Gallery/Dropbox question - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is there a way to pull Dropbox instant upload photos into the gallery app? or is there an App that will do it? I know quickpic doesn't.

DropBox app may be?

LOL that's true. I was hoping for one stop shopping so to speak. Conversely, is it possible to select picasa web albums that will sync to your phone or is it all or nothing?

How do I keep Google+ Photo Sync while hide synced galleries in my Gallery app?

How do I keep google+ photo sync enabled so that all the pics i take can be synced to google+ for backup, but NOT to have the exact same photos from online showing up in my Gallery App? It's really annoying. I can't find a way to disable the online album from showing up in my Gallery App.
Do I need a new Gallery App replacement?
try adding a .nomedia tag to the folders you don't want to see?

I believe the .nomedia tag doesn't work with ICS

Those galleries are online, how do I add the ".nomedia" tag?
I think I'm just gonna ditch the app and get a 3rd party gallery app.

It's not a "tag" like metadata if that's what you meant?. It's a file with .nomedia filename and it works. That's how quickpic hides folders.

Doh! Well you are right. Just use a 3rd party app
Yes I know it isn't a tag, thanks for pointing that out. But my answer remains the same. The .nomedia file doesn't work on ICS.
[Edit]
For me it doesn't work. Supposedly it works for some.

Talk to me like I'm 5 about the photo gallery app.

I'm having a problem with regards to the photo gallery displaying way too many photos and only want to display photos I have stored on the phone and the Instant Upload folder that google plus generates. What do I have to do to make this happen?
I've gone into picasa web galleries and deleted a ton of old ones which aren't relevant anymore, but no matter what I try my gallery app is a mess of photos from posts on google plus with no recognizable folder structure or organization at all.
Should I just give up and use gallery only for local photos and then the google plus app for viewing the instant upload folder?
Is there a third party app that will do what I want?
I really can't help you with the stock gallery app as it blows IMO.
QuickPic from the market will let you display or hide anything you wish.
I love quickpic but it's local files only isn't it?
Clear media storage data

Settings/accounts & sync / click on you Gmail account(s) and uncheck the photos so it doesn't sync with your device.

It is a good suggestion but does not answer the OP's question. Will this program overwrite the contact pictures from Google to Facebook?

Exactly -- I already have Facebook pics tied to my contacts -- the question is how do I force the phone to use them as the primary pics? HTC does this already...
Go to a contact hit menu then set as default then you can select which image is the default. Facebook contact sync does this automatically

HaxSync will do this for all your contacts. If it misses some, you can go in and manually join the contacts. The other nice thing about HaxSync is that it will use hi-res pics instead of the lame low res default.

Just grabbed this and will try -- yay for leftover Play Store credit from my Nexus 7!
Update: Looks like that worked -- and the pics look much better!

On my G2 works perfectly Picasa
Isn't it just called photo now ever since Google bought out picasa?

If it's that it's not cool.
On G2 for example, as picasa albums appear in gallery you could set images as wallpaper or other...
Now it's not possible.

Into Google Photo app?
I use multi-photo wallpaper function, and it's not possible. It was on G2 because picasa album appear on gallery
Yes this is a problem and I would love to know why you only have Dropbox and Box to choose from. You can't add any other cloud service.

Any way to directly link Google photos and disabling the gallery app

I can disable the gallery app, but for my pictures to show up in Google photos, I must have the gallery app. Any way to link the camera with the Google photos app? Like make it the default?

We can select which folders to backup into G Photos and so they can be viewed there.
Will check this tonight anyway
But if you're trying to save your photos straight into cloud instead of local, its impossible.
