Sorry, if this is wrong section, but I´d like to ask about ICS-roms camera. Is it 'fully' working?
My understanding is that the ICS camera is fully working but applications that utilize the camera (besides stock camera app) may have difficulty.

Ah, okay. So, no reason for staying on GB. Thanks m8! :3

Camera is fully functionnal (take photos, panoramas), but video caption does not record in 720p.
Can you change your thread title, if you are talking about Mimicry ?

The camera works on ICS roms but because of the drivers not being released, they are not as good as the camera should be. You'll run into issues with camera apps and so forth so stay away from them.

Sup guys i just wanted to know if there was a rom out there that happens to use the camera app for the htc one x? i love my GS3 but i actually love the way the camera was on the One X the features were just better but the lack of memory made me switch over. So is there any Roms out there that have the camera app from the One X? if so let me know it will save me the time from trying every rom out.
Ask in the One X section for the pulled camera apk. Really the only option.

but will the apk need to be modded for the gs3?
More than likely. It's going to need HTC sense framework.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
damn thats what i figured i hope someone can come up with an apk to mod so we can use that camera its just better prolly the main reason i miss that phone haha.
I don't know if it can be done. We can't use the Sense camera on aosp roms but I'm not sure if it would be the same for Samsung software.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I can't see this happening in the foreseeable future, as stated we would need the entire sense framework for it to work.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
I've already tried using the Sense 4.0 Camera app on my TW rom. Black screen until crash. You'll have to ask the nice people at sense4all to port a sense rom to our i747. They've already got it booting and partially working on the i9300.
This will never work as one x also has a hardware chip that works with that camera I forgot what it is called but won't work without it.

Why not try another camera app?
This one will make the phone's camera more like a DSLR. It can be a battery drain if you can't find your settings right away. Camera FV 5. (shoots RAW if you are a photoshop junkie) w

hey guys,
so here it is, working camera for photos only on ics for p350
just flash the zip
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/109462953/ics-camera-fix.zip
camera preview is still messed up, sometimes its completely blank, sometimes it's distorted, sometimes it's really clear but flashing
video doesn't work, panorama doesn't work, and it leaves the statusbar + background distorted after loading camera, but the pictures are as clear venkat's gingerbread
btw, if any of you are like me and couldn't figure out how to take a picture *facepalm* you press the power button
credit to hephappy for initial ics camera source
credit to ron for edits and rom
credit to keyur for all the help
credit to venkat for the gingerbread camera source
and credit to all of you for being so supportive and getting me interested in android
Thank you Everyone
source is here https://github.com/antdking/ics-pecan-device-folder-fixing
This is only tested on ron's beta 8
Can someone test different camera apps please? test if picture is taken, whehter video works, panorama, preview. that sort of stuff
Also, who can get the clearest picture up here
Hat's Off to Everyone You Rule
It works ive confirmed it here is proof
well done!

If you use the other apps, then the only thing what you see is some black screen and nothing works. ilussion is the only one that works without problems.
I hope that they can be fixed/made compatible with the working camera.

I was hunting around for a camera that would work, when i found an app called camera ics +
No greenscreen to report anywhere, no blurriness, it just, works!
Could be useful for devs too? We could finally have a perfect cyanogenmod rom!

Other than the green screen and no auto/manual focus during video, I don't find anything wrong with the stock CM 10/10.1 camera. There's no blurriness if the lighting is bright or flash is used.

I just found it quite slow, and maybe the blurriness was just cos of the lack of auto focus Didnt realise that, but yea i wasnt that keen on it.

I'm getting best results with snap camera on codefire x after a lot of experementing. Camera ICS+ hasn't seen much development lately like camera jb+.
But to be honest, imho there is no better camera like any sense stock before latest officially suppported by htc, especially panorama mode.

Is there any way I can improve it?

AOSP roms aren't known for their camera quality. You could either install a stock rooted rom, or get used to lower camera quality.
Or use any alternatives from the play store. ICS camera, camerazoom fx, etc do a good job. Also remember someone posting the miui camera few days back. Look for it. It worked fine too.

Should work on all 4.0+ aosp ROMs. Just delete/rename gallary2.apk in system/apps then install the apk like normal
I'm posting this because I'm running it right now with zero issues on thddudes beanstalk rom

But when it uses 25% of your battery overnight there should be something wrong. I tried it myself. Photosphere is not worth the no deep sleep new feature, lol.

I tried this running CM 10.1 and it seemed a little laggy for a while. Also, the quick settings did not match up. i.e. I would try and select one scene mode and it would actually pick another. If it was more stable I would use it. I prefer this new quick settings menu over the radial menu
Works well on stock Rom too. I also have problems with settings not matching up.

Meh... It's ok. I still prefer the MIUI camera, even if I don't have front camera support with it. IMHO, it's better than CameraZoom as well.

I am on AOKP and this only half works. It does do photosphere, but it only does 1 picture then it is fuzzy thereafter and the video is horrible and not usable. Does anyone have a .zip to flash back to stock camera and gallery? blah. i did a backup before but it was a a couple weeks ago and I am just not getting around to trying the camera.

This works great. It's how I restored my camera
meh
4.3 camera works fine on LG Optimus G F180k. I now have two Camera apps and two Galleries. The only flaw I encountered so far is the picture size. It only goes 8MP maxed and my camera supports 13MP so I only use it for PhotoSphere. The PhotoSphere works well, so far, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The new gallery app is a step up from the stock I had.
I froze the stock gallery and use the gallery app that came with the 4.3 camera. I didn't freeze or uninstalled the stock camera. I'll probably use'em both.
My theory here, maybe this works well with my phone because it first came out on Nexus 4, which is also a LG device and Optimus G and Nexus 4 almost have the same hardware with just a lil' variations like the camera. (N4 with 8mp while LGOG with 13mp, some models have 8mp too just like the N4)
and another thing, the 4.3 camera creates another directory inside DCIM folder. So the two cameras have two different folders inside DCIM.
