I had the regular cwm recovery, flashed the touch version, been working fine. But tonight when doing a nand backup it failed at the cache backup. I couldn't get back into recovery mode, the closest I got was download mode(not Odin) I was having problems rebooting my phone, it started going into car mode. I downloaded cwm again from the market and was finally able to get back into recovery. Tried flashing a Rom, rebooted and the screen lit up black and that's it. Took me many tried to get into the recovery again, finally did a nand restore, and it was all flickering car mode rapidly. I can't get back into the recovery still, only download mode.

That doesn't sound good. Have you tried ODINing to TWRP or the non touch recovery?

totally confused. Download is Odin... you get into this when you're connected to the PC and do the volume buttons + power.
to get into recovery make sure you're not connected to a PC.
When it goes into this mode it says download mode. Odin mode said Odin mode..

download mode is odin mode you cant do odin unless you are in download mode. i am confused? what do you mean odin says odin download says download. i think i know what you mean but just asking if you know odin is download mode not to say you are a noob.
Before when I would use Odin, my phone would say Odin. Yesterday it would only say download, after flashing twrp touch it seems fine.

I had this issues once before, turned out to be the kernel causing the issue. Did you change your kernel since the last time you backed it up?
Nah I haven't messed with any kernel on this phone just Roms. I think cwm got all frigged up and something happened.

So I kept getting the "Charging Paused. Voltage too high" error pop up, my USB port wont connect to Odin via PC. So I used Mobile Odin to flash stock EL29 .tar, that sent it in to a bootloop. So know I'm stuck with stock recovery and can't boot into a working ROM. I need a stock unrooted update.zip?
I don't think one exists but I could be wrong.
do you have kies installed? did you try a factory reset in stock recovery?
Yeah I tried all of that. Since I can't connect over USB, I used Mobile Odin to flash a stock .tar. Something went wrong, I can tell it half flashed because it loops at the Sprint boot screen. All I can do is get in to stock Android Recovery and Download mode, which is useless since I can't connect to Odin.
Go into stock recovery and factory reset and reboot

Thank you for your advice, but no dice. Think it was a bad flash to start.
Have you tried just a recovery, and not the whole rom? Is it your phone or comp throwing the flag?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
If none of that works just bring it into a store and tell them that its stuck in a bootloop. They will try to see what they can do and if they cant fix it they will order an AE. Free if you have TEP, $35 if you dont.

Hello, so today i was getting a play market error so i decided to flash another recovery, as mine is the earliest versions of TWRP, so i went ahead and flashed it with Odin. It was successful, but wouldn't boot into recovery. So i went ahead and tried to flash another recovery and now it says NAND write fail. Is it bricked ?
It still boots to 4.2.2 AOSP, but i have no root so can't flash recovery.
I AM OFFICIALLY SCREWED !
After getting out of download mode, it wouldnt boot anymore. Firmware upgrade issue. !
I would say buy a usb jig from eBay. Much faster and cheaper than anything else. It forces the phone to go to download mode and from then you can go to Odin and flash stock.

Somehow i managed to get it into Download Mode, but i can't find any stock odin files. Can you help me please!?
Edit: I found it but it's 1.6 GB.. Waiting 10mins
Edit: Weird, but after trying to flash top 3 famous recoveries, they all failed. So i went back and flashed the original recovery and it succeeded!
Thanks for your help, i'll have to figure out how to flash a useable recovery now >.>

IDK how yours failed. Just a few days ago, I flashed TWRP after trying out the new CWM, and everything went great.

if you can get into d/l mode, you have it whipped.
Here's the TWRP 2.5.0.2 file:
https://hotfile.com/dl/230303459/7ce1553/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.2-jfltexx.tar.html
Install with ODIN.
Steps to follow........
Method #1 -
Place file in PDA box*
Uncheck all other boxes.
Press start.
When installation is complete, unplug usb cord and pull the battery.
Insert the battery but Don't turn on the phone.
Place phone in Recovery mode via the Power + Volume up buttons.
Method #2 -
The other way I've read to install TWRP Recovery is:
Place the TWRP 2.5.0.2 tar in the PDA box*
Check the auto reboot box and f time reset box.
Start the installation and let the phone reboot.
I believe Method #2 is the method of choice, but sometimes the Recovery doesn't take, so Method #1is recommended.
Here is an explanation why:

Fixed it.
My phone keeps restarting into CWM no matter what I do. I already had it factory reset beforehand and now I'm wondering how to get it back to normal.
I don't have USB Debugging Enabled either (I remember turning it off for no apparent reason) so I don't know how to activate that either... when my phone only loops into CWM.
So.. what I remember doing accidentally was that I said yes to the following: "Root access possibly lost. Fix?" forgetting that I had a UN-ROOTED phone to begin with. So now that it fixed that Root access or whatever, I'm stuck into reloading this forever-loop-into-CWM.
Is there any possible solution to get me back on track..?

Great!
...now.. how do I do that exactly? (I'm still a complete newbie at this)
and I forgot to mention this but I cannot transfer any file to my phone whatsoever. My computer will not recognize my phone as an 'external storage' because it's stuck in CWM.
So in other words, ODIN will not recognize my phone ever.

No OS. TWRP was installed and I thought I had ROM on SD card no. So now I have no OS. I tried the Volume up home on button but just says Galaxy Note 3 and that's yet.
I read some other posts but where do I get recovery image and how do I get to bootloader? via Odin?
How do I recover?
Where did the os go that you was running.you know it is power home and vol up at same time to get into recovery.

If all else fails download the factory image from samobile and flash it in Odin. Will lose everything but phone will be working again.

If you have to ask questions like that it really would be worth reading up on how to do this stuff. Unsure if you can truly brick it but better to be safe than sorry.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
You can't really brick this way, although I'd consider it a soft brick. No os is simply that, no os. Uninstall your pc os and everything is still there, all your data is fine (given you keep your os and data separate. I.e partitions, which is android.)
Flash an os and you're fine

CWM nor TWRP will install
I succeeded in getting back to stock. I put the TWRP & CWM installed via Odin (Odin passed) but when I 3 button turn on it boots to the screen that says up volume to install OS and I go into Odin screen.
What gives?

For realizing I'm a moron! Somehow I missed the Vol up part! LOL
Seeing as how I haven't flashed a recovery, I've no reason to attempt recovery. Thought it was still Vol - and power like the s3.
No need to feel like a moron. If anybody should it's me lol

So here's what happened - I installed digitalblur but forgot to install the 4.3 bootloader prior to flashing digitalblur. ROM flashed fine and went thru setup of rom and then as I always do after setup I like to reboot the phone. But it wouldn't reboot, all it would do is continue to boot loop at the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen. Now I can't get into recovery. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to fix this issue?
