[Q] Restore MMS/SMS from TWRP?

I've been using app extractor to restore my texts from CWM backups when I flash new ROMs. Is there a way to do it with TWRP backups?

You should try sms backup from playstore. Backs up in xml format and no need to extract if you change your recovery. they have call logs backup also
But to answer your question i wouldnt know, sorry

[Q] Can I Flash CM7 Final Update Onto CM7.2 ?

I have installed cm7 and ı want to update it to final version. but ı'm afrait of my telephone might brick. so can ı update ? (Sorry for bad eng.)

Normally you can update and just wipe cache and dalvik cache, but a nandroid wont hurt

What's Nandroid?

In cwm there is an option: nandroid backup. It's a complete backup of your current rom together with your apps and data. In that way if something does go wrong you always have a backup

If you want to make a nandroid backup, make sure you have 500+mb free on your SD.

How to change backup Dup.format to be tar.format

You have to recreate your backup using the cwm, but before backing up choose as tyson said as above. I don't think you can just change the backup format that have already been created.

Yes, exactly. Restore with that backup, change format and make a new backup. It will be the same but in .tar

Restore clockworkmod backup to another phone?( similar thread provided, but... )

Hi... I found this similar thread with my question. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1502853
This thread only tell using clockworkmod backup to the **same** galaxy Ace device. But now what I wanna do is " I'll use galaxy note 2 clockworkmod recovery backup to restore them in galaxy S4." it's **different** device and can I still do that? Any example of brick phone with this method?

Highly recommended Dont do this ,
It will Restore your previous phone EFS and you will lose the IMIE of your new device and will be in deep trouble.

Glad you posted the question here :good:

you're better off using titanium backup, and only restore user apps/data.
this way you only copy over the things that are safe to copy over.

For switch over device, titanium is best
Make full backup on old device
Restore 'missing application with dada' batch scenario in new device.

I know that, but I thought it's safe because I backed up stock rom. Losing imei will be very terrible. It's ok now after all ... Thanks for all advices. ^_^

I know this shouldn't necessarily be in this section but I've already PM'd someone and asked on the original thread for help and have gotten no response yet. I understand people may be busy though too. At any rate, can anyone give and exact instructions on how to flash this ROM? They're not in the ROMs OP so...yeah, I'm lost.

Flash exactly as u would any other ROM .... All the linaro means is it was built instead from googles build tools it was built with a different teams build tools ....

I would do a factory reset in TWRP then go to advanced and wipe system. Flash ROM, flash gapps wipe cache and dalvik one last time the reboot.

Use same fresh install method listed in any of my rom threads... I'm not sure about restoring messages I never do it but system data is usually a no no if you have issues with titanium download super su update your binary with the recovery method then go into titanium preferences and click the back up folder location option and change it from sdcard0 to legacy it will ask you if you want to move your back ups say yes then restart titanium and world will be right again

I tried to flash it and it flashed fine. But then, my keyboard kept FCing and trebuchet did the same. Any fix? Or what was I doing wrong?

Did u factory reset in recovery at least twice ? Also it may not hurt to wipe everything twice EXCEPT INTERNAL STORAGE.... Then reinstall ROM and gapps
