Random vibrations - HTC One X

Anyone noticed the random vibrations that happen when using the touchscreen(rarely) and keyboard(more often), its not very annoying but i would like to know whether this problem is a hardware or firmware/kernel issue.
Using ARHD 9.4.0 with stock kernel, but i noticed it also when i first bought the phone stock.

What kind of vibration you referring to? Haptic feedback?

I also have random vibrations, but it just started when I flashed tbaldens cm10 Rom... Think it's just a bug in my case

I have random vibrations on my stock Sense. I do not know why, but when I press Volume Up + Volume Down phone vibrates shortly, then after about 20 seconds vibrates fast 3 times. That vibrations means that is created bug report, and they are saved in folder sdcard/bugreports. You should delete folder occasionaly, because it gets bigger and bigger.
Why bugreports are created? I dont know.

I'm referring to the vibration from the keyboard buttons, the majority of the clicks produce the intended 10ms vibration, and then a wild 200-400 ms vibration happens every now and then for no reason.
I don't get a lot of long vibrations unless the haptic feedback is triggered, that's why I'm concerned it could be a hardware issue or drivers/kernel issue that can be fixed.

How can I disable vibration on boot & shutdown?

Hi! As stated in titel, I want to disable vibration on boot and shutdown. Before froyo, it used to vibrate only when starting, now vibrates also in shutdown.
There is a small app called Silent Boot which disables sound on boot even though the phone is not in the silent mode. App that I am looking for is an app similar to it but also has ability to disable vibration.
Additionally, although "haptic feedback" option is deselected, it is still available in the stock calculator.. annoying. I want to use vibration only on incoming calls, nowhere else.

Vibration on start / shutdown - How to disable?
Is there a solution to do that?
Would also like to know this. Bump.
Me too, no idea why they included the shutdown vibration in the Froyo update. Pointless?
Ehm, just curious ...
What's the problem with vibration during shutdown and boot?
I hate the boot sound MORE because it affect other people ... But, I "fixed" that using Tasker easily (no root required)
Sorted out the boot sound issue thanks to "Silent Boot". Simply, personally, I find vibration much irritating on such. Pointless..

I understand. personal reason etc. however its not pointless. If the phone takes more than a few seconds to shut down the screen goes blank but the phone is still "shutting down". This happened alot on 2.1. Phone would take 10minutes to shut down. you had to keep turning on screen to see if it was off yet or still 'shuttnig down' The vibrate now gives a positive confirmation the phone is off. not just screen off.
Ok I see the function as well, but it would be better if this was left for user to decide whether or not to use it; as kind of preference.

Its probably going to be more hassle than its worth disabling it. Though I really can't see why it really is a problem, do you like shutting your phone down a lot? I can't remember the last time I actually turned mine off or even had to restart it
If you root the phone and bake a custom ROM you can get rid of it - the latest MoDaCo ROM has this 'feature'
Personally, I like the boot sound/vibrations
I was considering that there might be a tweak, an app etc. which is not requiring root and/or cooked rom as well (like as Silent Boot) now I see there is no way out.
Yeap, this is a matter of taste...
BUMP
Believe it or not the noise of the vibrate has woke the person next to me up more than once. I need it gone.

Well, afaik, the FroYo update has removed the shutdown-vibration.
The Boot-One is still there though.
shutdown vibrate annoyance
turn on haptic and set the vibration level to zero, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) this also disables all vibration alerts.

If it doesn't vibrate when you turn on the phone, then its a hardware problem. Failing that, its a software problem.

Thanks would require to have this replaced then

Ive been having same problem aswell, not a major issue as mine still vibrates when the phone is switched on, but i was curious as to why it never vibrated for notification's, the only issue i have with it not being able to vibrate is, i personally hate ring-tones of all kinds, and have my ring/phone tone set to silent so sort of rely on vibrate to know of an incoming call. Other than that i guess im just going have to wait till this bug gets sorted, I'm using CM7 7.1.0-DesireHD

This might sound ridiculous but you looked in the settings right? If I'm not mistaken for texts atleast vibrate is turned off as default

Volume down button issue

Hi everyone.
I am experiencing a rather strange issue with my HOX. The volume down button does not work as smooth as the volume up. When i press it to lower the volume it does it in an erratic way, sometimes it has a little lag descending levels or sometimes drops 2 levels at once... it is not clearly smooth.
I had an HTC Desire HD that had this very same problem.
Does anyone have this problem as well? Is it software related? I have firmware version 2.17.401.2
I've This Problem To ....
My Phone Htc One X
I think it's a hardware issue. I've got this aswell, and sometimes it is annoying. I tend to push it a bit further up so it will register it. Though I also have that lag that it will drop 2 or 3 levels.

[Q] Weak and clunky vibration issue?

I do ponder on whether any of you lovely chaps can help me?
From having a total of three HTC One X's, I do know that the 'feel' of the vibration from phone to phone differs. Some sound/feel rapid and tight while others vibrate a bit more clunky like.
Although OrDroid is perfect for me for the time being the vibration of the buttons and keyboard feel very clunky and somewhat inaccurate to react. I thought my phone's vibrator *ahem* may of degraded over time perhaps but I went over to a AOSP rom last night for a bit of a play and the vibration was perfect.
I realise this is all about preference; plus the fact it's very hard to explain that the vibrations on my phone seem a bit slow and clunky to react to button presses.
Are there any mods, or possible updates planned where we can modify vibrate intensity/timing etc?
Cheers!
From my own experience I can say that HTC changed the way it vibrates in the JB update
For me it felt more "premium" with ICS
Maybe these changes weren't applied to the AOSP ROM you're using now
But I'd say as long as it vibrates fine everything is fine

Like I mentioned I have had the privilege of owning a few One X's and they all vibrate a little different.
Be nice to have the option to change it like they incorporate into 3rd party keyboards!

I've also found that after the Jelly Bean update it vibrates differently.
I don't know how to change it, though.

Galaxy S3 Volume Not Working

Hey, i'm new to the forms so i just though i'd give you a background on my problem. Basically at random times when i try to turn up or down the volume the phone won't let me. Its almost like volume is disabled. I thought it could be an app or the recent firmware update but it seems like that ins't the problem. The only way i can get my volume to work is by rebooting my phone. Then i can adjust the volume for a few hours, until it happens again. I've had this problem for about a week now and its extremely annoying. I apologize if this is not in the correct category.
The attached imaged is what it looks like when i cannot adjust my volume.
Same Problem Here
I have the exact same problem. It's very annoying as I pretty much have to restart my phone at least once a day just for some volume.
I've had it happen randomly too. Only solution I've seen is a reboot

What roms are you guys using? I see its not stock so if you all have the same one its probably the rom causing the problem.
Odin back to stock snd see if it still happens.
