[Q] [Request] Led control menu mod - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
I didn't know if I should open the thread here or in Q&A so I apologize and ask the mods to move it in the proper section.
In the latest releases of CM9 I found a useful menu under the notification led menu that permits to change colours, pace and frequency of the notification led for specified apps/events and I found it really useful!!
My question is: is there any way to port it to any stock-based custom mod or create a zip file to flash via CWM? Any dev interested?
Thank you all!
nP

Install from play store
There were similar apps available in the play store for changing led colors for notifications.
For Example - Light flow lite - led control etc., But not sure it will works for all mobiles.
I will try to port this led controller to other stock/custom roms.
Hit "Thanks" if anyone helped you. :good:
Xperia Arc LT15i
Rooted/Bootloader unlocked
JellyBean - FXP137/CM10

thank you for your reply!
I tried light flow and light control but I had bootloops and neverending FCs!
The CM9 options were working perfectly and with a really light impact on ram and cpu

[Q] Where can I get lights.vision.so to pulse the trackpad light?

While trying to find a way to get the trackpad to pulse I stumbled upon this thread where cyanogen modified lights.vision.so to flash the top LED and pulse the trackpad.
The link in that thread is now dead, is anyone aware of where I can download that file?
Are you just trying to pulse the trackpad? This is the default behavior of the phone on notifications---it'll pulse white (it's just that the pulse is really slow). The lights.vision.so file added the blinking light in the speaker grill (normally the battery low/charge light). If you are trying to add that functionality, it is built in to a lot of the custom ROMs. You can also try using the app "LED me know" (a lot of users have said good things about it but I haven't tried it myself). If you simply want to have that same functionality without an app, Pershoot has the file on his website. I'll have to find the original thread though.
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851685 (Note, this is the same as is used in the CM roms).
Thanks for the link. I'm using LEDmeKnow right now but don't like that it flashes the trackpad light and was looking for a way to make is fade in/out like on the Nexus One. I'll try that library and see if that does what I want.
Followed instructions on the download page and ended up with no notification lights unless I used LEDmeKnow

Custom roms and LED colour noticfications

Hey guys, with any custom rom I have tried my LED notifications aren't working as correctly as they would have done when running my factory standard Desire.
With any custom rom, the LED will only illuminate green for few apps and charging. Before rooting etc with apps such as Go SMS I could set sms messages to give a pink led notification but other colours such as this don't work at all now with a custom rom.
Is there a workaround with this issue or could it be a fault with my device?
Regards, DJM.
hi,
yes there is a work around, just look to the market for a app called led me known
Thanks dude, shall give this a try.
Are there any other modifications I can try?
about what you mention... no led me know would be enought to sort this
Hi,
I downloaded 'Led me know' from the market but my LED is still not showing when i receive a text message.
I'm having this problem only on InsertCoin latest stable rom (CM7). Is there a fix i can apply myself instead of waiting for a update of the rom?
Thx in advance!
Hi,
It s advice to uncheck notification from settings sound and display and set notification with only led me know.
Dunno about your rom, i would ask this on thred 'dev.
You can test the notification behaviour with led me know

Notification Light?

Is there any way to blink the lights between the keys when you get notifications?
yes im interested too with this ?
Sometimes i dont see the Notificationlight on the Side.
It would be very useful if there would be some apps to programm the NotificationLight on the Keyboard `?
Light Flow does the trick
Search for what is more simple. Are too many settings that you must make.
how does Light Flow work ?
Which Settings i should use / change ?

If I'm not wrong, DoomKernal has this feature built-in (v11 & v12). Checkout the thread in the development section to make sure (I'm not yet running v11 or v12 to confirm).

[APP][10/11] Capacitive Button Brightness v1.0.3

This small application allows you to change the brightness of the capacitive buttons (back, home, and recent tasks) on the HTC One X. Root is required in order for this application to work. This application works on any ROM, including CleanROM, ViperXL, Cyanogenmod, AOKP, and MIUI.
Changes in Current Version
Code:
Brightness setting now sticks across reboots
Frequently Asked Questions
Which brightness setting is "stock"?
It depends. On Sense based ROMs (eg. CleanROM, ViperXL) "Bright" seems to be the default. On AOSP-based ROMs (eg. CM10, AOKP) "Dim" seems to be the default. It all depends on how/if the ROM maintainer tweaked the default setting. The "default default" (ie. if you RUU to stock) setting is "bright".

How do I get back to the default setting?
The most reliable way is to disable setting brightness on reboot and then simply reboot. Or, you can just set the brightness setting that is the default.

What happens if I uninstall the app?
Nothing. Well, it doesn't change the brightness setting if that's what you're wondering. After a reboot, though, the brightness setting will revert back to the ROM's default setting.

Known Issues
no visual indication when buttons on the ui are pressed (other than the capacitive button brightness changing)
ui button images are scaled up and look at bit pixelated
awful error message displayed if not rooted; should instead say a message like "you are not rooted... sucka"

Dont forget to say Thanks !!
Thank you for this app!
But I have a problem with my capacitive buttons, impossible to dim them, I tried all the available mods/apps but no luck.. I only can switch them off and when I install this app and touch one of the 3 icons nothing happens..
Please if someone encounter the same problem post here so that we can help each other..
And sorry for my english
Regards
Unfortunately your app doesn't work on my One X running ViperX 2.71.
After I push the buttons in your app, it asks for root, but after that nothing happens.
Button lights don't dim or disable.
The flashable mod on which you built your app does work, so I dimmed the buttons using the mod.
:good: Good luck with the further development of this app! :good:
Dont work on my one x with CM10 101012
But thank you for your work !
Same here...
Doesn't work on ARHD 11.0
v1.0.3 of the app did not support the International One X (endeavoru). I am the original author of the app and just added support for the International One X in v1.0.6. See this new thread, if interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033973. It actually works on your device now
OP: If you read this, could you change the title of this thread so that it doesn't get confused with the official thread? Also, could you edit the OP to link to the real thread right at the top? Thanks for promoting my app, but unfortunately it did not work on this device when you created the thread. I don't want people to see this thread first and give up right away when v1.0.3 doesn't work. Thanks!

[Request] Soft buttons as backlight notification indicator

Hey guys, I'm looking for a mod, app or something which can make the soft buttons light up when there is a notification like a missed call, unread message etc.
I would appreciate a lot any assistance.
Thanks in advance.

There is NoLed app which can make pixels light in screen and there is nothing to light up the buttons?!
What's the deal with bln kernel? Needs root? It's a custom rom or what?

Nothing because an app that interacts with the screen doesn't rely on a kernel feature like BLN. The feature itself doesn't require root while the apps to manage it yes (BLN control for example) but this is not the problem. No custom rom or anything, just a kernel feature and since no kernel developer joined our community I guess no one here is able to unpack zImage, integrate BLN and repack the whole thing (custom kernel). However I'm confident it's only a matter of time
On Play Store there's an app that should make soft button light up with notifications, it's called Light Flow if I don't get wrong but AFAIK it doesn't work with our device
BLN kernel is now available!
