps for AOSP ROMs. I would gladly appreciate it if someone could help. And yes I did a few searches but I work in the medical field and don't have a lot of time to search and trying to get this phone finished before I get home to the wife lol. Thanks

You can download an inverted gapps zip and extract it then manually move the apps you want to system/apps on the root of your internal sd. I would suggest justinbeans inverted zip because it contains a lot of extras. Theres threads for inverted youtube with 720p playback, inverted multi dpi playstore, and for inverted gnow but you would do better inputting xda followed by exactly you want to find in the google search, it works a heck of lot better than searching from this site it self.
